@prajwal...Dude, seriously... I don't mean to be rude, but seriously learn to use Google. And think on your feet. 99 percent of Linux distros have package managers. But my main point is that you need to start solving problems yourself. Asking on here is nice and all, but that doesn't mean that this forum should be the one-stop shop to answer all your questions in life. Now, I'll answer this question, since I'm nice: Don't use unstable versions of apps like Orca unless you absolutely know that the repository version is stable. Use your package manager.

I think everyone has things that they miss from their childhood and fears are normal to have for sure. I'm 26 now and next year I'll be working in the field as a mental health counselor. Hello, everyone.  I have not posted about myself in many a month, and I'm ending that streak here, now. I'm seventeen years old. I'll be turning eighteen in three months. A huge milestone. I've been accepted to my choice college with scholarship, have my major chosen, and it looks like all is set to go... but then, my mind took me places and my contemplative side came out. And, with that, came this post. This question, before I post what I wrote on Facebook, is for the adults of the forum: Is it as challenging and terrifying as it all seems?  To me, this is a song of transition. A song of growing older, of growing wiser. But I look back, and the memories this song holds with it, and I'm man enough to admit I have to brush back a few tears. I'm going to miss this, the simple, childish innocence I no longer hold. The simplicity of life has fled with the years... And in ways that's a good thing. But, where once was confidence i

Now is the time where I think we'd all like to see gameplay sections, even if the patch isn't out yet. Kicking the ball, running on offense or defense, and when on defense, the best way to determine where the offender is and how to make a successful tackle--I'd prefer not to guess these things if possible.I kind of want to play long shot, but I dunno. The quicktime events are hard to remember with how fast they are, and you can't pause the game durring those sequences for good reason, though that makes it all the harder for us.Maybe I'll remember what I can and play through it, even though i might get the worst ending possible in it.

I think the auto-quests are still going to be an issue, Dark. The changelog doesn't mention too many changes to them. I'll tell you the same thing I told you the last time this came up. If you want to do the auto-quests in, say, Rune, then figure out the lay of the land first. Find out where stuff is. Get a very strong fix on where you need to go. Then go do some quests. You may not be able to do every single one, but you should be able to do most. And the time limits are actually fairly generous when you're going. You shouldn't, for instance, need twenty-two minutes to find three shops and return to Lord Agrippa...but of course, if you've never bothered exploring a town or city or area and then try to quest there, then of course you're going to feel rushed. Nature of the beast, I'm afraid.

I think the game requires you to register in order to play. Maybe that's why we can't play. @slj I have MacBook Air with several VMs, I've tried on all of them and they all do the same thing. TK worked right up until the update, but RS and STW called me a speed hacker for some reason. Do you know how I can fix that?

Hi guys, sorry I have been unresponsive in this thread, since the G D E was lauched for testing I have mostly been in the developer section. but I'm collecting feedback regarding scrapping th cartridge idea and would like input from everyone I can.My new idea to battle piracy is for the sonus to look for a code on the games usb stick that will only work with that particular console. This means games would all have to be downloaded or purchased from one location which could generate the codes, like a play store.People can make games and uplaod them to the play store, and select if they want them to be free or if they want to sell them. When downloaded we generate a code to be downloaded as well. This means each Sonus would need a serial number that would be entered whenever downloading a game to make sure they get the right code to make the game work. Or alternatively we will also have an automated phone system for non-internet users who can order games to be deli
 vered on a usb stick with the code already on it.What are our thoughts on this idea, I believe it would be easier from my side and it puts all the library of games in one place for easy shopping. Its also an easier distribution system to publish your games rather than advertising and marketing them yourselves.please let me know what you think, thank you guys

Given that the game's only been out for a matter of hours, I thought it'd be good to have a place to discuss it.  Having been playing the game a little myself, I personally think it's far better than UMVC3 in terms of the amount you can do to prevent annoying zoning,  large issue with the previous game when you had very little in the way of complete turoaisl/guides with useful information to guide you.At least this game has a tutorial and if I get a transcription of that, I'll post ithere.I've also got some rough menu notes, but they're not exactly complete yet, so I'll do what I can to tidy those up before I post them here.What are your thoughts on the game?  Will you be picking it up?

It seems like you wouldn't need a global theta, so much as the orientations of the players / the ball. In that case, you could have theta be a property of those objects, so the only time you'd need to pass theta around is if you're using global functions, or changing direction.

First: arch itself doesn't use Orca, because it's a console system2. Do you use talking arch image?3. If yes, type: alsamixer and press enter, wait several seconds, press up arrow some times and check if you will get speech.

Actually Orco, Daniel's access stick launcher doesn't come with any modules until you download them separately. In other words, all it comes with is the talking menu. Let's say you chose to launch nvda, the first go-around it would tell you that you don't have the module and allow you to download it. No need for a magnifier? No problem. The option is there when you need it, but the module is not on the drive until you download it. The whole purpose is just to provide a utility manager-like talking menu for those who prefer the nvda, pdf recognizer and magnifier in one place.

