I'll email you if you need my email, as the email that I have asosiated with my audiogames account isn't the one used for grif.Anyhow, I love the grif games, and I'd actually love to see more Grif.I'm thinking of doing playthroughs of grif 1 and 2, but the crashing bug is preventing me from hitting record at the moment But thank you for the great games, keep up the good work.

Re: Crazy Party: mini-games and card battle! (beta39)

[[wow]], I wanted to post my thaughts on this forum about  this game, and I think the time has come haha.Man, I've been playing this thing since it was announced here, and I super dooper enjoy it a lot! man I like the music, the concept and the fact that you have loads of minigames to play. But there's something that is definitly getting me real Stuck. I consider myself someone who can talk about whatever things you can imagine: science, politics, theology of course, history and so onn, but there's my criptonite, my really weak point. And that is, ladies and gentlemen, math! not only I hate math, but I really really really suck at it! you might say: but these are very simple calculations there in the intelectual world; Well, to me those aren't that simple, just because I have problems with math because of the methods my teacher used to teach me math. I can do arithmetic opereations, but if you put me  to calculate and think fast, you'll hav
e me swetting and who knows what else. For this reason I'm stuck in the game, and I seriously don't know if I'm gonna be able to progress further in the game. Its too sad really! I've tried multiplications in rith for almost 20 times, and always end up getting minus 8 points or so on.Jees, its a shame I might not be able to proceed, but other than that I love this game so much. Keep up the good work!! oh and a suggestion, it'll be nice if you guys can implement some sort of chat in order to interact with other players while logged in to a server.Today I had the opportunity to play  online, and I see that the game needs something like a chat system, that way at least you can say Hi to the others

Today I've been having fun watching the stand miniseries by stephen king with the family. I love the book and the series. The stand is my favorite apocalyptic story lol! Re: Crazy Party: mini-games and card battle! (beta39)

Hi all,Have to agree with many of the things said in post 270. I'm not into this game for the battles, card games, or online play... at least not yet. I have almost a hatred for card and strategy games. Lol. So I mostly play this thing for the adventure mode. I spent about 9 hours last night playing, and another 2 this morning. I do plan to write up a strategy guide and or make a let's play series for adventure mode. No promises though! Consider that most of my guides I've started are only half finished, if I'm lucky...A few points:There should be some kind of way to check if I'm missing mini games in a world. I've only unlocked 71 games, yet I have made it through valley, castle, forest, beach, underground, factory, volcano, intellectual, circus, darkness, and heights. I must be missing something, as I think someone said they've unlocked 107 games, if not more! Now I'm going to have to go through all the worlds, and explo
re them even more thoroughly than I already did... which to me is a nightmare, since I have no clue where passage openings are, and my spacial navigation isn't very good. I have no idea where I should even start looking for things I've missed. On the same note, how is one supposed to tell when a bonus game can be unlocked? I didn't even know until reading the forum that getting 20 points on the scenic ride in the rowboat would get you a bonus game where you followed the duck through the forest and tried to collect bonus items. I unlocked that game, but at the time didn't think anything of it. I thought it was just part of the normal path. If I am missing these bonus games, how am I to know what to try so I can strive for the remaining mini games I have yet to reach? I'm now  keeping multiple copies of my save data so I can try multiple times with multiple strategies to see what happens. It won't be fun... there should be a much clearer way of
knowing at least what to watch for so you can strive toward it, instead of restarting the program 20 times to see if something you think will work actually does something.I find navigating around walls and boundaries annoying, particularly in the beach world and in the escape the lava level in the volcano. More often than not I am frequently literally pounding my head against a wall repeatedly, as I try to figure out where safe openings are. I wish it were easier to tell where clear passages were located. No need for a wall beacon necessarily, but perhaps an echo of your step on the side the wall is on, when you are 1 or 2 steps away from the wall. This way you'll know where the walls are before hitting them. This would probably be a good compromise between ease of use and cryptic areas that make little sense because the player doesn't have an effective way to survey the landscape.I also agree that the water movement could be sped up, not even drastically, but
by 50-100 milliseconds per step.I find the English translation unclear or comical on some areas. It is quite obvious to me that the translations were done by those who speak English as a second language. This does not detract from the game, but I believe that a translation should make its best efforts to deliver in the manner of a first language speaker, as much as possible. I would like to help improve it, now that I know what the instructions are meant to say. However I cannot find the English translation anywhere. I guess it is hard coded into the game executable. I also think, though I am not certain, that to do translations, one needs to e-mail the developer to receive instructions/permission. IMHO this makes it more difficult to get work done. What is the rationale behind this?I hope writing a manual for this beast will be done soon, at least a work in progress which goes into more depth than the description on the site. More comprehensive instructions would, witho
ut a doubt, greatly reduce the amount of uninformed questions being posted, many of which were asked multiple times because people didn't want to read almost 300 posts to see if an answer to their specific question just might have shown up. It is frustrating when I read through a thread where 2 or 3 people have asked a question, and now I have to be the one to ask it again because nobody has even said so much as a word in response to the question. Not trying to blame anyone, this is really a massive beast of an awesome game, but much of it at present is illusive, at least to me and those like me who know nothing about the games which this one is inspired from. I am starting to notice that people who have experience with or knowledge of Mario Party or Pokeymon feel almost at home with this thing, once they know how it is played. I know nothing about those games or even those kinds of games really, so the adventure mode is the only place I can really find a home. Still, it's
a beautiful experience, and is pretty much worth the approx. 190 MB of disc space this

