I agree with musicman, except for when he asked if people had beaten q9 on insane, and yes, i have beaten it on insane survival mode because you can fortune field your way up to immortality. Other than that, the enemies act the same but just have loaded up on health and damage. It would be cool if the enemies could just do additional stuff, or had longer range or something, like you could have the normal gremlins using bows or swords instead of knives, and the boss gremlin using a crossbow or something instead of a bow. ZBomber birds could make their bomb countdowns shorter, but not too much of course. Difficulty levels are something that must be applied with a fine-toothed comb. I admit when I made Battle Zone that my difficulty levels were basically just making the enemy stats higher, though I did make it so that the enemies on the top two levels would retreat from your sword, giving them extra chances to hit you as they ran back. I was also a lot younger back then. I am very ca
 reful about difficulty levels now when I test my games.

And before anyone jumps in here and just assumes that we haven't tried long enough yet, if you've beaten the game on hard, or more particularly impossible, share any tips on how it'ssupposed to be done or share a recording if you would be so kind. Not attacking anyone here, just agreeing on the fact that difficulty means more than simply ramping up enemy health and damage.

oh yeah, guys, sorry bout double posting, but i've got a good idea just a minute ago! well, probably not as good as it seems to me, but anyway... and it's not an idea actualy, but a few questions. why don't people want to travel with broken arms? i can understand it when legs are broken, but about arms... yes, it hurts like hell, but your legs are fine, goddammit, just get up and go! um okay, alright, ya cannot go, your ankle is broken. guys, can you just make something from building materials for dragging this poor man? it often happens when there's almost no way for finding splints, and if one of the characters broke something, it means he's already dead and that would be easier to drop him. and one more wierd thing: i'm not sure, but it seems noone has died cause of bleeding yet. so, bandages are totaly useless, arn't they? duno, brochachos, may be i want too much, but i see this game as something realistic, just cause i want to. i were playin

Their are several walkthroughs for the game in the articles room on this site, though what I do is rappidly move around away from the enemies. If they back me up into a wall I generally move right towards them, for the normal enemies their's a split second before they grab you. If your shooting and moving at the same time you should be able to eliminate them no problem.

@DarkThe points you make are interesting ones and I haven't read the Kipling stories you mentioned.  Might have to see if I can find those anywhere - it's an odd theory but one that in that time probably made sense.As for your Doctor Who references, I didn't remember 10th Planet having an exact year attached to it.  However, I haven't heard that story for a long time, I'll have to go back and look at it in the future...The argument that the actions of the time traveller, in this franchise's case Doc Brown, can change the world's future, which is why everything hasn't happened yet, is plausible at least to a certain degree - to quote The Girl Who Died and Capaldi, "ripples and tidal waves".One thing that I would like to see, which I guess there's a chance of, is an accessible back to the future game, no matter how small.  I mean we don't see sighted mod developers for things like t

Been quietly browsing this forum, time for a big thankyou.

I started on Python 2 months ago, and worked my way through "Learn Python the hard way".  I installed Pyinstaller and some friends gave me kindly encouragement on my tiny programs, such as pig, solving quadratics, a tiny strategy game, and nminiture text adventures etc.  I moved onto pygame and worked my way through "Invent with Python".  Then onto accessible_output2.  A small game project is becoming possible now.  Half the stuff on this forum I do not understand, but the half I do understand has been extremely valuable.  I have not posted up questions, mainly because most of my questions already had good advice.  For example: picking a language that suits, sticking at a tutorial, building things with the tools you have.  There have also been valuable posts to help with my coding dilemmas, sometimes here, sometimes elsewhere, but I can't thank the whole web community, so I'm thanking you lot, you'll just h

H I've never experienced any of these issues. I do know if your pyrian, if you have a beacon set in your ship, just beacon out and go buy a charge booster, then go back to your ship via beacon and use the booster, then you should be all good.

Darth, to be honest I can't remember why I set broken arms to keep people from traveling.  There may have been a reason but I've forgotten it at the moment.    As for bleeding, it's true that currently your people will never actually die from it.  That is on my list of things to add.I have been busy with coding other things so I've sort of neglected Paw prints for the time being.  Hopefully I swing back to pop out another update for it before too much time passes.Oh, and I think the journal idea is cool.

