Well, good news... I did finally manage to beat one battle in Sengoku Basara 3 on my own with no sighted asistance, so it is indeed doable. However it took me a long time... at least an hour as to the usually 20 minutes to half an hour. Im guessing it was because I got turned around a lot in the stage... and unfortunately, in this game the audio isnt detailed enough to tell you where in the area you are, as well as the fact that this game lets you wander around and doesnt close off areas youve already been which makes it hard. Maybe Ill give samurai Warriors 4 a wirl next and see...

Especially with the new binaural HTML5 3D sound that most browsers support nowadays, see Kitten Hero, I dont see why this could not be done. However its a scary thing and I never really got into it. So personally I dont think I will be doing such a thing for a while.

Hi.Yeah thats totally true. I do have some friends and would meat up with them. As for electric meaters, I intend to put mine on direct debit, so that a sertain amount of money is taken and put on the machine eatch month.As for groceries, whats wrong with just putting them in the back with you? Although I do see what youre saying if youre going to buy a lot that day, hmm Id probably have to call the company and tel them. Thing is; this is ages and ages away. THis might not even be for another 20 years yet, depending on me and my family.Thing is; some days I feel really motivated to get moving and try to start getting my own flat, but other days, I feel like crap and then dont want to do anything. Plus my family arent that supportive of me, apart from my nan but even that is limited when it comes to housing.But we will see how things go.

Bear in mind the limits on what you can physically carry, unless the taxi is also happy to let you unload your trolley into their boot and then unload their boot at your home. I personally order groceries online and find that the best solution for me but Im perfectly able to go to the shops in my town if I need or want something without having to wait and without having a minimum spend. Good examples are going to the chemists for either prescriptions or other medication including painkillers and cold remedies as situations dictate, going to the bank in person to sort out anything that needs it, or going to top up my prepay meters for gas and electricity. A lot of rented homes here in the UK, at least in this region, have prepay meters and while we cant read them without sighted assistance in many cases they will beep when theyre running low and we can certainly put some money on the card or key and top them up ourselves.Staying inside all the time also jus
 t isnt healthy, either physically or emotionally. You can safely ignore all this codswollop about fresh air being good for you but sometimes you just need a change in environment and not to feel like youre doing nothing but sit around all day. Being able to make and meet friends is also good for you, even for intraverted types like us. Intravertion doesnt mean you dont need or want friends, it just means youre more likely to have a small circle of friends you know well rather than lots of acquaintances you barely know at all.

Hi there,Some of you may remember me seeking help a few months back regarding an audio RPG I want to create. Im basically useless as a programmer at this point.Now that were in the new year, I figured Id try again.Here are the sort of things I want in my game:1. Turn-based combat, not real-time combat (think Entombed vs. Shadow Rine, for instance).2. A full party system for both enemies and allies. Many enemies may be alone, but I want them to be able to cooperate in specific situations (some boss fights, maybe) unless doing so is too large a pain in the tail.3. Minor map interactivity (which is to say, its not a platformer full of tricky jumps and deathtraps, but some mazelike elements and environmental hazards would be good).4. The ability to check stats, use equipment and items both in and out of battle.5. Screenreader support of some kind, even if its NVDA because apparently NVDA support is pretty 
 easy. I do intend this primarily as a Windows thing at first, and yes, I would like voice acting eventually, but that can come later.So, thats what Im after. If youre working with me, heres what I can provide:1. Expertise. I wont hand you vague ideas and tell you to make the best of them. Im all about playtesting, balance and solidity. I have a statistical system that will work if its implemented properly - and Im quite sure it can be done - plus I have a very good idea of a storyline. Exact dialogue and numbers can be tweaked as we go.2. Willingness to learn. Depending on the way this goes forward, I may want to try and learn programming of my own; this way, I might be able to take some of the load off the person or people helping me and contribute on a more direct level.3. Teamwork. One way or another, Im going to stay involved and current with the project. I wont abandon you, as a co-developer, 
 and I wont throw you under the bus regarding responsibilities or problems.Some things I havent figured out yet:1. Pricing/compensation. I am flexible on this, but I definitely do not expect to keep all the cash myself if I get significant help from people with the code. It might be my storyline ans systems that drive the game, but it will be your programming skills that made it happen, and I wont lose sight of that.2. Programming language/method of creation. I am looking for suggestions on this.3. Complete feature list. I have a ton of ideas, and if I can implement them all well be looking at a thirty-plus hour game, probably. Its going to be big, guys. Multiple towns/cities, a sort of overworld map, enemies that appear only by day or by night plus an internalized day-night system, a bestiary with rewards, four spheres of magic, four classes (archetypes based on monk, assassin, paladin and barbarian), flexible storyline to allow
  for a few key plot choices, superbosses/extra dungeons, secret skills/spells (some just plain hidden, some found by specific methods that are hidden or hinted at), map hazards (pits, deep water to swim through, darkness that will mess with your ability to see the map well, etc)...the list goes on. I dont know if everything will make it, but Id love to try.So as you can see, right now were long on ideas and short on execution. With your help, that can change.Please write back if youre interested in helping out. At this point, a sort of nuts-and-bolts interface probably needs to be built to test combat, above all else, since combat is going to be the biggest part of the game by and large, and well need to make it work before putting everything else in on top of it. I dont necessarily mean to speak for Rachel here, but I have something to say regarding areas and content and such.Rachel is one person. She is one person taking on a difficult, finicky project. The sheer number of bugs shes encountered and had to fix kind of proves that. Lets not forget that shes got other things to do in life besides tinker with this game port.As such, I think the straight and best answer to when will we see new content? is Well see it whenever we see it. Personally, I would rather see a game thats stable than a game full of content that may or may not be buggy.Ill go one step further and suggest that all the questions asking when such-and-such will be available are, in fact, pushy no matter what you do. Maybe Rachel doesnt care, but I know if I were me, it might get a bit much after awhile. Just let the woman work; at the rate shes going, youre not going to be

