Thinking of switching to Chrome, a few questions.

Hi all,I've been a happy user of Firefox for quite some time, but, with the new changes coming to version 57, which will disable legacy add-ons, I can't say that I'm impressed with Mozilla at this point. So, I started weighing my options, and decided to give Chrome a try today.For the most part, it's been a smooth experience. Browsing is fast, it's much more accessible with NVDA than it used to be, and many of the add-ons I use in Firefox are either already available as Chrome extensions, or there are workable equivalents.However, there are a couple of issues I'm having, two of which are minor annoyances, and one of which might be a showstopper if I can't figure out how to fix it. Maybe someone can help me find solutions to these problems.The first issue I'm having is that when I type something in the address bar, it wants to autocomplete the text. Not only do I find this annoying, it's slightly concerning fro
 m a privacy standpoint. I'm usually the only person who uses my computer, but on those occasions when nosy family members need it and want to poke around, I'd rather not have to deal with the inevitable barrage of questions. I did uncheck the option in settings that tells it not to use a prediction service to autocomplete URL's in the address bar, but it's still doing it, and I can't see any other obvious settings with that wording which would change the behavior. I have all the prediction services turned off anyway, since I don't really want everything I type being sent to Google, but I'm sure there has to be something else that can be disabled that will stop this.The second thing I'm wondering about are download managers. Yes, I know, Chrome is already quite efficient, impressively so, at downloading content. I like that, and I don't even mind the way in which the downloads window is displayed. The thing is, I have several podcas
 ts which I follow, and I like to keep local copies on my computer. Once a week, I open QCast, grab all the links of new content from the podcasts that I want, paste them in a text document, and then import the document using Down Them All in Firefox. I don't usually download podcasts using QCast itself, because it's terrible at it. It throws errors left and right when I do so. So, I need a solution that I can use in Chrome, because even if I keep Firefox around as a secondary browser, a day will come soon when Down Them All will no longer work anyway. The developer has explicitly stated that he doesn't intend to comply with the new web extension standards. So, are there any download managers that are either Chrome extensions, or are standalone applications that are reasonably accessible? Free Download Manager seems to have taken a huge nosedive in that department, judging by my testing today.Finally, this is the problem that will either make or break my decisio
 n to use Chrome. I imported my bookmarks from Firefox into Chrome. All was well, until I actually tried to navigate the bookmarks menu. First letter navigation doesn't seem to work at all. For example, if I hit the letter t to find something in my list that starts with that letter, what it actually jumps to is the mobile MyAt&T site. This is really frustrating, because I have a ton of bookmarks, and I rely heavily on first letter navigation so that I at least have a decent baseline to start scrolling from. I sincerely hope there is a way to fix this. As I said, soon, Firefox is going to become pretty crappy if a lot of add-ons don't get updated. I could use the ESR release to buy myself some time, but that, too, will stopp receiving updates eventually, so it's a Band-aid solution, which I don't really care to implement.

Make sure you have enough workers assigned to the necessary food-production jobs. That includes peasants to carry the food to the tavern, which could be something of a bottleneck when you have 20 people. You can usually get the most out of farms with 2 farmers for every 3 farms, IIRC. You also want to try and produce all the food types, although it is kinda difficult to get more than 2 going early on. Also, watch out for injuries or sickness, especially for your cook or doctor. You'll want a butcher and a textile to support your hospital ASAP.

You can't represent all of those in 9000 bits, because 9000 is less than infinity. So you inevitably have some minor discrepencies due to rounding. As a general rule, physics in the real world struggles beyond the 8th decimal place, unless you're dealing with quantum mechanics, for which PCs are woefully inadequate. So, if the drift due to rounding errors is small enough that it wouldn't be measurable by a human in any cases that are going to show up, it's generally safe to treat 0.0001 as 0.I mean, you have 10 zeros after the decimal point. If you're measuring in meters, that is enough accuracy that you'd need som

So until I figure out what the hell to do about getting theta to pass and change correctly, preferably without making math a class, I decided to test whether theta would control the direction correctly.  Which brings me to the following question:  What...the...fuck?  Radian values should be immutable.  In other words:if 90 degrees = 1.5707963268 radians, and knowing that position = velocity*DT:double theta = 1.5707963268;vector vel((acc.x/M2)*cosine(theta), (acc.y/M2)*sine(theta), grav.z);This should make the ball travel 90 degrees.  That would mean that it would travel strictly on the x axis, and none on y, meaning that Y should remain 0.  However, this is what the log shows the travel to be.  I've only shown the first 5 entries, but you will see what I mean:position of ball.x is -0.0019894, position of ball.y is 3.8982412815094.position of ball.x is -0.0039591, position of ball.y is 7.757

