Yeah apple has, surprisingly bad QC in general.Considering their quality in other areas, I find it odd, but it's the same for Macs and Apple TV's too from what I've observed.For instance on Macbooks, it's not that uncommon for the screen to fail

apparently they are made shittily, as a friend had one that needed replaced due to having a bad transceiver array.

My personal thought is, the phone should still be under warranty, so get a replacement. I assume you've tried all the reboot/reset/restore/reset with no restore/etc? If none of that fixed it, there's probably a hardware problem and nothing you can