You just can't let them get close enough to you. Use the bow or the sword to hit them, and as soon as you make your attack, jump away from them im the direction you approached them from. If you repeat this processand hit them three times, I believe, they should be history. :-)Hope this helps,Lukas

Interface: Is there any way the skill and perk point assignment screens could accept arguments? Lets say I have 25 skill points and want to assign them all to health. Right now, I have to press 4, enter 25 times, and this just escalates as you acquire more points. It'd be nice if you could do something like 4 * 25 to apply 25 points to it. There would of course need to be some checks to make sure you couldn't do 4 * 100 and apply points you didn't really have, but boy would this save me from carpel tunnel while playing this game. lol. Especially while assigning perks that are double digit... typing 18, enter, multiple times, is so tedious.

Hi Sc. I've not actually seen all of Kapaldy yet, because my parents Sky plus harddrive went poof and lost it's contents, the last thing I saw was the Witches familiar. I'm not too sorry, I'll grab them on catchup at some point and it's only moffat after all, though saying that the first two parter with Davros wasn't as dreadful as it might have been  being written by moffat, though of course nothing can do Davros like I Davros did in the audioss, some of my favourites. Anyhow, back to back to the future. You can actually get audio described versions of the films from the blindmice movie vault. Find it here The bad news is they're not in sterrio though they do have a lot of films. The only annoying thing I find is whenever I want to use their si
 te I seem to need to reset my password for some odd reason.On the plus side though, you can download what you want of the audio described films and tv series for free. The dvds I have of the three back to the future films aren't described unfortunately, though I can recommend the books, they're surprisingly fun, and described very well. Calibur used to have them.The Kipling stories are amusing, though written with Kipling's usual irony, though one thing I will say for them is much as Kipling was entirely wrong about the ramifications of aeroplanes, he interestingly enough did! predict the human isolation caused by long distance communication rather well, which is quite something for a man who was writing in a world which barely had telephones, and wouldn't see radio until five years after he wrote the story.As to the idea of Dock Brown's trips in time changing the future, that could actually make an awesome idea for a game if you t
 hink about it. Maybe it turns out the principle reason we don't! have hover boards and all the stuff Marty saw, is because that future was predicated on the idea of a past where the Delorian was buried in a cave back in the 1890's and only rediscovered 100 years later, and it was in fact the technology seen in the delorian such as the hover circuits which fueld the rapid progress of technology in the early 21st century, although the time travel capability itself was never worked out (it did take doc brown 30 years to invent the thing). I'm not sure where the game could go with this, sinse it'd depend upon what you wanted to do in the game, but I thought that was a nice idea for a sequel .

Well, maybe it is because you are climbing up and down on the mountins, and sometimes need boath arms to hold yourself ... but people are usually smart, and can build strange things when left in the wild, probably. So they probably could build something to transport that person.

Worryingly enough what I can get of this trailer confirms something I was discussing with my brother. He stated (as in fact Plinkit did),  that Abrams' startrek remake was all about the emotion and the action. It was a relatively nice action film, not a particularly good or worthwhile startrek film and fairly forgettable. With the usual Hollywood "I'm! going! to emphasise! some words! - and pause! dramatically before ending abruptly!" I do wonder  whether we'll get a substantive film or just a romp, particularly looking at a few of the details on wikipedia. For example, apparently this ever so evil snoke! (sorry but I can't but say that name without laughing), is head of "the first order!" as is one of the characters, so what have we got, some sort of random Sith army? Sorry but again that feels like "oh look jedi are cool, so what if there are a hole lot of evil jedi in an army!" rathe
 r than people actually considering what the dark side of the force really entails and how afective just the basic character story of Luke vs Vader was in the original trilogy, indeed you didn't need a mystical dark side, it was all there in Luke gunning for the person who killed his teacher who then turns out to be his father, while Vader has to realize what having a son means.Bottom line, it's the characters conflict that make the magical conflict work so well, not the other way around.Still, we'll of course have to wait and see, and hay it might be surprisingly good. Btw, I do rather like Williams epic arrangement of the return of the jedi theme, then again Williams is awesome! INdeed whatever bad stuff there is to say about the prequals, at least the music  rocks!