Greetings all. While I don't have an update for mac O S support, I do have a progress update to report. In keeping with the games backstory, i've begun implementing factions for online play. You'll select your starting faction during character creation. Speaking of that, their's a new account system i've put into place, way more streamlined than dmnb had. Their's also for though's who might remember the older dm versions before dmpa and dmnb, a return to older stile on sirten vessels. No, not side scroller stile, but in sound theme and look and feel. This means the orion makes its glorious return as a part of the universe. Storyline is progressing, and assuming I find a good point to stop at for it for the first beta, I might be able to release a beta soon with both offline and online features along with a linux version.

Re: accessible backup tools

Whew! Thanks to having backups, I was saved from a developer with some bad ideas. Some of the audio described movies I get are in OGG format instead of MP3. As far as I know, the Victor Reader Stream doesn't support OGG, so I have to convert them to MP3. For this I've been using FreeMake Audio Converter.Last week I got a bunch of Star Trek The Next Generation episodes from one of Ray Stars movie vaults in OGG format. Before converting them to MP3, I decided to see if there was a newer version of the FreeMake Audio Converter. There was, so I downloaded it, over writing the old setup file. That was a mistake! So what was new in the newer version? Plenty, and none of it good. First there's a new page in the installer asking for permission to installed what can be best described as spyware, the description of it in the installer comes right out and says the program will collect personally identifiable information and send it to some partner of the Fre
eMake developers. Then I discovered that the options to accept or decline the spyware weren't accessible with the tab or arrow keys, I had to use JAWS' touch cursor to access them to decline. After the install was done, my system was very sluggish and I couldn't find the responsible task, the task manager showed only about 5% CPU usage, yet it was still very sluggish. After checking that no new tasks were set to launch at start up, I rebooted, that seemed to solve the sluggishness. Then I took a look at the new audio converter, it looked the same as the old one. After some thought and deciding not to encourage the distribution of spyware, I uninstalled the new audio converter and reinstalled the version I had that had no spyware in the installer, and made a note not to update the program. And finally, I sent the developers an email, giving them my thoughts and reaction to the spyware. From now on, I will modify installer file names to include t
he version number of the program it contains. That way, older versions will not be over written by new downloads. The older versions can be deleted once I am certain I will not be needing them again.People! Grrr!

