Re: enabling talkback during android setup
Well the shortcut is definitely not disabled, as I got it to work by putting various numbers of fingers on the screen and playing with it a bit. Not exactly sure what I did though.

Re: enabling talkback during android setup
Wanderer, the power button that hacker is talking about, is the button whom you use to turn your phone on and off, whom you also use to awake from sleep mode etc. He meant placing only two fingers on top of the screen, without pressing the power
Re: enabling talkback during android setup
Hello, Wanderer,As far as I know, you have to press the power button for a second, you will hear a sound or will feel a vibration. Then, place two fingers on top of the screen, and hold them until you hear another sound or feel a vibration
Re: enabling talkback during android setup
Yes, those are the steps according to the Google instructions, but they dont seem to work, and I did get confirmation that the device was on. I believe the shortcut is supposed to be available only during setup unless explicitly enabled afterwords
Re: enabling talkback during android setup
Not much to say though, Try activating manually the accessibility shortcut. I dont know if this can be done by talking to google app, or if you are in a Samsung galaxy device, the chances are not such promising to enable it by saying to S voice
Re: enabling talkback during android setup
For the shortcut during setup, dont go into the power menu first, just hold two fingers on the screen until the device talks. If you need help, call me on skype, nashinator611 or hangouts dnl.n...@gmail.com and I can walk you through it. Hope

Hi.I think 4.4 has a bug where the accessibility shortcut doesnt always work. I know that when my 2013 Nexus 7 was running 4.4, it was extremely hard to get TB going with the accessibility shortcut. If possible, upgrade your device to Android 5.0

Re: enabling talkback during android setup
Yeah, it could be disabled by the carrier skin but you would not think that would be a thing if its running near stock android. It should work as I did it before each time i set up my tablet, I have experimented with flashing and rooting and stuff
Re: enabling talkback during android setup
You cant use voice commands on the setup screen. Do you have skype or hangouts?
