Space Radiation Book As buried in [arstechnica]:In a recent article reporters covered the development of a new cargo module, SpaceX's Dragon XL, which would service the proposed Lunar Gateway. Buried within the comments though was a helpful little link to a NASA Space Radiation ebook that covers the ins and outs of solar radiation, space weather, and exposure limits for astronauts over their carrier, among other things. You can grab the book [here] as a pdf. Re: Circus masters revenge, new iOS audio defence type shooter game @261 okay so maybe he had beta testers but he didn't listen to them? That's even worse. Hello, that's the whole point of having beta testers in the first place. Like for god sake! Whatever the case may be, it's just for pardon the language here, but shitty on all kinds of levels here. Like I said before. It would be different if let's say this were to happen, in which case I would be happy about. First version came out. It wasn't great at all like it is right now. Second version came out, he listened to people and delivered fixes and we found the game to be better than it was before. Okay, maybe I wouldn't harp on this as much as I would now, but being as, he didn't fix, anything and just added one new feature and said, oh here's a new feature and no menu fixes after we told him what needed fixing, Oh yeah, and I payed for some tokens which I had to pay, to get quack shot to work, of which, doesn't. I don't have the game anymore, but I would like my money back for that as well. Totally forgot about that until now. Yeah, that's another thing. You can't get additional tokens when you play the game again, that's shitty. You basically have to pay money to get stuff unlocked to do stuff. Sorry, not happening with this dev. I'm not about to go out of my way to support someone who will not listen to feedback and just takes stuff that we say about the game to be negative and expect everything to be positive and people lying about the game and say, oh hey, it's a good game when they feel like it's really not. Sorry, but if you can't accept feedback, then why is this even a thing in the first place? Yes, I get it, you wanna make the reality of AD, but this is nothing like the quality of audio defense at all! Oh yeah and you still haven't answered my question about the $500 server. Just because you lowered the price, doesn't mean you've answered my question. Sorry but I'm gunna keep saying stuff about this until he gets the damn point! Of which, I don't think he's getting at all. Read, through, my, posts, carefully! And precisely! I honestly think that this needs to be rewritten from the ground up. Code bass and all. Either that, or fix everything of which, I'm sure, neither is gunna happen. The sample ROM is inside the CPU of the console, and that still has not been dumped (dumped means copied) from the hardware. I have all the games and BIOS of the console. But as I said before, this console uses the same sounds than the Casio CT-670 or MT-750 and its variants (you can check on YouTube), so I need a keyboard like those and sample it, no longer need a console. Someone dumped (copied) the ROM of the Casio MT-750, where the samples and its data are stored (sample ROM); various Casio keyboards that uses samples for the sounds, have a sample ROM that is encoded, like the Casio SW-10; so even if I had the sample ROM encoded, wouldn't be much use if I didn't have it decoded. Re: I have a windows 7 vm for all who wants it Moderation:This thread has been flagged for the potentially illegal sharing of copyrighted content.I have never used a VM before, but would appreciate knowing from one of you who has attempted to use this one whether or not authentication is required. If you can just download it, set it up and go, and you don't have to use a key, then it strikes me that you're essentially getting Windows 7 for free. And whether or not you agree with Microsoft and whatnot, this would technically fall in breach of rule 3.However, I did say "potential", because I don't actually know if this is problematic. If the end user still has to authenticate Windows upon installation of the VM, then there should be no problems. Otherwise I have to buy a keyboard, conect it to the computer through the audio output to the computer and sample it that way. The author of the Casio CT-370 SoundFont did it that way. Of course I don't have money to buy one . Re: rory farm first beta is now ready for testing Right, this seems like a good base to expand a game moving forward. Can push the game into many directions, and maybe somewhat match one of the incramental games. can stick with the single farm theme where the player has the ability to construct and organize their places, maybe hiring some staf when the operations get really large. Or a mass farming simulator. Owning various farms with the same feature, and using profits to purchase supplies, purchase land, research new farming methods and products to explode production. basically, a lot of directions to expand out to. Personally, I'd prefer the more personal feeling of just owning and expanding a single farm. Starting out with the best way to care for and treat your livestocks and structuring your farm. though, including more things might rsult in researching more about farming, growing methods, issues and diseases that may come up and preventative methods. Maybe anyone with actual farming experience can give Rory some advice if he isn't already a ranchborn. Might open up some new activities if they're feasible to put in game form. Re: Gemini Station: an online text-based RPG set in the future, in space.
