This is one of the reasons why I dont go on here much anymore. There were certainly issues in the past, such as the whole tournament of the 9 kings business or the very first release of acefire, but come on. This dirty lawndry thing is getting old. Some people really have to start being aware of the fact that its a public forum theyre posting to. Its sad how many topics need to be closed because of all the drama.

Again, sinse braillemon is very much still in beta I wouldnt count it as completely filling the needs for an rpg, just as We could all say Oh we have such and such a game so dont need another For example, i might say that between three topspeed games, rail racer, Mac one, audio speed and now Audio rally racing we hardly need another racing game, particularly sinse personally racing games arent that interesting to me. However, that is only a drop in the ocean as compared to what is available for sighted gamers, and there are certainly many things that audio racing games have never done or features that many mainstream racing games take as standard (such as car customization), which do not exist in any audio racing game at all.So, even though I personally have zero interest in a racing game, Id never tell a developer not to develop one or try to shout down the views of those who wanted one.Ditto with the above comment on
  an audio American football game. I have little to no interest in sports games, and particularly a sport which is not played in the Uk and which I dont even understand the rules to. However, I certainly wouldnt be anti an American football game if a developer wanted to make one despite the fact Jim Kitchin already has one. The same could be said for first person shooter games. We have shades of doom, Technoshock, audio quake, Swamp, all the swamp campaigns, road to rage, and to an extent terraformers and Gma tank commander. Yet Id never say that we dont need another fps or couldnt do with an fps with more complete and advanced features than what we have seen thus far.So, might I suggest that everyone just continue mentioning their own preferences for desired games and stop trying to shout down the preferences of other people, sinse as I said, other than left right sterrio targeting games, space invaders games and boppit games there really 
 isnt! a genre of audiogames that we have enough of.

@arjan I dont think things are quite that bad, its only a couple of people who have the issue, and though they are very loud about that issue sinse the board now has many more members and a lot more things going on at once, its easy enough to stay out of the firing line as most people do.I am however ather bothered if this spector of flame wars regarding online games is tainting the experience of long standing members, just another reason these shenanigans need to stop.

Yep Aaron, Ive rarely encountered dub artists in anime who can sing. not never, sacora wars (even though the hole thing is really popcorn and a bit silly), actually surprised me with how well the English voice cast coped with the songs. By the same tocan, the spy story Licensed by royalty had a song sung really nicely and indeed translated rather well given that the song is a major part in the plot and a clue to whats really going on.On the other hand when we were watching Mahoromatic, which generally had a pretty good dub as these things go, at the scene when Mahoro sings a traditional folk song while we heard it in English my brother also switched over to the Japanese track. Then again its not as if all Japanese singing is good either, the theme tunes to Noir and Kenshin still set my teeth on edge withc just how out the singers were. Oh, and if anyone knows anywhere good for anime soundtracks Id love! the music to attack on Tita
 n, epic metal at its best.

Sounds good. One thing I will say regarding access is remember you can use the speak hints on voiceover to add additional information to buttons and controls that will not be visible on screen. This is great for displaying stats and other info. I also think there is a way to get labels to speak without having the label next to the button, sinse i recall another game had the same issue. Ill also note that for testing purposes, if on Ios you turn voiceover on, you can also turn on the screen curtain with a triple tap of three fingers. I did have one developer mention that this helped a lot in access design sinse then they had a better idea what detailed needed showing when all you had to rely on was voiceovers reading of the on screen text.As to the graphics and descriptions, its more sort of a matter of giving a Vi player a bit of info on atmosphere. For example right now I have no idea what the differences between an elf and a moon elf might be
 , what colour their hair is, what their build is etc. of course, that sort of detail isnt essential for playing the game,but its a really nice addition when it is there. I also definitely approve of hiding formulae, sinse personally I never liked minimaxing numbers as much as matching general descriptions, eg, Id much rather combine two attacks by their effects than sit and actually have to calculate the percentages to every last digit.Certainly let us know about any updates and also when your new game comes out as well.

Hello,haha, what a way to wake up to the audiogames forum posts. I msut admit, this has made me laugh a lot, so bonus points for randomness and funniness. I had a similar thing happeon on Teamtalk once, someones cat jumped all over their keyboard and kept sending chat messages, and it was meowing at the microphone as well which just made everything even funnier. hi aprone, I think we should be able to restore our chars only once a month if we get the instant bug rather than waiting for you to take time out just to restore a char, obviously it would be controlled server side so it looks at the debug info for that char and determine whether it was an instant death bug and not us trying to pull a fast one. I remember a fiew versions ago we could do this but it was open to abuse. what yall think?

@johnnytoThe game is probably closer to Streetfighter, but nowhere near as complicated regarding inputs (theres no 360 or other strange motions for ultras or any other moves.)A quick update to say that Aria, the final character of Season 2 (officially at least), is due to release today. I am kind of looking forward to trying her out, in spite of the fact that shes seemingly quite tricky to use due to her 3 health bars and all the mechanics they introduce.Let us hope that Season 3 will happen and if it does, that its just as good and enjoyable.