Hi all,So while playing with my Samsung Galaxy S3 Tablet, I stumbled across something interesting with the microphones. Maybe someone can provide more info on this than I know.The microphones in my Tablet are on the side, near the power and volume buttons. One is a few inches below the other.I've tried two recording apps on my Tablet, Rec Forge Pro and High Q Mp3 Recorder. Both allow you to change the microphone used for recording. I think those apps were meant for phones though, since the options you get are normally front and back microphone, which my Tablet doesn't have, so selecting mics is kinda broken.With both apps though, I can record in two different microphone configurations. On the first, it uses only one microphone, IIRC the top one,  and outputs in mono. There is way too much treble for anyone's good. And the sound is so loud that many things distort. Adjusting input gain only lowers output volume so the distortion still ha
 ppens.On the other configuration, both mics are used, top and bottom. Top is on the right channel and bottom is on the left, making it possible to record stereo sound. There is a lot of processing going on: compression, a bit of noise reduction, etc. There is also a corrective filter to fix the treble so it's at a more pleasant level. All in all, it sounds okay, but the noise reduction and compression do remind me that there is still processing going on, especially the latter. I would never call this a high-fi sound but it's good enough. For a while, I've been wondering if that processing can be turned off while keeping a stereo recording. I suspected not, Until today.A few hours ago, I went on Team Talk to test it on the Tablet. I was surprised to learn that I got stereo sound, but without all the processing I mentioned above. The annoying treble was back, and the noise reduction and compression were gone. The volume was also a lot quieter, so I suspect
  I was hearing the raw signal that the compression would normally have been fed with. I thought, if only I could make a stereo recording this way, with all of that processing off, then apply my own processing on the PC. All I'd need to do is eq the obnoxious treble to make it listenable, and compress with a conservative touch to bring the levels up but not dramatically so. I could then mess around with trying to coax even more from the sound if I wanted to, while always having the original handy. Yes, I know it still wouldn't beat a good stereo digital recorder or good microphone by any means no matter what I do, but there have been times I've been tempted to take my tablet with me to record something when my recorder wasn't ready. I never did, though, because of the processing that recording apps seem to be enabling. Sadly, Team Talk seems to be the only thing thus far which can get a raw unprocessed input.So my question is this: How come the configuratio
 n on Team Talk I described doesn't seem to be available anywhere else?My best guess is that either Android, or samsung, have different profiles, accessible to developers, for different situations. My rudimentary research into it suggests that there are indeed features on Android and IOS like noise suppression, echo cancellation, and other features which allow for various enhancements to the microphone signal. So it seems apps can do with those what they choose. I've yet to find one that disables all processing on Android. I haven't looked too hard because I don't want to waste time on apps which are clones with a different skin. Ironically, on IOS there are at least two apps I know of that either offer disabling the processing, or which just do it by default. They make really raw-sounding recordings without AGC and filtering and other things, and I can then process however I need later. Haven't found something like that on Android.Me being the 
 weird audio geek I am, I think it would be awesome to have a recording app for Android and IOS that allowed the user to adjust the device's mic options the same way developers are able to, and apply them to a recording. That way you could use, say, the built-in noise suppression if you had a reason to, or just play with options until you find something you like. Would only be useful for people like me I suppose, and it's probably impossible or impractical for many reasons, but it can't hurt to throw it out there and spark some discussion perhaps. Lol

You have to start a new game if it crashes on load (you should be able to do this fine though by selecting new game on the load screen with left/right), but if not you should be fine. the coordinate bug was caused by an improper character replacement; I use special character modifiers for certain visual effects and the parsing was wrong so it made numbers 0-6 not appear.

lol. It's ok, both are pretty much on point... though I wouldn't call Ninja Theory an Indie studio anymore. they released Heavenly Sword, one of the best gems on the ps3, as well as the remake of Devil May Cry. And the voices are supposed to be jumbled yes, but I do think they can be relied on to give you a running commentary at least. I may risk it if I happened to be paid a little more or if the game goes on sale.

@Sito, thanks for the help, but for some reason when i go into defender to turn it off, i go to the realtime protection checkbox and press space to uncheck it, but straight away it checks itself again, thus i cannot turn it off.