Re: Harry potter books memories from harry potter fans

Okay then but I still think a wizard school for the blind would be a great fan fic! @Dark I’m curious then why they didn’t use a word similar to philosopher and decided on a word relating to wizard. @blindcool why not sighted guide Hippogriffs? It bring a whole new kick to the after school fights. Slate and stylus though that would suck. No offence to those that use them but I never liked those. I assume that they would get new wands once everything goes back to normal if they didn’t have them. Not having a wand in the magical world is like not having an arm. I'm not sure about Harry's decision to hide the Elder Wand behind a portrait. It was either a clever idea or a really stupid one. I'd want the most powerful wand but perhaps it’s too powerful for any person? Also back to the vision thing they can clear blindness but they haven't invented magic laser corrective surgery? Still seems a bit far-fetched to me and I'd call prosthetics a work around rather than a cure but good enough. Here is another interesting thought. Photographs that can talk if the person in the photo dies are they more just left behind memories of that person, another copy of that person in the magical picture realm, or something different entirely?

Re: accessible two-way radios?

I pretty much linked to them in post 4. It comes down to what is allowed. This is sort of where I consider the FCC a little bit on the crazy side per say. It comes down to allowed power output and rather or not you can connect an outdoor antenna to it. The FCC mint the FRS band to have a range of roughly 2 miles from what I understand and for family. The GRMS they allow for an outdoor antenna, multiple wats of output and some use of repeaters. From the best I can tell, this is sort of mint for family’s too. On the MURS band things allowed for outdoor are antennas, but no data forwarding, and no repeaters. Intercom systems on this band is allowed too if I remember right. I will place some more links below.FRS MURS GRMS CBI hope that is some help. You know, the more I think about it, the more I see why people don't really care about the whole license thing on GRMS. LOL.

Re: minecraft for the blind?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum but instantly latched onto this post as Minecraft is one of my favorite games of all time. I'm registered blind, however still have enough vision to just about stumble my way through Minecraft. Anyway, as far as modding Minecraft to make it accessible. There are mods out there that will identify the block you are looking at, displaying the block details in text format  on the screen. So that being possible, it isn't too far of a leap, to replace the text information and instead,  giving an an audio indication of the block you are looking at.. Information overload would be a potential problem as every time you moved your position you would be bombarded with block information. I'm sure this could be overcome though. Also there are radar style mods that can locate mobs, again, instead of a visual indicator, a system to provide audio queues would have to be devised to provide relevant information. In a
ddition to this there are also terrain smoothing and no jump mods that can make navigating the terrain easier, however this would only go so far as to help a person with absolutely no vision to navigate the Minecraft terrain. No matter how this problem would be overcome, playing a completely vanilla version of Minecraft would be extremely difficult for a completely blind person, in my opinion. It would have to be a modded version of the game, like others have mentioned and like I have touched on briefly. I do think it would be possible though however, for a person who is a talented Java programmer and also familiar with the Minecraft Modding API's that are out there, such as Forge, to produce the necessary mods, in a way, that would stick to the core Minecraft game play principles and ideals but making it an enjoyable and accessible game for all. I look forward to following the progress of this forum thread as I feel this is very achievable and look forward to hea
ring the thoughts of you all, as there are obviously some very talented programmers and passionate gamer's among you.

My favorite version of Visual Studio was version 6 because it was the last version before .NET was introduced. I absolutely refuse to give up my Visual Studio 6 CDs and manuals. The last version I used was version 10 and that was 4 years ago before I lost my vision.I haven't used it since because for my own projects, I prefer Pure Basic.I know JAWS has settings and possibly scripts to handle Visual Studio. I don't know if they just simplify things or are required to make Visual Studio accessible.Yes, the compilers in Visual Studio can be run from the command line, though I've always used the IDE.If you decide to try it out, I believe Microsoft is still giving away basic versions for non commercial use. That way just looking at it doesn't cost you anything. If you need more features or will be using it for commercial purposes, you'll have to buy at least the standard edition.I'd install it on a second machine, i
t's easy to install but not so easy to cleanly remove if you decide you don't want it. That one reason why I now use Pure Basic.