Hello,Did you use the combo box to get to it? If so, unfortunately the combo box is broken right now, it still hasnt been fixed. This basically means to get to games you have to go the long way round and view them in the game list which can be found on the front page.

I did have one developer mention that this helped a lot in access design sinse then they had a better idea what detailed needed showing when all you had to rely on was voiceovers reading of the on screen text.As to the graphics and descriptions, its more sort of a matter of giving a Vi player a bit of info on atmosphere. For example right now I have no idea what the differences between an elf and a moon elf mi
 ght be, what colour their hair is, what their build is etc. of course, that sort of detail isnt essential for playing the game,but its a really nice addition when it is there. I also definitely approve of hiding formulae, sinse personally I never liked minimaxing numbers as much as matching general descriptions, eg, Id much rather combine two attacks by their effects than sit and actually have to calculate the percentages to every last digit.Certainly let us know about any updates and also when your new game comes out as well.

I think its called magic tap because its a general action command (listen to what Vo says about it if you go to settings and voice over practice). Its used to start and stop music video recording or the stopwatch, take photos etc, indeed I wonder if it is a vo gesture or just a general programmable gesture that developers can use if they wish like A dark room and The Ensign did, using it for the accessible version of the map instead of the ascii version.Its a handy thing to remember though if a dev wants to give more information or an action in a game, Im not sure what it could be used for in Adventure to fate, looking at monster or item info? reading descriptions or extra stats that cant be put on screen? but its certainly there if developers want to use it, just like the Speak hints or send text to voiceover functions. These sorts of things are handy sinse they mean developers can giv Vo necessary information wi
 thout cluttering the display, sinse often I tend to find developers worst worry in access terms is having to include a big tonne of text for screen reading to explain what information is given graphically for sighted users, but as with the chief positions and personal and stats in King of dragon pass this isnt needed to show on screen at all, well not on Ios anyway.

looks like I might not be streaming today. I just did a test stream, and after I stopped the stream and the game my pc turned off. It didnt even show that it was shutting down, it just turned off. No warnings or anything.Using OBS.

The issue with Evennia is that you have to build everything: rooms, items, objects, etc... into the MUD codebase. Id prefer a MUD engine that already had that in, as well as admin commands. From looking at Evennias source code, it seems that its a literal copy of PennMUSH with a broken down feature set. At least, thats what it seemed to me.

The only difference is that there is a behind_volume_decrease in sound_positioning.position_sound_2d. Please note, this expects pygame sounds.KeyC includes my six-button key configuration class, and save/load functions to go with it.Colors.py loads the big list of colors in colors.ini, and makes it easier to reference them by name, determine the name of a given color, or just do operations on colors (comparisons, converting from int to float, darker, brighter, invert).Palettes.py is for 8bit color palettes. I dont think I did it right. I made this one mostly because blending colors with alpha values is slow, yet I want to (*kicks the fabric of space and time*) make games with shadow/under water/firelight/etc effects, so g
 ood old-fashioned palette-swapping seemed like a decent improvement over alphas.(Im not going anywhere near OpenGL until my brain is at least as mighty as it was in 2005. Hence, palette swaps.)

Yes, why not? This is similar to the persistent games issue, because it would require to send the state of the game to the player.https://github.com/soundmud/soundrts/issues/52Its already possible to replay a multiplayer game though, even if the spectators wont be able to comment as soon as the game ends.Also, I think that some games allow the player to replace the computer.

Unfortunately the same problem that affects the combo box also seems to affect links within db entries, (I got that link from the games list so I know it was working). As I said Arjan, there is a lot else going on too, even with the games that are the subjects of these wars like deathmatch a new beginning (which is a very good game and doesnt deserve the drama). Entombedd ii, the top 25 list, continual updates to beatstar, the foralltoplay people getting game suggestions, not to mention on the Ios scene a new rpg, and those are just the things that are going on that occur to me at the second and there are likely more of them too.

Lol I didnt read every post I guess. A cat meowing in the microphone? [[wow]] that had to be annoying. Hey, I might let mine step around the keyboard, but not if Im in a call because he might hit the button to turn off wireless capability. Hi.One of the problems associated with complete MUD codebases is that they have lots of stuff you probably wont ever need and that make your MUD look like simple coppys of those codebases. In coffeemud for example, there are hundreds of custom abilities, races and object classes directly integrated in the code. It would take weeks if not longer for you to get rid of all the code you dont want, just for your MUD to look original. So writing most systems from scratch isnt as bad as you might think, especially since barebones MUD codebases like evennia already have the basic stuff like the telnet infrastructure and base room/character classes you can use in their existing forms or modify. Though if you dont have any programming experiance or are just starting out with mud creation you should use something like coffeemud to get a feel for the stuff youre going to need to make an original, playable MUD.