Never thought of one shotting Zinbat with Stone Throw from Grannate, but I did it this morning. Started with Lonar, used Bite on Zinbat. By this time Zinbat had already took out Yavon's Fyste. Octoross sends in Grannate. Quaked Feefeye after Octoross sent out Grannate, since Feefeye used Poison Dart on Yavon's Eagala. Their's one reason for keeping Poison Dart on Feefeye! But yes, not bringing up that argument again. Octoross sends in Deciced. Eagala used Swoop on it, doing only like 4 damage. I finish it off with Bite. Octoross sends in Jiminar. Jiminar used Electric Shock on Yavon's Eagala, defeating it. I used Bite again and defeated Jiminar. And why didn't I use Quake, you ask? Because Jiminar had a broomstick equipped. Yavon's Friggle defeats Grannate with Tidle Wave. Octoross sends in Dormanoid. Dormanoid finally destroys Lonar with Grave Gun. I send in Manja because it's resistant to undead. Because of Manja's speed stat, it got the f
 irst turn and used Rookie Kick on Dormanoid doing some Damage. Dormanoid decided to derp, and used Dark Gift witch made the fight easier. Then Yavon's Friggle finished it off with Bubble! I guess it depends how you do it, could of done that last night.

I did the following:1. Burn the Budgie/Gnome/Mate iso to a USB stick, I used dd to do it but whatever works is fine2. Booted the system from the USB stick, in your case boot the VM from your iso of choice3. Wait around a minute or two, hit alt F2, you'll hear a sound if oyu hold backspace, type terminal and hit enter, then type orca and hit enter, it'll start OrcaFrom there it's an easy to use installer, the only part I had isues with was the name/username  bit but I used the same name for both.Once I had it installed I didn't restart immediately, I went and tinkered around to set the defaults up how I want, then restarted and just a heads upby default, it'll ask for your password but you an easily enable auto log in once you're at the desktop and Orca's started up.There you go, hopefully that helps. I've been talking with the Solus guys about Orca actually and they have been very helpful wi
 th helping me with a few minor issues, so credit where it's due.

Hi.Does anyone know how to make it so that iether the IOS Podcast app Overcast or Undercast apps play every podcast in a list?I turn on continuous playing but it doesn't seem to work.I prefer to streem the podcasts if possible but can download them. I'm trying to use the IOS Podcast app if possible as it is simple and easy to use. So if you know how to make continuous play work on that app, that would be great.

Adding to this. To start out, i started with JAWS 6 i think? I was around eight years old, and it was okay I guess, but it did slow down the school computer which was on Windows XP. I used different versions of JAWS by itself for about six years or so, until i got a laptop at home and discovered NVDA. I kept using JAWS at school because they didn't let me use NVDA. I had no learning curve though, and have always preferred NVDA. I believe the last full versoin of JAWS I used was 16. It wasn't terrible I guess, just not what I wanted. I didn't feel comfortable with it, and I personally felt that there was just too much to it. There were too many things I didn't need/want. I also needed a screen reader to work on a laptop with 2 gb of ram and 32 gb of storage, and jaws literally couldn't do that. NVDA has worked fine for me. I've used it in school settings, to fix other computers along with mostly narrator to be honest, and I haven't had any problem
 s with the internet. One common complaint i hear about NVDA is that it shows oo many links on one line. My response is usually that that's h ow the screen looks, and if you don't like it, uncheck or check a box in the preferrences and that's it. So, I guess my thoughts are that both screen readers work, but for me, NVDA works better. I am happy we have multiple options though.

Hey again. I would like to share another sample of my voice with you, now with 90 sentences. I think the engine now has started to understand that I'm speaking with a British accent, making it ignore the phonemes it used to add so that it tries making my accent American, hopefully I might be able to completely convince it, once I reach enough recordings, to stop searching for or synthesizing American phonemes and only use the ones I provide in my recordings. The Stones are just Story snippets, often not even on the main path. So they won't turn you in the right direction. Unfortunately half or more of the voices represent doubt, self-hate, fear etc. Their Suggestions almost always are exact contraries to what you should do. The only way they can be used relyable is that they begin speaking at all when you've done something that Progresses the Story. I think the world is very linear, but you have to find small ladders, bridges and so on. There are even some illusions of things that only appear / disappear when viewed through a Special Portal. I wouldn't risk paying for this, but who knows. Fact is, that this is an amazing work for an indie Studio.