I wish I still had the study, because as far as any type of studies, this was very comprehensive, looking at factors across multiple jurisdictions, and multiple companies.Anyway, my main argument was that human behavior is like a complex system, and trying to regulate it with laws can not just have unintended consequences, but can actually have the opposit effect from what was desired. Careful what you wish for when talking about the government regulating employers with respect to blind people. At a certain point, theyd become too afraid to hire us.

I mentioned this example of maternity leave, because the general intention of having strict regulations around maternity leave is to help mothers with their career, but the empirical evidence strongly suggests it backfires. Careful what you wish for when talking about the government regulating employers with respect to blind people. At a certain point, theyd become too afraid to hire us.

Im afraid I dont agree on the regulation thing there theo, case in point, Black people and busses in America in the 1960s. As martin Luther King said, you cannot change peoples attitude by law, but you can legislate to regulate behaviour, and to be honest how is having companies afraid to hier blind people any different to the way things are now?Im not sure on this studdy you mention, but Ive seen slightly different evidence on the maternity leave thing in the Uk, which makes me wonder if this is cultural, after all I do know in America the attitude towardds the government is rather tdifferent to what it is elsewhere. Of course having the power to affect some of the larger multinational coorporations is quite another matter.

Hi allThis is a small note to all those that want to test for pc.I volunteered on the internal list audazzle has set up for testing to test for pc.Right now part of the shield key does not work so shields will not release.Right now the pc version cant be really played but its coming.So yes if you pc guys want to test its in the works.A paypal button is being set on audazzle site for donations to so hopefully who knows we can start putting in some cash for this.I cant put a constant stream, but I tend to put in a little even though I get the game for free being a tester I will still put in 20-30 dollars because I believe in helping new startups.

Well I tested a project I forget what it was called something like blind eye or something.It was on Symbian and was supposed to communicate with the cellular network with local helpers to do this sort of thing.I did this and was able to send things out to the local site.I was going to do this like with menus on restorants and such however I never got a response back from any helpers so I assume things never worked out with it at all.

@Dark,So what we need is something like Google Glass with an eye-contact app.It also has to describe the _expression_ of the person you are looking at and report any changes.It would also be nice to have a data base of all people so that the app can tell you who you are looking at by name.Then it could look them up on Facebook and tell you about them.Ive herd of a dating service that requires you to fill out a preference form and then gives you a wrist band that vibrates when you get close to anyone with similar characteristics.

Amusingly in reference to Darks point London only got public sewers because the smell one summer reached the houses of parliament and all the MPs found it unbearable. Up until that point effluent literally ran in the streets, the roads were actually built with stepping stones so you could cross without wading through the effluent. Without flushing toilets or running water people often simply emptied their chamber pots out of the window.Sometimes it really is down to the government to fix things, and often they need a royal kicking up the arse to get it done.

