Well, I've officially lost all respect for Microsoft. This is a slap in the face to the user. They're essentially saying "you're an idiot and can't think for yourself, so we're going to decide what's best for you and you're computer, and by "best, we mean an easy data mine for us. If yes, Microsoft has made it extremely easy to upgrade. No, on the other hand, strange as it sounds, means...no. My message might be strongly exaggerated, but it passes the point across: The only thing that I'm getting from Jyro22 is lies. Until something is actually done that shows me otherwise, I will consider him a lyer, because he has done nothing to prove me wrong. He ahs said time and time again that he will do so and so in whatever timeframe but he never does it. Either what he's saying are half truths or they are lies. Or, he's just keeping us in limbo and when the tension finally snaps he'll do something. Either way, I will stay firm and say that if I don't get a refund when requested, I'll do something about it, even if I have to take Jyro22 to court, because if someone wants their money back, they expect it back ASAP.

Hi, i've bought this game on my iPhone 4S and i've played around with this game.I'm stuck at the part where i am at the police station and i go to the roof. I use the bazooka on the air drone and i use a cutter to open the hatch to the main entrance.I search all the objects and i must use something. I try to use the fire extinguisher with water, but it doesn't work. I try to use a glass bottles with water but it did'nt work either.I use a grenade with drone, but it also didn't work.What should I do with this part?

Oh yes, because someone would write a whole manual, in detail, and go through the trouble of making a full video with music and voice acting for show. Hi Camlorn,Sorry about my last post. I wasn't aiming that at you at all. It just seemed that Ethin was starting to get a bit aggressive so I tried to write something that would put a lid on a spark before it became a flame.  But yes, I see the issue with IDES. In fact when messing with the Visual Basic 2008 express edition IDE I found that the way things were done was a bit like this. Drag and drop controls onto a form, and then type a bit of code for what happens when they are clicked or whatever. That's why it would be quite complicated to use visual basic from the command line in particular. I'm unsure of the other microsoft languages, but from what you've said they aren't much different in that regard. Also yes that is something I've noticed about Pure Basic, was that there isn't really a big support group for it. If it's even to use c
 allbacks as parameters to functions, it is not documented, and that was something I needed for a project I was working on. I know such is possible in bgt, but am not sure if it is in Python, this being the subject matter of an email I was planning to send to you until I discovered you'd returned to the forum.

I didn't mean to be harsh. At all, in fact. Just a question: Who are the "SR" people? I've never heard of them whatsoever.The fact that many languages are getting more and more OOP like is just astounding to me. Unfortunately, I'm being dragged along for the ride, restrained until we get to our destination (wherever that shall be). So, I've been catching up on my pointers and classes. I've also been catching up on my doubly linked lists, ordered linked lists, and trees (although trees, unfortunately, confuse me beyond belief). However, I'll keep trying until I get. Practice makes perfect, after all.I do hate it when there are "undocumented" modules, classes, interfaces, namespaces, etc; it makes things a ton harder. Why do people have to leave stuff undocumented and expect programmers to learn what so and so does instantly. I can tell you, right now, that python has some undocumented modules. C and C++ do, I suppose. an
 d windows definitely does. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of functions in there that aren't documented at all. So, if programmers want us to program things for people, take all the time you need and document everything first!