In this particular case, I have to say I agree as well. Easy and normal seem just fine for the gate, the way it's set up, and I even dare to say these particular two difficulty levels seem to be extremely carefully balanced. But as for the higher ones, I think I'm not even going to try them unless the way they work is changed in the future. Normal is entertaining and challenging to the point where I still like it and it seems fair to me, but having tried nightmare in the first level and not being able to complete it, my mind is made up. :-)Lukas

oh yeah, guys, sorry bout double posting, but i've got a good idea just a minute ago! well, probably not as good as it seems to me, but anyway... and it's not an idea actualy, but a few questions. why don't people want to travel with broken arms? i can understand it when legs are broken, but about arms... yes, it heards like hell, but your legs are fun, goddammit, just get up and go! um okay, alright, ya cannot go, your ankle is broken. guys, can you just make something from building materials for dragging this poor man? it often happens when there's almost no way for finding splints, and if one of the characters broke something, it means he's already dead and that would be easier to drop him. and one more wierd thing: i'm not sure, but it seems noone has died cause of bleeding yet. so, bandages are totaly useless, arn't they? duno, brochachos, may be i want too much, but i see this game as something realistic, just cause i want to. i were playin
 g yesterday and writing something like a story, that looks like a character's diary. and i got it not too bad, believe me  may be i'll find some time for translating it to you, if you're interested of course.

Hello,the later levels in hard, very hard, and nightmare are to my liking, but earlier levels on all three are slightly problematic.Well, not so much hard actually, but very hard and nightmare for sure.I will have some small tweaks in the next version, including starting with the sword on very hard and nightmare.I will also make small tweaks to the second, and possibly the third, boss on very hard and nightmare.Hard will probably stay the same, to be honest.I don't really see too much of a problem with hard just right now, since you don't technically have to knife the ghosts, and if you do, you can always jump back a bit.It's called hard for a reason, it is probably going to take you several several more times on the bosses than you are used to on other difficulties.Regards,Aaron

Hi guys.Warning: Don't buy the third game in the series. This game is so bugged so I have given up on playing it. I was stuck at the same place. I  don't remember how to solve this, but starting from the very beginning again solved my issue so I could continue. THe issue in this game is that sometimes it fails so it won't let you continue unless you are doing the right thing, and you need to start from the beginning again. I have done this three times, and I don't find it worth it because of this bug.

Bug in Inquisitor 3?

I finally got around to startingg this chapter after completing the first two. For the record I refer to the IOS version.SPOILER!I've gotten to the part just after you present gifts to the twin sisters, but I'm stuck in the area with the waterfall. After talking to Medusa a few times, using the root as a whip and kneeling on the pebbles the only option seems to be taking the waterfall. Unfortunately when I do this all that happens is that Father Corona says his hands are dry. And yet when I call for divine help it does the same thing, taking the waterfall. So either there's a bug or I've missed something painfully obvious. Any help would be appreciated.

@Wastelander,  actually  I should've done a db page for the wastes earlier, the same as I should've done a db page for lots of games. In fairness for once I do have a rather better excuse than "I'm a lazy so and so who would rather play games than write about them even if it's supposed to be his job" sinse I've not even been playing much by way of games recently. The reason for this is more of a who than a what, a who who happens to be the most wonderful individual on the planet and who loves me for some reason,  okay I'll stop this before I eradiate everyone with general sunny goodwill and ridiculous sweetness. Suffice it to say that pretty much three out of every five thoughts I've had sinse the start of September have not exactly been my own .I have however today manage to actually stop thinking a
 bout my lady for a little time and have begun a db description page for The wastes, which I'll stick up along with dev info when it's done, and I'll add your dev name as huw2k8. Warsim will need a page too  as well, even if the game's not being worked on.Hopefully I should get the entry done fairly soon, in the next couple of days, though working out how much information and what to describe is fun, sinse I want there to be enough info for people to get a good overview of what the wastes is all about, but not a step by step instruction guide. Oh and yes I'll add more things later when more gets added to the game. About Vials, I do seem to have gotten the wrong end of the stick sinse I assumed the old system of different vials with chances was still in place but with randomized colours. While I do see the point in things being less predictable, sinse vials do have such a major chance of screwing you over if you hit the wrong one, perh
 aps some sort of ability to gain some information might be helpful so that you can make an educated guess rather than a stab in the dark. What I mean is something like you find a science jernal listing a given project and the success rates of five compounds corresponding to the five colours of vials, however sinse you don't know what the project was trying to do or which vial is which you have to make a guess. For example: "Project Chimera. Compound A, variable results. Compound B, a steady but unhelpful result. Compound C, a %50 success rate. Compound D, most efficacious. Compound E,  harmful results to subjects but no use to the project" Of course you don't know what project chimera or any other project does, and it might be the project was to develop a virus or mutigen, or to develop super soldiers. Still this tells you the variation rates of the vials and gives an idea, particularly if you could fi
 nd a vial with a letter on it.@Xoren, it'd be nice to have a generalized "how many" command when dealing with many choices in the game, for example getting items, indeed it might be nice if on the rare occasions you find a stack of items they could be dealt with in a pile rather than having 28 identical stacks.Perhaps a simple way of doing this would be a "h for how many" on the numeric menus, eg h5 and then your asked how many times to activate item 5,  on the menu, though obviously with the proviso that you can't take more items than there are in a pile or spend too many skill points at once.This might also be useful when we have guns and amo, sinse then you could for example have a shotgun with 12 shots and decide how many to fire in a burst while attacking.

