I have had the same issue with a PRI connected from asterisk to an
avaya system, it first worked fine, but then started doing this, what
is happening is that the D-channel is getting reset for some reason (I
have no clue why, but I was able to reproduce it between the avaya,
when CID Name was

After a few hours (with several drops per hour) a BT man turned up at
the exchange, fiddled and monitored for an hour, and declared he could
find nothing wrong.
Funny thing is that we have had no errors since ...

We have also seen this on T1/PRI cards that are about to go south (i.e
fail).
We would also recommend putting a loop-back connector into your Digium
card and running pattern
I've gotten a cross-over cable (is that a loop-back?) but what is a
pattern test ?