This is a little OT, but Dark mentioned barcode scanning apps, so I appologize for the slight derailment.My aunt sent me a box with a bunch of goodies in it. I got it just today. NO idea what anything was. I used Talking Goggles from Google on most of it, and Red Laser barcode scanner on the cookie mix bag.The Goggles is hit or miss. It might read just the word Cinnamon on one try, but when I point the phone again, it might read, Cinnamon instant. OK, I can open the box and feel that its oatmeal. It read just the word Hersheys, But I can open the box and feel the chocolate. On other occasions, it reads the whole thing. Alpine Puma spiced apple cider origional flavor... Thanks!There was an amusing try with another oatmeal box where Goggles read the text as, Instant cat.My point is, I love Red Laser hands down over Digit Eyes any day. I want my $38 back.

We were comparing experiences and the fact that people in wheel chairs get better treatment, and one thing she came up with was the fact that a lot has to do with basic body symetry, ie, a person who was just! in a wheel chair but otherwise looked normal, or a person with say an artificial limb would get on far better than say someone with severe scoliosis, or a slightly twisted body etc as regards reactions from others. @Cx2 I agree on seeing friends, not to mention going to groups for general mutual interest which is probably the way to meet people, and your correct on shoping, though with bills I do have my gas and electricity on direct debit, though as the councel is my landlord so I have a fairly fixed rate for electricity and water this isnt a major problem. I personally find shopping a helpful way to give reever a walk and have a break, which is why I wouldnt substitute online shopping, I also do as you do with a back pack though Ive recently discovered Iceland will deliver an order from their local store by van to your house, so you can go around the shop and choose things, then dont have to carry themm back. I thus do a general shop with my backpack once a week or so, but pop down to iceland for things I need like frozen stuff, extra bottles of coak etc. I also do a specific walk to wittards to buy coffee and hot chocolate each week, which I certainly couldn
 t! do online sinse part of that involves having a smell of any new coffee they have in to see whether it meets with my high standards or not .There are two points about shop staff. Yes, they can be incredibly, amazingly dim, which is highly inconvenient. On the other hand if you know your local shop staff well the converse is true and you can get a level of assistance you wouldnt get online, eg, recommendations of stuff if theyre out, people who say you liked so and so so why not try this etc. I find that at my local marks and spensor.

Hello, lead developer of RenPy here. A few days ago, I added to RenPy support for clipboard-voicing. This is the same as self-voicing, except that it works by placing the text on the computers clipboard, where presumably it will be read out by a screenreader. In the latest nightlies and the eventual 6.99 release, it can be accessed by typing shift+C.

That isnt how direct debit for electricity works, direct debit is if you are being billed in a post pay system where you receive a monthly or quarterly bill. Many rented properties instead of having the usual postpay meter have a prepay meter with credit, that way if the tenants disappear the landlord isnt left footing the bill. This credit is bought in shops using either a card or a key, the key essentially being a similar size to a particularly long flash drive but with a proprietary connection, and certain shops have a reader that the card or key goes into. You pay the shop for the credit, the shop puts the credit onto the card or key and presumably pay the utility company on your behalf.I suppose it is possible they could run a direct debit straight onto the meter, though if so I havent heard of this. Its also very likely youll either end up accumulating masses of extra credit or else running out, and believe me you will use a lot more gas 
 in winter than summer so it all varies depending on the weather among other factors.As for shopping remember youll have to get your shopping from the shop to the taxi and from the taxi to your home. I usually use a backpack for shopping so Im limited to what I can fit in the backpack, since I need one hand for dog or cane and the other for finding doors and just generally feeling out for things. Between that and the potential communication difficulty with the staff in the shop, not to mention the fact that its easier for me to find an alternative in the online shop if they dont have exactly what I want, I just find ordering it far easier. I usually get something like two weeks worth of stuff in from ordering online then grab anything extra I mighght want in the local shop.Its always a good idea to give these kinds of things a go before you move out on your own, that way you dont find yourself having to rely on an arrangement you have
 nt tested and getting stuck. Im sure your parents would be willing to let you sort out some shopping for them as a test run if you wanted.Youll also never, ever meet members of your preferred gender if you live like a hermit and even if by some miracle you did they wouldnt be interested in you. If that doesnt bother you thats fine but its worth being aware of.

We were comparing experiences and the fact that people in wheel chairs get better treatment, and one thing she came up with was the fact that a lot has to do with basic body symetry, ie, a person who was just! in a wheel chair but otherwise looked normal, or a person with say an artificial limb would get on far better than say someone with severe scoliosis, or a slightly twisted body etc as regards reactions from others. Hi.For me, everything will be direct debit. I just find it easier to work with. Bills, electric and water, as for meting women, sure it would be nice but honestly Ive kind of given up on that. As for staff not being helpful, well Ill admit Ive not gone out without my nan before apart from when in college and even that was with someone, but the staff have aalways been nice to me and honestly, if theyre not theres always other staff and sites online.Although I ddid go on the train a couple of times by myself, that was fun.As for living like a hermit. The only group youd get in is probably a rowing group and since thats not my thing, I wouldnt want to join it.I could look around my local area for groups, that could be interesting, but as I say this is years away, Im going to try to get my own place but if I dont, Ive got years yet.Sure, Im going to be nervous as hell, Ill try to go out on my own but it will be super scary if Im being honest. Thats why Im trying to get a flat before my grandparents die and Im left alone with no idea what to do or where to go. Sure my aunties and all that can help, but in the end its down to me.