@Genroa, theres your problem right there. Java. To create commands and other things, such as a Hello, World! command, it takes over 45-60 lines of code; in Dawn of time, to create a simple Hello, World! command, it takes 4 lines to do so. plus, the game is a huge memory hog. I used it for a MUD and it took up almost 1 GB of RAM. Do you see any other MUD engine taking more than 100-200 MB of RAM? Also, the _javascript_ interpreter that CoffeeMUD uses is different from the web _javascript_ we use to make web pages non-static. Also, modifying the code is insanely difficult. In Dawn of Time, I just go to the src directory, and if I want to add a wizard command, go to act_wiz.cpp, add the code, add it into the command table, compile it, and Im done. For CoffeeMUD, I have to recompile the entire MUD to add one command and make it work properly.

So on my knight, I just got to level 15 and gained a crush skill . While it seems somewhat powerful, it doesnt appear to be useful until later in the game unless Im doing something wrong, mainly due to it taking up all of your stamina points at that time . Im very stuck on a battle with a priestess And two mummies at the moment. While I can eventually kill her and sometimes one of them , no combination of skills I have tried so far has worked Think I will gain the next level by replaying a few stages, and see if I can craft something that will be useful . .

The topic in new releases closed some time ago due to various drama its in general now.The server, well dont know.I dont want to get into trouble again for being a rambly bastard so in short.Its either being worked on, the game is always getting new things added.The server has crashed the server crashes a lot and will probably continue to do so as things are added and new bugs encountered.But since I have only as of this minute come online I havnt processed the internal coms yet.It will pop up unless it actually has had some sort of hardware failier.

Hello,The best thing I can think of is either sound tap, total recorder, or virtual audio cable.I myself use virtual audio cable. Virtual audio cable in my opinion is the best way of doing this.Hope this helps.

Yes, Peter Meijers The vOICe software, ive been working with some of his source code: (http://www.seeingwithsound.com/im2sound.htm), for game engine applications for the past few weeks. Fairly difficult to find much on the subject outside academic papers, although I did find some research on incorporating color spectrums using instruments during sweeps, something id like to look into at some point.I managed to port some of the code to python and integrate parts of it into some engines, and have been experimenting with sonified depth maps for first person environments, among others. If your interesting I can show you what ive come up with so far, though im still working on performance issues.As for Mr Meijer himself, he seems to be busy working closely with members of the Raspberry Pi community to create affordable Sonifying Kits for the non-sighted.

Hi Audazzle. I very much approve of and support this approach to unify the gaming community so blind and sighted people can have equal footing on games. Being a particularly obsessive gamer myself Ive also tried various videogames and found them to work because they unintentionally were designed in such a way that the sounds were enough to play it. But that still isnt equal footing as that only applies to a few games, street fighter and mortal combat in particular. Theres also games like Skullgirls, mainstream games that have speech that you can enable, but thats not set up out of the box. This is why I love your mision statemtnt. Ive signed up to beta test your games. Ive already bought jumpin saucers I didnt even bother with the free version, I went right ahead with the paid version, and I honestly do not regret it one bit. Yeah, Omars right. Or GoldWave, theres a setting called loopback (your external soundcard name, e.g. speakers) in the devices tab o the control properties, and the options are in the recording combo box. but a least, on my computer, it sounded a bit...weird, but not to the point that its not understandable. If you need to record both your voice and stereo mix, maybe record stereo mix with one device, your voice with another, and mix them after youre done?

Hello all. @Danny. Ive just installed DMNB today. For some reason, no sapi voice, or any other voice, speaks in the opening menu, and when I did somehow stumble into game play, there was no sapi voice there either. I have downloaded death match alpha, and the voice in that game works for me no problem. I should note that I have already tried uninstalling, redownloading, and reinstalling the game.  I run windows 8.1. Is there anything I can try to fix this issue? Thanks so much for your hard work and great games.

@Burak yeah I think you are right. This Bathab person was on playroom when I used to get on, and he didnt know much English. As for motoroto, I really dont know what that means, but well with some one who is extremely inexperienced (I dont mean that in a rude or flaming standpoint, but its just fact) with speaking English, you never know.@Dark is reever your cat? If so and she actually pushes your wrist up like that, rofl that has to be annoying. Because there has to have been a time when shes pushed it up, only for it to come banging down and typing a set of letters which youd had no intent to type. Now that, is Class A Spam, caused by a cat. Ive never had that done before... probably because my elbos block the cat from getting to my hands.

And the worst reever does is come and put her paw on my knee, or stick her nose under one of my wrists while Im typing and push upwards with insistance so my fingers leave the keys,  which usually for her has the desired affect because she then gets her ears scratched . Then again one advantage of a wireless keyboard is I can lie on my settee with Reever curled up on my feet and still type and play games and what not, i can even play audiogames thanks to my sanheisa headphones having a long cable, and Reever is more than intelligent enough to know that walking between me and my computer with a cable stretched across would not be a good idea .So, the moral here would seem to be, dogs cause less spam than cats, .

Sam, I have a proposition for you.Can you replace the ultrasound. its sounds after you connect to the server 5 to 10 seconds. Thats why when you connect it sounds? A low health, ultrasound last very long. Beats strongly on the ears.