Finishers would be cool, but they don't have to be unnecessarily brutal aka fatalities... I would love to see a game with combat, plot and atmosphere like this.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHmBvkI … M21XhdQBxYBadass... and the finishers and special attacks are brutal. There is a very distinct sound when those cinematics begin, a metalic clang of sorts. Listen for it. This is what I mean when I say dark and gritty at mosphere. Skip past to about 1:30 in the video to skip the Japanese yakuza talking to each other.

I am not too sure if it's necessary or not. One thing I will say though, is perhaps if a client was developed it'd be to simply have a more immersive approach, a bit like solara where you could hear the battles happening. So it might say you took two swings to kill the bear, the client version could render the battle in audio.

Re: A bit of pain to find Tb map packs nowadays.

Allan Thompson just posted a new map pack today. Here is his email message:This is a great new version of my first attempt trying to recreate thedungeon fantasy board game by TSR/WOTC.This map pack features:Six different heros, male and female, to choose from. There is the dwarf, high elf, paladin, rogue, warrior and wizard. Each has a strength and weakness making them  versatile yet not overpowered. The  monsters are varied and split into six levels of difficulty. They are also random. Each time you play the same map you will get differentmonsters. There is treasure, both glittery stuff and some great magic items thatinclude potions, scrolls, weapons, armor and wondrous items like mysticalbelts, gauntlets, gloves, boots and specialized items. The treasure itself is also completely random. Open a treasure chest and youcould get  something different each time. It even has a user guide (Gasp! Al made a user guide? Did hell just freezeover?) so hopefully it is able to give you a good idea of what is going on.Oh, there is some magic, and wizards get to summon cat familiars! These canbe used for scouting and as a component in a spell. The cat can even be toldto follow or stop, and so you can let it follow      you around or just putit somewhere out of the way.The Link is below.https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/680 … ungeon.zip

I'm with Assault on this one.  Maybe have a level where you have to fight it out with the sheriff and his deputies, have it start as a fist fight then the sheriff stops you in your tracks and simply asks you to surrender, or it's a gunfight with him (similar to the old esp pinball classic table if you remember that one).  But we're getting a little off topic here.As for the beat em up idea, I'd like to see that with a dark/serious atmosphere as assault suggested.  Maybe have finishing moves, combo attacks, weapons etc.  Kind of like the game Danger City could've been were it finished.  I mean yes, that game didn't have the greatest sounds in the world but I@m sure with time and finding the right sounds you can make this look really good gameplay wise.

Instructions to play on pokerstars

2016-06-10 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — General Game Discussion : seb2314 via Audiogames-reflector