This should probably be in development, but Ive done some looking into this and happened to glance at general for a change.The short answer is no, but soon.The long answer:Webaudio, itself, only exists fully in Chrome and is still a moving specification to my knowledge-the HRTF panning capabilities have been in Firefox for maybe a couple months, MDN is filled with this is deprecated in the latest spec warnings and tons of incompleteness, etc. Porting specifically for Chrome may be possible, but is not worth any developers time: the number of blind people actually using Chrome as a primary, secondary, or even tertiary browser is quite small, and this would be a significant effort-especially because youd be effectively downloading the game every single time you played it, which necessitates some clever coding and a server to make it not have a minute or more start-up time for lots of people. Most Webaudio demos do not work 
 outside Chrome; it is incredibly hit or miss as to whether a sample is going to actually do what the author says, usually failing by doing nothing at all (at least in my experience).As for Webaudio as a hypothetically complete and stable API, though, it actually looks nice if minimal. The shortcoming is that it doesnt actually provide anything more advanced than a basic biquad filter. Admittedly, thats a building block of everything more advanced, but the point stands-you still need to code everything more advanced. The limit of the environmental capabilities without extra middleware is limited to something called convolution reverb, which requires pre-recorded data that few here besides myself could make an attempt at without a very detailed tutorial or some higher end software. The irony is that this group is probably not the programmers, its probably the musicians who own something like Soundforge.But Webaudio isnt all b
 ad. The interface itself is quite nice and, once every browser offers it, I suspect the ecosystem will explode. People are rightly complaining about bugs at the moment, sure, but Im actually moving libaudioverse to basically match their spec as closely as possible. The interface itself is clean even if the implementations tend to be lacking right now, and someone just has to basically do Libaudioverse, the web version. This will not happen from me, but it will happen-its actually pretty easy, probably a hundred times easier than Libaudioverse or a similar effort-and theres enough sighted people that care.The only open question I have about Webaudio at the moment is to do with performance-some of the stuff I know about _javascript_ and how these architectures tend to work is raising red flags. But I have no excuse for this question, as I can profile easily enough.As for the bigger issue, that is interface. In theory, mov
 ing to the web gives a lot. In practice, Aria will probably be a horribly broken mess for at least 2 more years. When Aria actually starts fully working, however, were looking at desktop app style UI in your browser if you use it properly. This means that you could do Shades of Doom, but actually build all the menus and everything in such a way that you can use spelling functionality, etc. Perhaps the biggest gain we will see here is that HTML tables work, writing _javascript_ code to move the focus with keystrokes is easy, there are all those wonderful form controls, and consequently you have a very convenient way to make level editors and mapping stuff-not to mention using them for displaying stats about inventory items, including allowing sorting. But at the moment Aria works very inconsistently across the 20 or so possible combinations-in some cases not at all-and so we cant yet gain anything from it.if I had to put a time estimate o
 n this being technically possible, it would be about 6 months ago. If I had to put a time estimate on this being worthwhile in that it would actually reach and be usable for a significant number of users without a great deal of technical knowledge while actually providing improvements over the current approach, 3 to 5 years. A lot of that is needing screen reader improvements, and NVDA is the only one that actually moves super quickly on Aria bugs as far as I can see.

As you know Ive done a fare amount of on stage type stuff and would do more if directors werent such scumbags, though I generally hold myself to be a singer who can vaguely act rather than an actor who can sing.Partials is finally picking up and proving interesting. The series name is just partials I think because the genetically created super soldiers are part human or similar. Its got an interesting premise in that there is a virus which kills babies hours after theyre born so no new children have been born for 11 years, the humans believed the partials released this but Im not sure. Unfortunately though my friend didnt have the best time sinse she read the book while she was pregnant which probably was a bad coincidence,  sort of like my unfortunate reading of assassins apprentice when I was going through some rather hard guide dog training with Reever .When Ive finished partials I have something very awsome to start, Firefight by brandon sanderson, and of course Ive still got my huge run of Doctor who audios to continue as well.