@EthinYou're going to take someone to court for a refund of 15 dollars? When you know the game is coming out soon, you just can't wait for it? Between this, and you're observation about war and Jyro lying to us, and comparing the two with a completely different situation tells the whole forum that you have some growing up to do. Jyro is not lying to us, and there's certainly no war involved. Jyro is working as best he can on the project (game), and it will be ready when it's ready. I never said anything about Purebasic and I never said my list was complete.  I also didn't say that the languages I used as a representative sample were the "best", in fact I can in fact make a case that java is the worst language I know of.  But no one can really meaningfully debate that the list I chose is unpopular (but I'm sure someone will try).  I know you can use the Purebasic IDE, but no one will hire you for Purebasic and no one cares about Purebasic (where no one means less than 500 people who are being paid at least $5 to be programmers, since I apparently need to be very very precise even when stating my opinions and stating that I'm stating my opinions).  And being able to use the Purebasic IDE doesn't actually invalidate anything I said either: the next version might be inaccessible and I doubt either the SR devs or the Purebasic developer would care enough to fix it, especially not after however long it took to 
 make.  Since Purebasic can be used from the command line, it does at least avoid this particular IDE pitfall.  You see IDE dependence with the Microsoft stack (C#, VB.net, making Windows Universal apps), the Apple stack (Xcode and iPhone ap development), and to some extent the Android stack (you usually need one, but you can get around it with some know-how and reading lots and lots of docs).  In these cases, you can technically use the language from the command line, but the IDEs do a great number of complicated things for you.  This wouldn't be a problem except that these complicated things often involve private APIs, undocumented tools, and undocumented procedures.  In this day and age, it is common for people like Microsoft to only say that you need to click the magic do it now button and leave it at that.  A perfect example of this is the custom build steps needed to use XAML with C#, a very nice and somewhat friendly language for doing 
 UI development that would otherwise be accessible and actually somewhat pleasant.  Unfortunately this puts you at the mercy of Microsoft or whoever to keep their stuff accessible and, as evidenced with Google switching to Android Studio and Visual Studio after 2008, this does indeed rarely happen.  You can sometimes reverse engineer and hack around it, but this is a great deal of extra effort.  Whereas learning how to use the command line effectively need only happen exactly once and will thereafter apply to many languages, plus a bunch of other stuff you might do.

FluxWorld represents my learning MOO, building a MOO, learning how to code in it, and become a master of it over time. Sorry to say, but if you don't know what IP address you should give to people or don't know how to open the port, you won't make it very far.@Livrobo: Have you already given the data from your server to someone you trust, or are you searching for someone to take over the server? I'm asking because I might consider giving this a try.I have shut down my test server for the moment. Why? Because it keeps trying to update which seems to fail. If I had any players on the server, they would be mad about the restart each second minute. At the moment I'm writing this, the server is not usable.

I've tried using both FF and chrome, but have never become as comfortable with them as I am with iE.With FF, I find my system focus often gets lost off the page, in some tool bar or search bar, or something of the sort.In chrome, it used to reset the system focus to the top of the page every time I tabbed out of it, and now I don't like the way it renders some pages and other than that, I'm actually thinking of giving it a good try again since I haven't in a while.

So, I'm not the only person who can spot a trend? Yes, Window-Eyes is free, and sure enough, people use it instead of alternatives--even on OS X. Quality matters. I purchased Window-Eyes and I'm glad to see AI Squared get back into the game.As always I am disappointed by browser selection. There seems to be a strong tie between the operating system and the browser that is particularly pronounced with screen reader users. I can't say why this is, as there are clearly alternatives, but I can certainly appreciate that screen readers are guaranteed to work with primary browsers where they may not work with secondary ones. Then of course there's the inevitable question of whether screen reader users are proficient computer users.