Instructions to play on pokerstars

Hello,This is going to be a long post with detailed instructions on how to actually play on pokerstars. Keep in mind that I highly suggest you to play on QuentinC's playroom if you're only looking to play for fun or you don't really want to spend time ajusting to pokerstars, because the accessibility just can't be compared and is not worth it if you don't enjoy poker like I do. It's far from perfect. I'm warning you just so you know what you're getting into. You should also be familiarized with the JAWS cursor. Here's a short demo of me playing a tournament. Keep in mind that you need to be fast with the keyboard and jaws needs to speak quite fast as well. You only get about 10 to 20 seconds to make your decision, depending on the type of tournament you're playing. https://www.dropbox.com/s/omhkrhjkrk5fi … o.mp3?dl=0Let's be honest, pokerstars is the largest poker network in the world, period. With lots of tournaments and the opportunity to play with thousands of people. I love poker and I always wanted to play where sighted people could play. I literally sent hundreds of messages to pokerstars for the past 5 years begging for them to help. They basically told me the same thing over and over again and they never really wanted to help, so I had to find a way to play, because what we have so far in regards to accessibility playing poker with real money is definitely non-existent. So if you're like me and really love to play poker and are willing to deal with a few issues here and there, just follow the instructions below. Once again, if you only want to play and don't care about all of this, I strongly advize you not to do this. This take times and you have to get used to so many things. You also don't want to play with real money right away. You should wait to get used to the software and the steps you need to do to overcome the few issues you're going to be facing.***Important***If you live in the United States, you will only be able to play with play money, however they just started allowing people to play for real money as well, so if you live in New Jersey you're good to go. Check back with pokerstars frequently if your city and state allows online poker. What you need:Pokerstars.com if you do not live in the United States or if you live in New JerseyPokerstars.net if you live in the United States (excluding New Jersey)JAWSHotspot clickerScripts and hotspot set for pokerstarshttps://www.dropbox.com/s/ajj458o46jaa4 … r.zip?dl=01. Install pokerstars. Make sure you read the notes above to know what version you should download2. Install hotspot clicker3. Download the scripts and hotspot set for pokerstars (link above)4. Extract the zip file5. Copy and Paste the extracted files in your jaws settings: go to start, all programs, jaws, explore jaws, explore my settings and paste them there6. Open the pokerstars software and create an account. Make sure you use the jaws cursor to help you.7. After your account is created, log in to pokerstars8. You need to use the jaws cursor to navigate the software. Go to settings, gameplay, then hotkeys. You want to configure hotkeys to check/call, fold, bet/raise, set bet amount to all-in, and also if you want to bet specific amounts. For example, if you want to bet a percentage of the pot, or 3 times the blind. It's going to take you some time to configure these, but it's definitely doable. just choose an action in the box, press tab once, and press the hotkey you want for this action. I use f1 through f12, but make sure you do not use the f4 key since it's preconfigured with hotspot clicker to focus the pc cursor to the box where you can enter an amount to bet. After you're done configuring the hotkeys you need, press ok, and then agree.9. Go back to settings, Table Appearance, Dealer Messages, "then double click on "Everything". Press ok. This will ensure you get the board cards as well as each players' actions spoken to you.10. Go to folder options and make sure the option to show hidden files and folders is on.11. Go to c:\users\your name\AppData\local\pokerstars or pokerstars.net depending on the version you use12. Press the application key (the key that simulates a right mouse click) on the file called pokerstars.log.0 and send a shortcut to your desktop13. Go to your desktop and press the application key on the shortcut you just created and go to property. Press tab till you can add a shortcut key to this file and add one. I use control+alt+lPlease note that the script files will also change the way jaws say certain words for the notepad application, so make sure you use word or another program to read text. You're all set now. Before sitting at a table or registering to a tournament, add the following text to your clipboard:updatemycard 0: so whenever you press control+v this line is pasted. For now, pokerstars does not allow you to see the cards in the dealer chat box, so this is why we need to get them from the file

Re: ideas for a 2d game?

There were, at the turn of the century, actually as early as 1880's. They were being tested by the military. One of the prototypes was the Garner machinegun. And the other (maybe much more recognized) was a gatling. It had to be turned by hand, but it did whoot a couple of rounds a minute. It would be cool for a, let's say, final battle. Like some "secret weapon" in modern games.

Aaron, not as far as I'm aware.  From what I remember the Machine Gun, or the Maxim Gun as it was then known, was first invented in England and thus, was not in the "Old West" though the time periods might collide somewhat with the invention of the gun itself starting in the 1880s (according to Wikipedia which was the quickest source though likely not the most accurate to use to clarify this point). Also, apologies for the double post

Sightless would be correct... there were no machineguns in the old west, and they likely didn't come to america until the early 1900s, at least with the introduction of the gatling gun which would probably be the earliest American equivalent. I love the beat em up idea, and would love to see something remonissant of Final Fight, with a dark and gritty atmosphere, rather than a lot of the beat em ups we've had which are all hard to take seriously.

@PhantomCreationsSorry I hadn't seen this post as a developerwho was looking for expandability ideas, otherwise I'd have chimed in sooner.  I agree with the beat em up/action (possibly with exploration) theme.  I'd be happy to test this for you as well if you feel I can help.  I know it's early in the design phase, but I'd suggest at least considering the possibility of modding support from the ground up if you can to provide the game with longevity.  Heck, even release the engine with docs to allow gamers to create what they want with it maybe?  That's a little further down the road but could be an interesting idea IMHO.Glad to see another developer working on something interesting. Also, I'm with Aaron on the side scroller, just release it once you have it ready - sounds like it could be good with your close to mainstream mechanics.

