Probably a simple question for those that have done work with web
services... We are trying to consume a web service and the site that the
service is hosted on is protected by a User ID and Password. How do we
submit the ID and Password to be authenticated in a web service?

Indeed, the XML Gateway will do this for you, but the actual module is being
spun off into a separate (pay for) product. Hence, you won't have to buy a
gateway to get this functionality.
However, anyone attempting a serious integration should think about whether
they really want to use