Hi,Firstly you dont need an original CD, youll need the CD image of the game. You know, the ISO, mdf or ccd. Burn it into a CD with Alcohol 120% as I described.Second, you will need Virtual Box. This program is capable of running virtual machines, that is, computers inside computers. Youll need to create a Windows XP virtual machine to play this game, and for this youll need a CD image of its installation disk. Im sure youll find it. Note that the creation process of the machine is not accessible, and you need to install a screen reader in it, so youlll need sighted help.Virtual Box has some accessibility problems. I think it works reasonably with NVDA and its OCR addon.So, with all this set (the machine created and with a screen reader), youll need to link the virtual CD drive with the real one. After doing this, boot the virtual machine, let Starforce to be installed the first time and reboot, and after that
 , play!I know, quite a long process. Im not posting links because I dont know if I can do so because of legality reasons, but if you want a demo in audio of how all this works, be sure to ask.

Interesting app, will definitely try to grab it, sooner or later.Since that video call is only working with a stable internet connection, it is ABSoLUTELY NOT! recommendable to try crossing the street with it! As mentioned before, use your cane, your ears and your OM abilities you should have.And who knows how quick the video transfer is, usually, it sometimes takes at least one second to transfer the video from one side to the other. And this fact is very important then. Be aware you are trying to cross a street with help of a person who just see what you show them. Its nobody walking next to you, who would more focus on the environment, which you probably cant really show them.

Hello audio gamers (and developers),I have recently been experimenting with BGT, but I’ve ran into the following issue:If I define a function within a class, such as:Class object{Void example () {// some code goes here.}}Then I want that same function (but modified):Class wheel: object{Void example() {// old code// new code.}}I guess my question is:Is there a way to include the code from the function in the top class without having to copy it? Depends what programming language it was in. If its java, or one of the C family languages, it wouldnt be overly difficult to port to IOS. not sure about any other programming languages. I dont actually have any experience with programming in IOS.

@Turtlepower, Solona crashed and burned because it didnt work and the volunteers really werent nice to deal with. When I tried it I was told that page has no capture immage code then when I tried again and attempted to explain that yes in fact the page did the person threatened to ban me from the server. I tried on another page with the same result, ie, not working and no help, so I am not surprised Solona is no longer around. Ive not really tried any of these aps, either tap tap See or the others (I did hear of one of the barcode ones that was rather Us specific), though it might be something that could come in useful on occasion though perhaps not for crossing the street. Ill probably wait to hear how this goes and if it works out look at trying it myself.

Ive got three separate games running right now in three different folders, each one with a different starter. I just went through the S.S. Anne with my Ivysaur and the rest of my team, and noticed that some of the items mentioned in the walkthrough on Bulbapedia are either not present or very, very well-hidden. One of the items didnt ping me before I found it. One of the items I couldnt find was the TM for Body Slam, though that might just not be in the game for some reason. I dunno. Thought I should report it anyways.

Hello,@dark: I cant say Ive heard of the ipartials series, but it sounds fun. I remember buffy from quite a while ago but didnt really watch too much of it.I hope your Mum gets better soon.As for me, at first act, my drama group, were rehearsing for our upcoming show in March, and it seems different from anything weve done in the past, so Im very excited, and I have some lines to say and get to do a solo song in the second act!

I cant remember off hand, but I think Kyleman is right. I am pretty sure the level requirement is only for leading missions.Dark, it seems like doing a mission by yourself would help you ease yourself into doing missions, but actually I think going with a group would be much easier on you. By having a guy or 2 who already have experience, your actions can only help them but are not actually required to complete the mission. Basically even if you cant quite figure out what you want to be doing on the first handful of missions, other players are there to ensure you can still complete it. I dont think youll have any trouble finding a few guys willing to take you along on a mission theyre already planning to do. Even something in chat like Im super new to missions, is anyone willing to take me along on theirs so I can get some practice? is probably all youd have to do. We have some very hel
 pful players in Swamp, and Im sure everyone remembers how intimidating missions were for them at first too.

Just checked the rules of the slot machines on Bulbapedia and then went back to my game, which I had saved in the Game Corner. I got three 7s across the middle row but didnt win.. What did I do wrong? Arent you supposed to win if you get three in a row horizontally or diagonally when you put in three coins?

That is class inheritance.Basically class inheritance allows for an object to based upon another, IE a webpage based upon a template possibly. the class inheriting from the base class now hsa access to the exact same methods and fields as the base class as they now apply to this one. Therefore its easier to make things such as different enemy types that all use the same base as a template, etc.