True. Matter of fact, nintendo 3ds did away with usb sticks and instead has an sd card slot in its place. Doubt the card could store games on it though, it seems to be just for the camera component. If the Sonus let you access everything, your games, your media, on one card, that would be great. To constitute this there could be a reserved games folder, kind of like how the Victor Reader talking book players have reserved folders that it looks to, $vrmusic for your music, $vrdtb for your talking books, etc. The idea is to name the folder in such a way that it can't be easily confused with others. $sgcgames for example? In addition, there could then be an explorer like interface that can access any folder on the card to play media files or what have you. And the usb port can still be there as an option. Actually, here's an idea. You did mention not having wifi support, and that's obviously understandable, it does cut costs after all. Unless your development board is 
 a Raspberry Pi model3b or any similar environment, in which case wifi is built in. But the usb port could be used for a wifi dongle. You could put things like score posting and, if possible, an interface to the store, with the understanding that the customer provides the wireless interface in question. As I understand it there is only one usb port. I wonder if one of those keyboards that function as usb hubs can handle a wifi dongle? If not, connect the wifi dongle and keyboard to a powered hub and then connect the hub to the usb port. Unless you also plan to have a usb OTG port as well for things like firmware updates, in which people could use a short usb cable to connect a keyboard to. The way I understand it, you'd also like to market the console to some folks who may not have a computer. Well, what if they could download their games through the console itself provided thy were directed as to where to get a wifi dongle?

Just an FYI for necromancers who might not have read the bovine channel: mummies now have a sort of mummy dust effect which causes your enemy to be hit with the asfixiation advanced poison, in addition to their usual curses. Asfixiation makes your opponent more vulnerable to breath damage and also makes their breath damage weaker and fail more often, I think. Read the help file for advanced poison to know more. Note I can't give more info because I am not a necro and thus did not use mummies, nor am I a thief who have used advanced poisons before.

JAWS and other paid screen readers were developed because there was a need for them so blind people could use computers. That's how you start a business. Determine what the market needs, find a way to make it available, and sell it for profit while also having enough to keep your business going. One reason why JAWS is so expensive is due to the rather small market it's intended for. It's the same with any assistive technology. Yes, it sucks, but it's how it is. That's probably why NVDA was made. Someone got sick of having to pay such a high price just to be abel to use Windows, so they stopped complaining about it and made their own free screen reader. Both NVDA and JAWS have advantages and disadvantages. Why can't we justl eave it at that instead of trying to convince everyone one is better than the other?

This sounds like a great idea. And free games would absolutely not have the serial number/registration code to deal with, just the paid ones? That actually works great. It's probably the least invasive drm system there can be for this console. And if you wanna order as a gift for a friend, no problem, just enter their serial number and have them download the game, or, if they don't have a computer, you could send it to them on a usb stick in person, have them use the phone automation,  or what have you. That said, if the cartridge system is to be scrapped, would there be an sd card slot in its place? I just don't think people would really like to be playing a game with this usb drive sticking out of the machine If I understand it correctly, if someone orders the game on a usb drive, if they have an sd card at their disposal, could they copy the game over to the card since it' s just a standard usb drive? IN other words, is the key file, the encrypted one p
 robably, stored on the usb stick with the game itself?

I payed for it and if they put it away from the store and I wasn't able to download or get to the older phone, where it is working, I feel defrauded.There was Apple mistake as well and all participants are putting hands from it away and telling that you must solve with another company etrc.My problem is not, that they didn't pay the dev. account I bought the game and for me as user is, that I want to paly or get money back.I am 99% sure that wasn't problem of the compatibility. I really don't think they can! refund everyone. They don't have all the funds to do so, Apple takes 33% remember, and they used a lot of the investment towards, well, the games. As for Apple, they have bigger fish to fry. Trust me. I did the same thing when the svox voice server apparently sent down and I couldn't download the voices anymore, I asked Google for a refund considering the company wasn't around anymore, they said if you can't contact the company, they can't be of any help. And I was like awwh screw it, it's no financial crisis anyway. See, when you're spending pocketchange on an app, you really can't lose your shit if you don't get a refund. Sure, it totally sucks that the company is gone, I totally get that. But when so many parties are saying they can't do it, that should generally be a sign that it's s o l at this point.

I'll be purchasing infinite once the price drops a little bit. I'm a (self proclaimed) god of UMVC3, and love MVC games in general. The roster's a bit light for my taste, but I'm fairly sure mechanic-wise the game seems pretty sound and should be loads of fun. I just can't afford the $60 right now.Frankly, the thing that annoys me the most about infinite is the marketing surrounding it. They're alienating old school marvel fans like myself pretty severely. They pretty much said, "Nobody cares about the X Men. Nobody even knows who the X men are anymore. People who liked X Men characters will like Guardians characters just as much-- they're almost the same. mechanically" As a comic fan.. It's not just about the mechanics. It's about playing as the incredible hulk and knowing that, being the bad-ass hulk that you are, you can smash everything if you learn the mechanics of that character. It's half mechanics, half fan
  service. But that's another can of worms entirely lol. Long story short: i'm eagerly awaiting to play it, and I'll definitely be posting a guide myself once I have it.