Hey guys, just incase you're all wondering where the updates have gone I am announcing that for the next few days, perhaps week or more I will be incactive, there will likely be no updates at all, which going from our daily updates will definitely be a change, the reason for this is after many weeks of more or less avoiding it I am heading into the TITAN LANDS! nah just kidding, I'm taking on towns, towns are a bugger, I've already scrapped and rewrote them once before, last time they were scrapped we had gyms in towns where you could do reps to increase your strength and could buy special moves from fight trainers, there were also money lenders who send thugs after you if you tried to leave town without paying, the latest version of towns is much better overall though, it has many more places.Towns are outdated though, shops use the old weapon system and the stock is infinite, most shacks are empty, mines and fight pits and buggy and all towns feel quite sam
 ey after a while.I now plan to expand towns farther than anyone has asked or suggested and more than I though possible, the town population will no longer be a number, it'll be a number of actual npcs! that's right every npc in a town will exist, will have jobs, opinions, skills and stats, you can talk with them, fight or kill them even get them to join your faction.On to factions, towns will have all kinds of factions, be them guilds and trade unions or gangs and reavers, you can even create your own town, perhaps you want to create a gang dedicated to extorting people for money, or a cult dedicated to your dead pet rat, you can do it, but the other factions might not like your presence.There will be a huge amount of new buildings, towns will be far more unique, farming towns won't have the same things as slaver towns or trader towns, towns also have their own morality, you will find entirely mutant towns that kill humans on sight and if you are 
 a mutant you'd better stay away from human towns cause they'll shoot you on sight.There will be laws for each town, some towns will have curfews, others will make killing legal so be sure to find your local town's lawbook, aside from that you will be able to buy pretty much all buildings in town and become a property mogul or even take over the town in a violent coup and become the new ruler, where you can change the laws, outlaw groups, arrest citicens, collect add and remove taxes as well as start new events and traditions, simply put, as ruler of a town, you will have the power to rule your town!I've been working pretty hard on it already, there are so many elements to this that doing just the basic concepts took me a day and doing the npc name generators took me another day but it pays off, there are 19200 mutant names! stuff like Old Rotrad Joe and Garry Skinrash!So hopefully if you guys can put up with how the game is at the moment 
 for a little while you'll be seeing a hefty update soon, and following the big town update I will be happy enough to consider the game near completion, though the development journey won't end there!Thanks for reading!

Libaudioverse compiles with VC++ 2015 (but not earlier) via Cmake.  Microsoft has been adding a great number of features to C++ that I need to make things be sane, so earlier versions aren't possible.  As usual, Microsoft is behind every other platform in implementing the latest standards, so we only have complete support for C++11 as of 2015.  I do not plan to support MinGW; MinGW is regularly missing pieces of the windows API.And now I'm about to rant.  This advice is probably not helpful to new programmers:I do not use an IDE.  If you are blind, they are mostly a waste of time.  In C++, they mostly tie you to one platform as well.  Unfortunately, in the case of the Microsoft languages, you don't really have a choice anymore.  I don't use Jaws for the simple reason that it is overpriced and NVDA definitively works; it will also probably be mostly dead in 5 years.  I'm surprised to hear it still wor
 ks, the last version Jaws "officially" supported was 2010, and I had all sorts of really strange issues even then.  There's a chance that Microsoft might eventually support the accessibility APIs in future, but huge portions of VS2015 aren't exposed via the accessibility APIs properly.  The biggest debacle in 2015 is that you will always get line numbers read even if you turn them off, though MS claims to have fixed this in an upcoming update.  Too bad all of the debugger is still completely inaccessible with anything but Jaws, though, and maybe not even there.  MS has known about the debugger problems for at least 3 years; when I reported it a while back I was told they knew but didn't have the time, but thanks for bothering to say something.This is why I don't suggest C# to blind people.  If you choose one of the .net languages, half of the tools are only available through the Visual Studio IDE and, as of the latest vers
 ion, it looks like this trend is continuing.  This effectively ties your happiness as a programmer to the whims of Microsoft and whether or not the current regime cares about accessibility; at the moment, they don't seem to but the rumor mill says this may be changing.The real problem with IDEs in general, though: for the most part an IDE is about efficiently displaying information to someone who can glance at 10 things in a tenth of a second.  I'd probably opt into VS for some stuff if it became accessible as C# has a lot of good support for accessible GUIs, but for the most part the workflow as a blind person remains the same as if you just didn't bother.  I've never seen a completely working implementation of autocomplete on any platform, we don't get the formatting info, and we can't look at 6 panels at the same time with ease.My IDE advice is don't and use one of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Go, Rust, _javascript_, C++, Java, Scala.  You can program in all of these using only the command line, most of the IDEs will still let you collaborate with people using them without too much effort, they're all quite capable languages, more than one of those is general purpose, and most of them will get you a well-paying job.  There are still more with good command line tooling.  But tieing yourself to an IDE as a blind person is like pointing a loaded gun at your head: it explicitly puts your future as a programmer in the hands of two separate organizations (the SR devs and the maker of the IDE), neither of which care about programmers and one of which usually doesn't care about accessibility.  So enjoy waking up tomorrow to find out that the new version isn't accessible and that you're probably out of a job in 6 months when your employer upgrades or that your current projects are effectively dead because the current version of the language won't suppor
 t or run on new OSes.  If there were more blind programmers in general and more blind programmers that cared specifically, we could probably do something.  But at the moment we're in such a tiny minority even compared to blind people that we basically have no power to change it.