Given the huge number of ghosts there are before you get the sword on hard, you have to use the bow, and if you use too many arrows you won't have enough for the bosses. I still think the ghosts shouldn't instantly kill you, maybe they should take off like 85% health or 90% health but insta kill is still just a manufactured difficulty to troll the player out of lives.

Dark, I love your "what if" theory about the Back to the Future timeline. This whole topic is pretty interesting. Of course, all science fiction that makes any date claims other than "the distant future" is bound to become dated in one of two ways. Either you have the 2015 of Back to the Future of the titular 2001 of Space Odyssey, in which technology is vastly superior to that which is in fact developed by the specified year...or you get the future as seen in the original Star Trek series. Admittedly, a lot of the tech in Star Trek is way above what we have now - and who knows where we'll be by the time we catch up to that show's timeline. But other tech in Star Trek looks absolutely primitive compared to today's tech (I'd take an iPhone over one of their communicators, any day). That said, science fiction does have an uncanny way of predicting general trends and shifts in technology, even if it doesn't get the details right. There are
  some interesting videos circulating about all of the things Back to the Future *did* get right.

Most players use their first skill points to increase speed, helping them to run away if they find themselves in a stick situation.You should sell the farming seeds, or any "broken" weapons you find, to get more reputation.  Players who convert themselves into hardcore characters don't take equipment with them from when they were normal characters, so you couldn't take those seeds with you anyway.  They'll serve you much better as reputation you can turn into needed ammo, armor, or weapons.

yeh this is an issue I also have with audio game devs. this whole inflated difficulty thing. Problem is devs don't even test their games to see if they're actually beatable. they just shove unrealistic difficulty stuff in there, and go, ok, it's harder now. let's release it. no, that's not how difficulty is done. Tweak the AI to make it smarter, don't give the enemies a lot more health to pretend the game is now more difficult. There's a difference between hard, and unbeatable. how many people have actually beat the gate on impossible? how about q-9? I bet the answer is 0, why? cause it can't be done due to the way the game was designed. if you got a new weapon on hard, or perhaps if you got more arrows then maybe it could be done, but not this way, a few arrows at the beginning isn't going to suddenly make the game that much easier.

I'm glad you have sounds, and maybe I could use them. I too have about a whole two terabyte hard drive full of sounds as well, but I'm looking to make this world sound epic, like you're actually living in it. I was also thinking of Philip Bennefalls music engine that you can use to build games with that responds to what's going on in the world by changing the music. I know he probably wouldn't be willing to code, but boy do I wish he'd help with sounds and or music. He could really do some cool stuff. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Hi again. This time I have a problem. You know I had to reset after a run-in with one of the characters, it seems though that said character had warned others about my change from tabby to jacques, and now, if I ask something on ooc, I get no response, also. I have gotten stuck on an asteroid yesterday. My ship went low on battery and I wasn't warned because I was in a mining vehicle. When I then asked on OOC what I can do, I got no response, and when I checked for hosts, none were available. Same happened today, I logged in to try and fix my problem, but my ship said powering down for lack of charge, and yep, still stuck on the roid..asked on OOC with no response, and no hosts were online again. Don't know if I'm even able to ask for assistance in such a case?If that's not possible, should I perhaps reset again just to get myself out of there?