Ok.  I just wanted to make sure of the rule.  That way, if I have two chars, one day I might want to play with one, and the next the other.  Just wanted to make sure that was all right.  Also, I was looking at the website, and given all of the new info, it might be worthwhile for someone to update the site articles, spells and skills, etc., especially given the new crafting stuff, additional spells, changes in level related to several skills, among other things.  Most of that stuff was written 2+ years ago, and while it's helpful, there are changes that most likely make some  things obsolete, and I'd venture to guess that the spells and skills list that claim to be complete no longer are.  Obviously the news section has kept up, but the rest...not so much.

guess that I am going to have to get used to the adjustment of Y being travelled with 90 degrees, and the counter-clockwise system in and of itself because of the way sound pool updates.  Shots that I would normally expect to go to the right go straight ahead, etc.  So if I want to hit the ball directly in front of me to the other side of the court, I have to hit a 90-degree shot.  I suspect that for a while that's going to feel totally weird.

There's also a series of plugins by Ruthgul that make getting around much more convenient. This includes an automapper, which remembers places you've been to and uing that info, automatically walks you to rooms you've been to before. There's also a pre-filled database of rooms you can opt to start with, but I prefer to explore myself, so didn't do so.Autoquests can be done by anybody, since they're available for all levels. Marks are pretty fun. I immediately noticed that the boss fights are much more engaging than boss battles in most other muds, and there's definitely a lot more newbie content added compared to when I last played 4 years ago.

I don't know, if I will pick up the game yet. I must admit, I never played one of the Marvel VS Capcom games before. I watched a video of the previous game once, and was happy to hear, that they chose the voices from "Avengers - Earth's mightiest Heroes" for the characters. For this one I think, they took the voices from the current show, which can't compete with "Avengers - Earth's mightiest heroes". If there aren't any characters from the X-Men in there, that is probably, because Disney doesn't own them. Before I make a decision, I want to know more about the game. For example, is there a way to hear when the health of your current character is low, so you know when to change? Since this is a tag team game, this is probably an important thing.

There have never been any health indicators in MVC, unlike in the mainline SF games, MK, etc. You have to figure it out based on approximations of the damage your character is taking, which is what should be done anyway... it's not hard to tell approximately what state your character is in if you keep track of what you're being hit with.

For me personally, stopping when you hit a wall isn't that big of a deal breaker. Good audio cues areall I really need... and either a navigation aid, or a more linear, segmented area type of game such as Onimusha dawn of dreams, which would be perfect except for some of those puzzles. I'm a huge fan of that series, and with sighted help from a fellow gamer friend I beat the first three games, all Japanese versions.

I don't think Ruby is the best for audiogames. I've found that interpreted languages (or languages that are compiled into some kind of bytecode to be executed on a VM of sorts) run far slower than a native application that doesn't have such a complexity. same as the previous posters, I'll buy the game when the price dropped a bit. I'm really excited with this one, especially this one is the first game to include an actual single player campaign, and I heard that there is also a stylus mode (I refer this one from arc system works games, which is used in blazblue and the guilty gear XRD series), which allows you, as a newcomer to fighting games specifically 2D fighters, to perform combos with just one press of a button without inputting all the motion sequences.this is optional of course, so for competitive players this style of mode is not recommended.

Well, reading the list of criteria I can think of a few, but the issue is that I cannot guarantee that the games are what you are looking for, I don't know if I am forgetting a puzzle or something that might ruin the game.For example, yesterday I recalled Onimusha.  It was a whole series of games by capcom that are like resident evil with swords.  I had the fourth one in mind, it had a lock on system for battles, it has segmented areas, so you will be able to direct someone quite easily.  Even the puzzle boxes can be solved with a regular game walkthrough from gamefaqs.  Then I remembered that there is a puzzle three quarters through the game where you have to look at things on a wall, count them and enter the number on a door.  The number is random, so you would get stuck.Final Fantasy VI for the PC might be playable if the OCR can manage to read things, but writing a guide for that would be the undertaking of a lifetime.  There is
  no indication of when you stop walking, so it navigates like pokemon but has no bump sound when you run into something.  Also, I never finished it all the way myself, so who knows what might pop up later in the game.Everything I had in mind yesterday does not stop making the running sound when you hit a wall.  I will go back and check a few though.  If I find something I will post it.

Probably going to pass on this one... Capcom screwed up the roster, bigtime. A huge pool of characters to pull from, and they went with who they did... I'm very disappointed, and not just in the lack of x-men or other characters on the marvel side, but on the capcom side as well, which is basically a rehash of UMVC 3 characters plus maybe one or two new ones. I may pick this up if I find a really good reason to, but it probably isn't likely. lol

If I need an accessibility stick, I'll just create a portable version of NVDA, that way I can put the tools I know I need, rather than the tools you think I need, on it.