It had always been my dream, but sadly, I can't create games. Western offers you alot of unique stuff to do in terms of combat (e.g. guns, dynamite, for the final level introduction of the machinegun etc.) You could introduce horse-riding as well. This being said, I'm not expecting/requiring anything. It's just an idea which in my opinion could result in a fantastic gaming experience. Kind regards,Rok

It seems the problem that people have with NVDA Remote is that your auto connect key is written to a file in your appdata directory. Apparently people want this file encrypted, but I really don't think that there is a way that this can be done. NVDA Remote is open source, so there is no way that I can think of that the authors could encrypt this file. They could  make the encryption of this file not open source, but that would go against the GPL.  Here's some other fun information for you. Your Twitter authentication information is stored by both TwBlue and Chicken Nugget in your appdata directory. As is log on information from Filezilla, profiles from Firefox, and many other programs. This isn't something that is as easy to change as people are making it out to be.

@avidgamer: there's a sort of mini manual on the website, and apart from that there's the in-game help as you play.

Re: Compiler for C for Windows

What do you use to learn C? I've been interested in learning it for a while, but since I'm not very experienced with Python I've been putting that on hold.I'd recommend using Bloodshed Dev C/C++, as it uses MinGW as its compiler.

Re: Crazy Party: mini-games and card battle! (beta39)

Hi again all,  sorry for all the newbie questions particularly since I'm not really a newbie at all.  However, I'm having trouble creating online games.  I have a hitron router, crap I know but I have to use that one because it is the only way  my home alarm will work.  We've tried everything to make the game work, and it's not just this game but others where you can play online.  the port seems to be forwarded properly and we can see each other's public servers but can't join them.  We have another friend with a microtech router who's having the same problem.  We can see all the servers and can connect to any of them but not hers or ours and nobody can connect to us unless they're on our network and can connect via ip.  Any ideas what we can do to allow us to play online?  We've disabled the router's firewall and allowed the program through our individual firewalls, but still no lu
ck.  Any help would be appreciated.  online games

Re: a BGT game contest!

I don't think I understand what you mean by spam Ishan.  Do you mean you want to lower the number of participants to only include people with higher quality submissions, or more importantly, are you meaning you have some way to avoid people spamming fake votes at the end to win unfairly at the end of the contest?  In these types of community contests, people spamming votes with faked info has led to unfair outcomes, and that is what I assumed you meant.  I may have been mistaken.

Re: Blazing, a new iPhone/Android/tablet/browser game by Aprone

Actually it was done that way on purpose.  Originally the plan was to have it only count it as helping once, no matter now many things the person purchased during that same visit to the store.  Due to the nature of people casually playing for a few minutes here, and a few minutes there, the server had a hard time keeping track of which purchases should still be considered the same "visit" as the last purchase.  Because at times this could have been unfair (one player only gets credit per visit while another gets credit for all 5 things purchased), it seemed that just making it the same for everybody was the better option.  So it's true, if you sell a player 2 health potions, you get credit for both sales even though it's the same player on the same "visit" to your shop.I know I haven't updated this game in a while, sorry about that guys.  I'm currently being pulled in many different directions at the same time
, so these smaller projects are being neglected.  I'm still surprised this tiny game is as popular as it is!  I never expected that.

Compiler for C for Windows

Compiler for C for Windows

I have been learning C over the past couple months, working on a Linux machine. I was curious though ,about c compilers for Windows. I have been looking for a good compiler compatible for Windows and have been running into some problems. I have tried MinGW, but it seems that the package installer for installing the compiler for C is not accessible. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am not particularly interested in a IDE because I use ED Sharp for all of my coding, and I have found that to be my preference.

Possibly, we'll have to see. I've modifyed the game's pybass version to load the dylyb file on mac, but I don't have access to a mac to test nore the funds to order one at the moment, so i'll have to rely on other testers to help.