 om the start of the genre, indeed if you've ever read Rudyard Kipling's air control stories (he wrote two of them), they feature a world in which Kipling proposed that flying aircraft would make war impossible sinse no country could ever have secrets or secret troop movements which would lead to a peaceful world government and an areal world peace keeping forcee, - [[wow]] did ol' Kipling get that one wrong! . One ironic thing however which Back to the future got bang right was eighties nostalgia, though I have yet to see a sentient vending machine with the face of Ronald Raygon .What worries me a little more isn't so much our lack of technologies like anti gravity, but our lack of the sort of attitude which many sf authors predicted, in
 deed the fact that in terms of social conscience, freedom, and lack of paranoyer we're probably rather behind where things were at least in the nineties, indeed the very fact that we don't! have some of the crazy fashions and outlandish obsessions predicted by back to the future worries me rather more than the lack of hoverboards, sinse right now it seems huxley or Orwell is a more accurate portrait of where we'll end up, indeed when discussing what back to the future will look like in 30 years it worries me far more that there is so little that is distinctive now!

Naruto, I don't know if this will make sense or not, but basically what we mean by "top-down" graphics is that the graphics represent things as if you were watching them from above. So the character's position is represented in the center of the screen, with things ahead of them being shown toward the top of the screen, things behind them shown toward the bottom of the screen, left and right to the left and right. At least that's how ours work, because the screen rotates as you turn, so that "forward" is always up. Honestly, the graphics only matter for those who have enough vision to use them, or for sighted players who may want to try the game as well - so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Well that's a broad question. Thing is, the procedure is different for everymake of phone, which you didn't list yours. In general, the process is:1. unlock bootloader2. flash a custom recovery utility -- like TWRP or Clockwork mod3. push over some files, either SuperUser or SU and their binaries4. configure Superuser or SU5 Install Busybox6. test to see if you have root access.I have not ever gone through this process manually because I've always had Nexus devices, and thus, can make use of the Nexus Root Toolkit by Wugfresh. Which, once you get the drivers working, which can be a pain, because you need to have good working ADB drivers, and good working Fastboot drivers, then rooting is dead simple after that. You just press unlock bootloader, wait for it to do its thing and come back, then you choose root, same. I think on motorolas, you can use a utility called MotoChop to do the deed. This is where I turn it over to tho
 se who have rooted non nexus devices and have to push and pull manually and all that.

I know this sounds crazy, but take your time. It can take a little while to figure out how everything works. It also takes time for you to figure out what your fighting stial is. Also, if you think you are getting surrounded, move and move fast. It is always better to take aim at a later time, and it could take a while for your ears and hands learn to work together in this game. Maybe start by just going after one zomby at first while building up to dealing with them while surrounded. One more thing, don't be afraid to die a few times. we all have. LOL. Just one more thing. here is the small bug i get: , when i open and play my custom map, the custom sorce isn't   play , but when i press e (enter the builder map) the custom sorce is playing nicely, could you fix this one? i really like this game, specially for the custom map...oh yeah, guys... does any of you have 3dp? , i know its old but... yeah,

Hi there everyone. I like that idea of getting hold of colleges in our area. We've got 1 4-year university and a community college and I know that the community college has a course that teaches programming. I tried it and failed beautifully at it and withdrew after the first failed test because it was so visual. So it's a long shot at best, but it's worth a try. In fact, I went to the university and have a personal friend there who used to be my professor and he would I'm sure be only too happy to help me out if he could. Nice suggestion, thanks a lot. Quite frankly I have to say that I'm very happy to get all kinds of this wonderful feedback, I never thought it would get this far. I'm glad to see that you're all behind me. Okay, so I have QWS and have worked out most of the things I need to get started. Now, about soundfonts, in particular the ones in the links above. How do I tell which soundfonts affect which instruments, and are new instruments added in some cases? If the latter is true, how do I find the new options?

This is just an idea, and I don't know how good or bad it might be.But if you're looking for coders, maybe you could make contact with college students in your area who are majoring in all things tech, and see if they'd be interested to help you get this game up and running.  I would think they might enjoy the challenge of doing something unique.