How do you know that it's false or not? lolAs for the rest, the voices are supposed to do that.. which is the only thing that gives this game a chance of being playable. focusing on a rune puzzle is going to be difficult since you need to focus and visually find the matching rune with no audio cues.  there is no platforming, so I suppose if you really want to try it, you can, and you may have luck with it. But portions like this from a text walkthrough don't look encouraging.From here go up the stairs next to the Lorestone, climb up the ladded and start following the rocky terrain. Cross the wodden plank when you get to it, go inside the cave and jump down. Follow the path in here until you get to a gate. This triggers a scene with Druth. He tells you that Runes lock the paths ahead of you and that you have to use your eyes to search for the key. Focus on the Rune on the gate and you'll have to find something that is similar to that Rune, whi
 ch resembles the letter M. Go back a little bit (to where there's a bit of light) and you can find some shadows forming the exact same Rune...Focus on the shadow to release the lock on the gate. You've now broken the seal. Now go up a couple ladders, cross a wooden plank, go up the stairs and you'll now be on a wooden bridge with a wooden plank in the middle.Not trying to be a damper here, just being realistic.The game sounds great, and if it does turn out to be playable, I'll be very happy!

wel, my sences about this. i'm really disapointed about apple. i phone 8 is just too similar to iphone x. the only thing that x has is a better camera and face ID. and the screen of corse. evrything that the new i phone has already exists on other phones that you can get way cheeper. so no, it's not worth buying a Iphone for 1000 dollars when you instead can buy a pc for that money

sam said it him self many times before, he won't make an offline version of the game because it's ment to only be multiplayer. after all it's survive the wild and the purpose of the game is to survive. if you can practis things offline then there's no risc that you'll loos stuffs etc. and people will just end up not trying to even practis stuffs online. because they can do it offline and not loosing anything at all.

yo, what you can do is disable defender. extracting the redspot zip file, then add the exlusion so that redspot.exe is the excludedn file. then it'll work good. the reason that it worked for abit before it stopped working is because defender enables it self after a while

WellI wasn't expecting that distro to turn out to play well with my systemTried Mint, it wouldn't play nice, tried Sonarr, got it running and it was lagging my system, thanks Gnome.so I decided screw it, I'm gonna go out into left field and try Solus having heard good things about it and its performance with the Budgie desktopand for some arcane, weird reason, I now have an insanely responsive, fast booting and light system on here now.Okay is it just me or does Ubuntu pack alot of crap into its distros? I've noticed that, no matter what desktop I run it on, on one machine I wipe for testing after every distro, Ubuntu consistently seems the slower end out of the ones I test.

for some reason, the game won't open for me, it says windows cannot access the specified file bla bla bla. I tried turning off my anti virus and It worked for a bit, but then it stopped again. I tried making an exclusion to the folder in windows defender but still it won't open the exe file, the laptop even deletes the exe file itself. it's so annoying, any help would be appreciated.

I have a pretty powerful bluetooth speaker that's portable and runs on battery, and if I am cooking, or cleaning up, doing the dishes, etc. I would take it with me and stream playlist from the laptop to it.Maybe its just that you need more exposure. I am following your twitter too, and you only really talk about the gamedev stuff, not about the music, unless you have that on a different account, but either way. I do wish they had like levels for it, like when I bought the album, it said I could put in my own price and a minimum of $7.50. Honestly I was new to bandcamp and only got on there because crash mentioned it and you put yours up there. Well I put in $10, but it would be cool if say a certain level gets you the flak rather than MP3, I would pay a little more for flak. I don't know if that's a feature they offer or not though.

Hi all,I agree that there should be an user guide to steem, I didn't have any problems with steem, but I know what's it like to have some lazy idiots coding the project. How ever, NVDA is opened sourced, in jaws there are scripts, so basicly if someone can do something like make an jaws script for steem for jaws users, or a NVDA add_on that will work with steem. but, as long as there are no such things, and the company doesn't do something in the program it self, our hands are tied, it will be just vaste of time doing such a thing. Hi Mojsior, Good feedback! I'm going to see if I can make the core of the trail a little louder than the edges of it. That will help. Some people have beaten it, it's just a somewhat hard skill. When you beat it, the handler does tell you you have won. Also, there's a much better tutorial coming! It tells you the different things you can do to track.Please remember it's very early stages, the game is only a month and a half old so it will only get better! I'll work on making the trail a little easier.

