If an exe file appears to be deactivated, something could be up in the registry. go to regedit in the run dialog and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\ and see if search UI or what ever it is is in

if you want to paste things then git bash is probably the thing you want, it simulates a linux terminal and you can ssh. to paste something just press alt space, then e, then p and enter and it should then send the pasted command. i find PuTTY
