Re: RRR|DefDiff new free tool published
Excellent work Misi, I have been using it today it is very fast and very useful. I like that it spits out a nice simple list of the objects that are missing on each of the servers and the ones that are different, ignoring all the non-functional differences. Initially I tried comparing a deployable application on 2 servers but it just came back and said the apps were different - 1 line. I really wanted to see the differences in the contents. I reran the report with an object def file with the app contents and this gave me the results I wanted. I have one question on the output files. For me I only had a small number of objects that were different yet the def file of objects that were different was a much longer list. Why is this? Perhaps I don't understand how the output files work. Thanks again Misi, Rod On 4 December 2012 02:35, Misi Mladoniczky m...@rrr.se wrote: Hi, I have just added a new tool to the RRR|Commands section that can compare complete systems and create delta def-files and diff-lists for you. Re: Change Template Oddity
Hi, I believe the root issue is this Active Link: CHG:CTU:WindowOpen_035_TypeSearch_TemplateFound Basically, if you use the write-ahead capability to find your template it will fire the above Active Link If you are a member of multiple groups that have access to the Change template the query used in the filter is not specific enough and will present you with duplicate entries in your template list. One of the entries matches your coordinator group in your change request and each of the others is a different group. If you select the one that is not the match to your coordinator group - you will get the error. The fix is to include the Support Group ID in the Active Link set-fields for the table query CHG:CTU:WindowOpen_035_TypeSearch is a good example beacuse it works correctly- this one runs when you just click the Template button and do not use the type-ahead function. It sets the External query correcly for the template table. Updating CHG:CTU:WindowOpen_035_TypeSearch_TemplateFound to use support group id will fix the issue. Hi Suresh, I have encountered a similar issue in the past, which was related to filter looping. You'll need to trap the error by enabling logging to be sure.
