Addendum,
I have been testing a Jetway NF99FL-525, very similar to the earlier Jetway
NF96FL-525, but contains 2x Intel PCI-e NIC's on the motherboard.
I ran my iperf tests again:
1) NF99FL-525, e1000e driver version 1.10.6, PCI-e <-> PCI-e yields 920 Mbps.
2) NF99FL-525, e1000e driver version
cluded I would be Ok for most all

Kris,
My MacBook client has iperf 1.7.0 and I simply used the defaults.
$ iperf -c 10.10.50.55
It states TCP window size: 129KByte (default)

Michael,
On both an atom and via board (at different times), I've gotten consistent
download speeds of 40+mbps on FiOS (35/35 Plan). Consistent being over 15
minutes of constant throughput, so I wouldn't call it 'bursting'. At the
same time, I've been on a call with no noticeable quality degradati
Lonnie,
Out of curiosity, what packet size are you using in iperf?

Hi Mike,
What kind of performance ? which Atom ?
For example using using a 1.8 GHz Intel dual core Atom D525 (Jetway NF96FL-525)
with 3x Intel NIC daughterboard

Most of the interfaces on Alix boards I've seen are gigabit so that
won't be a problem. Even so I've seen 100mbps interfaces deliver a
sustained 12.5 MB/s before.
The real issue will be software router performance. The Alix boards
I've seen can saturate 100mbps with NAT, iptables, etc but it doe
I have Comcast cable at home where I have seen burst downloads approaching
20Mbps and my AstLinux (on an Alix 2C3 board) handles it just fine.
The issue at 50 or 100Mbps downloads will be the ethernet link. 100Mbps is
the theoretical speed of fast ethernet, in practice throughput is somewhat
less

Just wanting to get an idea for the group on the performance you would expect
from a Intel Atom based system on a relatively high speed broadband connection.
The reason I ask is that Australia is getting a National Broadband Network
consisting of Fibre to the Home with speeds up to
