Re: A little information about Backblaze
The important thing to keep in mind is the 3 2 1 rule. 3 backups, on at least 2 separate media, 1 of which is offsite. Maybe that rule isn't as important for your gaming computer, but for example if you're running the next audiogames.net replacement
Re: A little information about Backblaze
yup, backblaze here is just one thing, one of the two back ups I have. I read their blog and even they tell you about this online, on site and off site strategy, but this guy did not mention that either, I guess it was very convenient for his review
Re: A little information about Backblaze
@8The best I've found, taking accessibility into account, is Windows Backup (Windows 7). Go into backup settings, there's a button to get to the Windows 7 one, then you can set it up.Most of the other programs are buggy, inaccessible, or both
Re: A little information about Backblaze
Hi allNote that I didn't write this review and am just poasting it up here. Also, I didn't realize the review was out of date, sorry about that. Also, does anybody know windows software for automating backing up to external hard drives instead
Re: A little information about Backblaze
This review was done in 2018, so not exactly current. And also yeah, there's a lot of info actually missing from the blog post. Not surprised, considering his intention was to basically slag Backblaze. He's trying to back up 6 TB of data, but is he
Re: A little information about Backblaze
I thought about using it, however the cost put me off. That, plus already have hard-drives to back up to... and after trying out the free trial... to be honest I wasn't convinced. Tested the uploads with a pretty much empty mac vm, and while

Re: A little information about Backblaze
Yeah, I don't get why revealing one's netspeed is so taboo as far as reviews are concerned. It isn't like they're revealing how much is in their checking account or anything. And as an IT professional they should know more than anyone

Re: A little information about Backblaze
Given the size of backblaze, I'm pretty sure he was just unlucky. Someone always will be, with backup software of that level of complexity. Maybe not, but if they lost data all the time they'd not be in business.Incremental backups are always
Re: A little information about Backblaze
Even though this review may very well be valid, one of the things this reviewer fails to mention is his network speed. Even an IT professional is subject to the limitations of unpredictable residential internet unless they are smart enough to jury
Re: A little information about Backblaze
this is interesting, its a bit disturbing honestly but I always used the trial fully before paying. IN that time, 2 tb of data were backed up successfully and this included my main drive and 2 external ones. and I had 3 more days to go