Heh Camlorn, totally agreed. The best advice I could give to someone, would be to use Notepad or notepad+, though I'm not sure how widely this advice would be excepted by professsionals. I only say this because it is possible to code in basically any language using notepad, and it's perfectly accessible for a blind user. The only point I'd see this being an issue is if a language required a specific format only implemented by its IDE, but as of yet I've literally never heard of this happening.

Ethin I find that a very unrealistic analogy, and completely out of context. I wouldn't be surprised if Dark went ahead and gave you a little time out from the forums, and I wouldn't blame him. Like people have said, he's done this before, but has always released the product eventually, so you're just working yourself up over nothing. Next time just don't pre-order. Hopefully next time things will be different.

About the frog thing, I haven't gotten there yet, but did you get a frog from the rain forest or the grass lands? I think it's the rain forest, but maybe I'm wrong about this. There should be an option in the rain forest called examine the ground. Keep picking this until you get a frog.

Also, unwillingly, I'lll contribute to the argument regarding pure basic, (although I have, like, no motivation to bash anyone, tell anyone they are wrong etc etc etc because that seems just stupid). There are things I'm beginning to realize I don't like about pure basic, namely the inability to remove and insert indexes in the middle or beginning of arrays. Another thing I'd desperately wish for in Pure Basic but sadly have to live without would be classes. I once had an Idea to use modules as classes, but as modules aren't official objects it's impossible to create an array of objects generated by a module.  There are more things regarding PB that have been getting on my nerves at times, however I'll still admit it's a great language for beginners. Two years ago when I tried my hand at BGT, none of the subject matter made sense to me. Now, when returning to it for a project too complex for Pure Basic, it went something like this
 .Read about classes. Got it in 15 minutes! Read about inheritance. Got it! Read about Sirialization. Got it! Read about interfaces. Got it (though I probably won't even bother using these in this game as I don't see a need for them)!  All that is besides the point though. What I'm really trying to convey is that basic languages are for beginners. I think the reason Camlorn is so strongly recommending they not be used is that it won't, in fact, be beneficial for professionals, and in fact games with complex structures and mechanics as I quickly learned, which is why I'd have to agree.  However, Pure Basic is still the language in which I'm coding S Quad Racing, and will stay like that.

@Dark, I hate to say this, but your missing the issue here. What SLJ is trying to say is that Jyro has lied to us. Multiple times. It's like if a war was going on, and millions were dying every day, and the government is in an uproar and panic. Let's say that was happening right now. Then, sudenly, a man from the two countries at war comes along an says, "Guys, it's alright. Everything's OK." This person continues to do this, repeatedly, until finally the US has had enough and declares war on that country. This is basically what Jyro's doing to us. He is lying to us about the satus of the product, which proves that he is a dishonest member of this forum. This is why we're all mad and angry about it. If Jyro22 was a good game developer, he would know that you should release the full game if it is finished to those who have pre-ordered it and then work on the rest of the system. A download system is fine, but that can come later. a registratio
 n system is fine, but again, that can come later. Everything Jyro22's been implementing is utterly useless at the current time. And if I do request a refund and Jyro does not rescind the money I paid to him, I will formally take him to court and demand my money back.

@12 The only reason Jesse got banned was because I know how he behaves on these games, and I didn't want to have that happen here. It's not like people are getting banned left and right, only 1 person was, and that person was someone who I know to be troublesome.