Re: Gemini Station: an online text-based RPG set in the future, in space. Okay, I'm just having a look at this one, and once you get used to the interface, there is some great stuff here. I admit, choosing a scout class was probably not a good idea, accept that fighter and trrader both seemed fairly usual options so I thought I'd go for something different, though it seems my first few levels will be hard from what I gather until I get access to hacking, actually I do sort of wish there was a little more info, or at least ability to change ship capabilities, though equally I've not got weapon mods installed yet, though trading is going to be hard for a while until I can upgrade cargo. I admit, the mods system will take a bit of getting used to, since I'm not sure what mods you can put where, but we'll see. I'm also not sure where to get missions from exactly, I saw a couple of trade missions in the specialised exports tab, but both seemed to be fairly advanced and require some advanced ggear, EG one required transporting 75 units of cargo, when I only have a cargo hold with 5 capacity. But we'll see, I suppose this is what I get for taking the option that the game actually calls the hard one . Re: A new SoundFont made by me: FPD98, a 90's Japanese soft synth Yeah, I know they did consoles, but I'm not interested in the PV-series. I like more those handheld games they released back in the 80's. Also, the Casio Loopy (which was a console targeted for girls only) uses the same PCM sound source system (maybe the same sample ROM) as the Casio CT-670 or MT-750, it's a 12-bit PCM sound source system, but I couldn't find much info about the sound capabilities, however I'm sure it's the same as the keyboards. And yeah, those Casio handheld games uses (maybe) the same NEC microprocessor to handle the sound (can it be modded or circuit bended?) . Re: A new SoundFont made by me: FPD98, a 90's Japanese soft synth
Re: A new SoundFont made by me: FPD98, a 90's Japanese soft synth Yeah, I know they made consoles, but I'm not interested in the PV-series. Re: socializing - any tips?
Re: socializing - any tips? If you're making music, share it with the world and the world might get back to you one day! At least for me sutch was the case. About eight years ago I got pretty fed up by my friend asking me to make myself a soundcloud account and put my shit up there. Previously I had had quite a nice experience with one specific forum, where I posted my tracks basically to explain and show people, that one particular piece of kit is actually a real thing and not just a toy and got a pretty positive feedback and earned some good rep on there. The only thing I couldn't provide, was some kind of a video showing off my way of working due to understandable factors. Mentioning the obvious fact of me being blind didn't phase people too much, at least it didn't have any negative effect, but also didn't generate that nasty tasting false positivity "we all know, how that goes". And so I got myself onto soundcloud and after some time got contacted by a local guy here in Estonia, who runs a small underground label as a kind of a hobby and asked if I was interested in having one of my tracks on a compilation record, to which I of course gave a positive answer. That planted a seed to a partnership, that goes on to this day. Yes, it's just an underground thing and doesn't really bring money in my pocket, but there are also no stringent contracts and limits to my activities, but instead I have found respect and friends in the community of electronic musicians up here, which gives opportunities for giggs and simply access to people with common interest. As I am a type of persone, who goes really deep into details on some narrow choice of subjects and doesn't really interact on other levels, so imitating an interest in a totally uninteresting topic is out of the question, as interacting in a circle of likeminded souls works more than good! So, what I'm trying to accent is this: find some, may-be smaller, but well connected group of those similar to you - obviously they don't have to be blind, and trust me on this, if you find your place in sutch a group, they won't leave you and might change your life in a positive way. I could ramble along on this one, but those knowing me understand, that my thresshold in regard to writing thoughts out is pretty low and a feeling of getting messy is creaping up, but at least I have stated my main point here. Re: A new SoundFont made by me: FPD98, a 90's Japanese soft synth I'd kill for a soundfont emulating the casio loopy console. that console had a similar sound set to their contemporary keyboards of the era. Re: Delay on a virtual machine
Re: Delay on a virtual machine Um. No. Its not. There will always be a delay, irrespective of how many resources you give the VM or how much of a particular resource you give it. You can decrease it and on Linux you have things like PCI passthrough, but I would be careful with that and definitely wouldn't use it if you don't know what your doing. However, it will always be present because the virtualization is all happening on the CPU. PCI passthrough is something only Linux can do -- it passes a physical device on your PCI/PCE bus (e.g.: your GPU) to the VM and makes it temporarily unusable by the host until the VM is shut down/terminated or until the passthrough is disabled. The delay will still be present though. Re: A new SoundFont made by me: FPD98, a 90's Japanese soft synth I love the Yamaha S-YXG50 and its sucessor (the Yamaha S-YXG2006LE, which was used in Yamaha MidRadio Pleyer) although sometimes it sounds unbalanced.BTW, have you heard about the rare Yamaha S-YXG100 PVL (PolyVL)? It has 256 VL voices (which those are used in the Yamaha VL70M). You have full control over the VL voices and you can program them in the way you want.
