Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Because I find Itunes to be the spawn of satan, I haven't anything Itunes related with Chrome other than the applevis website, I prefer to do my ap store searching on my Iphone anyway.~As regards Chrome I have another question. Is there a way
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Ah Stewie I misunderstood, it's nice to have the combo boxes working correctly now. Apart from the odd thing with going into my Iphone stuff folder on my bookmarks everytime I press B I'm liking Chrome so far.One thing I really like is how it saves
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
I actually turned the auto reporting of background progress bars off because I found it rather annoying when copying many different files, but I'll give it a try and see if it works in Chrome. @Stewee, I know about the auto navigation thing in Nvda
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Hello.I've not tried downloading a big file with chrome but can't you use the option to speak or beep when you alt tab away from the window? It works fine in Firefox but I'm not sure about Chrome. To find the option go to the object presentation settings
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Regarding combo boxes, you can hit space to make them not auto activate when arrowing.

Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Thanks turtlepower that is handy though I do wish I didn't have to refresh the page to get Nvda to work properly after the download is done. Oddly enough I didn't see this when I looked in the chrome store under accessibility addons. If Pitermach
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
You can also get an add-on that will play a sound when your download is complete. There are several of these in the Chrome store, but the one I use is called Download Notify:https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta … nfo-dialogIt's not quite the same
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
@dark wel, regarding the downlaod thing, most brousers work like that. they don't give you a notification when the download is complete. you can however just go back to it and check how much it's left before the download is complete but not by looking
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Hi, I am now trying Google Chrome more seriously, and I can say that the only thing that might prevent me from switching to it is its minor performance with some form fields, particularly edit boxes and combo boxes.Other than that, it is all right.I
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Two things I do not like about chrome, are the way that for some odd reason whenever I press b for bookmarks from the chrome menu I land in my Iphone stuff folder and then have to go backwards and arrow through everything again, and the fact thatn when
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda

Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Since I don't use facebook I'm less bothered about that, and I don't tend to be paranoid about security, I just don't like the idea of any tom dick or harry being able to view my bookmarks from my google account. The combo boxes thing is a bit annoying
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
For combo boxes, try going into focus mode with nvda+space, then tabbing away from and back onto the list. This is a bit flaky. I also just tried this again and now it looks as though they now work much better, so I would also suggest you try out
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Sometimes when something doesn't work in browse mode, try it in focus mode.I find the bookmarks easier to organise that way.I can use cut, copy, and paste, as though I'm pasting into a document. The drawback is NVDA won't read the bookmark titles
Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Hello.I've deleted chrome... again, I guess I just don't like change when it comes to my browser.I don't think I'll be installing Chrome again unless Firefox really really screws up.

Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Thanks to Brad and nuno, I know I've seen that option while poking around I couldn't remember where it was, I'll give it a try, but I'm back on ie for the second since I'm briefly at my parents for the night but don't have time to install chrome onto

Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda

Re: Trying out google chrome and Nvda
Hi Brad. Yeah I knew about the ctrl D shortcut to save a bookmark to the list, what I was actually looking is how you save all your bookmarks to an html file so you can back them up. I know they're backed up on google but I'd prefer to have a manual

If you use NVDA, you can turn off reporting these settings. JAWS can do this as well, don't ask me how, though. You can do it for the youtube domain if I'm not mistaken.