One thing you might want to keep in mind. IF you wish to have cross platform support for your game, only accessible_output2 is cross platform of the options mention. I've talked to the developer of tolk and to some up, he doesn't want to have to completely  rewrite tolk to work with multiple platforms. Quentin C has a library for speech as well, but thats windows specific again and while he says he'd like people to try and port it to Mac and other os's, it would need a lot of work too.just some thoughts. hope this helps.

Hmm, actually regarding tolk, it does work for python? I don't know a lot about the library, to be honest. Just that it is used for adding accessibility, and that I think Skullgirls uses it for it's accessibility. Does anyone have any good resources for setting it up? Just a few things I missed.In American football, each down begins as two lines facing each other, one line for each team. Imagine the field is a rectangle longer on the left and right part than up and down, and they are facing each other with the backs of each line facing the long end. The quarterback, who is the player on the offense squad who controls the ball through passing to other players, can't throw the ball if he has passed the point where the line began. That's a big rule. As quarterback you can't run forward and throw the ball.

Hi SLJ, I'm a fan of both so I'll give it a shot.European football, which I'm going to call soccer henceforth, is a game with near constant jogging and moments of full on sprinting. There are 11 players on each team on the field at a time. Very little contact but the contact allowed is called slide tackling and it is nasty. It is when a player that isn't moving the ball around with his feet attacks a player with the ball by sliding on the ground, feet first. As said the ball is moved solely by the feet, touching with your hands is a penalty except for the players that guard the goals, named goalies. Goals are how the game is won. A player scores a goal by kicking the ball into the other players net, which is at the opposite end of the field than your own net you are defending. A net is a large metal frame with a cloth net of ropes attached.American football is played almost solely with the hands. There are no nets. Also 11 players on the fie
 ld at a time, but there are different squads for different purposes. Offense tries to get the football to the other end of the field, held by one of the players. Throwing the ball is allowed, running the ball is allowed and kicking is allowed but when you kick the ball you give up possession of it. This is important because in American football, the offense has four chances to advance the ball ten yards forward on the field. The other team tries to stop them. That's the defense squad doing their job. If the offense can't advance ten yards in four tries, called downs, they have to give the ball up. In between downs, the play stops at the referees whistle. American football is played in very short bursts. If the offense can advance the ball ten yards, then they get another set of four attempts. So the object is to move down the field to score a touchdown which is when one of your players has the ball through a run or pass and runs onto the other teams end zone, which is just
  an area on the ground. It is the goal, but it isn't anything like a soccer goal. The last squad is called special teams, and they handle kicking the ball, and running it back when the other team kicks. There are further shades of complexity but those are the main points. Soccer has a set length: 90 minutes, but extended when injuries on the field stop play. American football is four quarters of 15 minutes each but the games are usually around 3 hours because of stop time in between downs. The clock doesn't advance when they're setting up the play.

Well, the puzzles might made the game impossible to play. But it's surprisingly how much the voices are guiding the player, telling what's going on, telling what to do etc. It sounds like the voices react when you do something right in the puzzles. It's difficult to imagine how the puzzles exactly are done. I don't get if you have to step at the right place, turn the character or what exactly you need to do.An other thing which is difficult to tell is how limited the areas are. It sounds like you can't walk freely around like in an open world game, but I'm not sure about this. It's hard to hear when jumping and climbing, but if you can't fail those parts because of the levels limitations, it might be doable.The combat sounds interesting. The enemies says "charge", you can kind of tell how much health you have left when paying attention to the heartbeat, and the voices says if the enemies is behind you, if you should run
  or when you have to finish them off.Then, I'm not sure on how the focus feature works. You have to focus on the stones. Maybe this feature turns the character in the right direction?At the beginning of the game, it tells you if you die too many times, your progress will be lost. That seems to be false, and a trick the game plays on the player, to make them do the best to stay alive.At the moment, I don't feel like taking the chance and buy the game to give it a try. I have done that way too many times.  But the game sounds really interesting...

I use Youtube-DLG 0.3.8. The 0.4 version broke accessibility, and the author of the program is looking into how he can improve accessibility. For now though, it suits my needs...no problems.

@Dranelement, I have now separated sound and music!also I have attempted to add death sounds to battle, with higher pitched for goblins and lower for demons, it didn't go too well because the sound has to play one at a time, but you can test it when the new release is out
