I used to have a small deep fryer, and now I just use a pot because the one I had was cheaply made like everything else these days.  It is more scary using a pot, but you have to work with what you have.  and listenin to the oil and to your food also helps.  Not that I am nuts or anything, but food does talk, and the different sounds it makes tells you what to look for.

Pretty much, blindness eliminates 95% or more of low skill jobs, and more than 85-90% of others, and provides a disadvantage to some extent in all the remaining. College will improve your chances, but will never erase the blind disadvantage. I mean, I have a masters degree, and if an employer can reject you, even if you are the perfect candidate, they will do so. So for example, something that isn't relevent to a sighted person can end up being the reason you got rejected because you're blind and they'd rather not deal with you.

Deep frier all the way. I've got one at home and it makes some pretty good french fries, this is all I cook in it these days. Shrooms are pretty good deep fried too, beats the hell out of an oven or an air frier, it's just not the same crunchiness. To me air fried food tastes more like boiled than fried.

How unfairly do we have it, how much is being done about it?To make this much simpler, I've broken it down into the following question:What are our opportunities for employment like?I chose this question because this is how we receive income. Without income or financial support, everything else is going to struggle. Everything from travel, to living independently, and so on.So to zoom in on how much blindness effects us, let's go to the source of it all. Employment, and college, if applicable.I would like to know which stage is the most common for blind people to find themselves stuck/rejected, how active they are in job searching and how much hope they have either before or after previous experiences, how accessible was your job and how understanding were your bosses with making things work better for you to do your job, and finally, was the job paying a decent rate to live independently, and what degree of college was required for this job?That's a lot of questions, but hopefully we can find an answer. Because right now I'm completely unsure if opportunities for us are very inequal and rare, or if I have lost hope way too quickly and being in my home for the last 2 years doing nothing instead of job searching has made me have a more negative and lazy connotation and mindset to this. I can't import a page, the program just goes back to the pages list without adding anything after selecting the file. It is a page I made with the same program but I had to delete and then add because I had to edit something manually because there isn't any way to edit the existin elements. I think the program needs that feature, BTW.The Add or edit the ID of this element buton doesn't work either, it just stays there after pressing it.

This could, depending on the c case; be considered scamming, by some people, as, you pay for something, and you, as the buyer, expect to get the product or service you payed for, after-all, you payed for it. But if you don't get it... This, despite you paying, from a technical standpoint? Scamming could be one word for it. Granted people who bought the games could still get their money back; but still. If the dev's not willing to mintain the games then, customers will just, throw money into the void, as someone said in a earlier post. I get these games aren't very expensive; not comparing to other things; but still. Been playing for the last week or so. the area seems huge. Did a few runs and shot a few things. Personally, I would love to have some good, screen reader useable, maps that I can use to have a pretty good layout of the areas. Like to get a armor truck with a few mounted weapons that I could use to blow a large area up if I so wish. I would not say no to a tank mind you. Would also like a few flame throwers, and one or two other weapons, mainly a few WMDs. The lag from time to time is aggravating at times though.

Okay in that case, run slay the Spire without mods and see if your controller works there. If it does then there's an issue with Say the Spire and I'll look into it. If not I think it's an issue with the controller, your steam settings, or the game itself.

I know this thread's been inactive for some time, but it also seemed kind of dumb to start a new one just for this:You know that gift Drabao? The one with hibernate and the ability secure hibernation? It normally gets the ability aptitude, which means it doesn't lose usage points on its moves. This seems infinitely better. I'll probably never run this thing through the game, but if I did, I think I'd rather have aptitude for sure.Also, Tarboo and Turoison are just bad. So Tarboo's hp is MEOW! But everything else is just blah. Its moves in particular are just...fail! Big fail! I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to run either one of these through the game without being tempted to smash things.

@FubsepudeAt that number of columns, the game shouldn't have a problem showing you all the actions you can perform with a worker or other unit (that is, the text that you can begin tabbing through by pressing shift "R"). This is what I was most concerned about so it's good it won't be an issue for you.The problem you will have is that in some in-game windows, specifically when you contact an embassy, or pull up the list of your units (from the menu Accounting -> Brigades), some of the text will wrap to the next line. In those circumstances, the infobox shown to the right of the main window will wrap but the main window itself will not wrap.

I don't tend to make a lot of pre-breaded things in mine. I have some on-hand for when I get hungry and don't want a full meal, but if I fry something, it's usually hand-breaded in breadcrums with egg and other batter, or different oils, usually avocado.

Okay, just finished this one. I really liked the highly open feeling of the games' map, and was alternately frustrated and irritated by all of the find quests, though I liked the way you needed to get a major sense of the city's geography, also the soundtrack was very nice and fitted in well with the ambience and very grim voice acting.I'm afraid though, even for someone who generally enjoyed Blind quest, much else of the game just didn't sit as well with me. Maybe it's because I'm not really a huge fan of noire crime or racing, and was expecting something a bit more scifi than we got,or maybe it's just that fantasy is more my thing I don't know.~It's just that a lot of the story felt slightly disconnected, there were a few too many sequences where I was just told what happened and didn't get to interact much, like the bit where Almonon or whatever the other racing drive was called crashed. similarly, what is it with solving problems with weed in this city? honestly, I was sort of amused as to how often you got around people by chucking weed at them . Also, maybe it's just that genre wise this is less my thing, but I didn't really get as much sense from a lot of the characters and locations as in blindquest, which meant a lot of the moments of the game that attempted to be emmotional just didn't seem to play out as much to me. I'm afraid also, the action sequences all felt a little too samy, with all the various races you did having basically the same mechanics, hear something, react, with no differences in ambience or requirements to really change up even the feeling of the gameplay. I do appreciate the massive amount of work that went into the game, especially the voicing and soundtrack, and working out the map, but the disconnected story, lack of emotional connection to characters, and a few to many moments of being "told", rather than letting you interact made this one a less satisfying experience, albeit though I will say since this is probably just less my preferd genre anyway, I might not be seeing matters in as positive a light as some. Hope the next chapters of the game improve on things.

True enough. That's what I've been trying to do. In fact I just went looking for some royalty free fantasy type music just to listen to it and see if a particular style caught my fancy. Well that and I just like fantasy style music LOL. I don't want to use stock music if I can help it unless I find something that's really good, but the more I can listen to the more ideas I may have for the type of compositions I would want to use in my game. Of course then there comes the matter of saving up to potentially hire an actual composer.

So I figured out that the siri voice feature will not work for voiceover on the watch if you are using the australian voice. That is hwat I had been using as my siri voice, but then I downloaded the american voice and sure enough, it worked.

Yes, the chronology of the main line of books is Percy Jackson, Heros of Olympus, Trials of Apollo. Magnus Chase technically takes place in parallel with Trials of Apollo I believe, and Kane Chronicles fits in there somewhere, probably after the main Percy Jackson series in terms of timeline but it doesn't matter.

yeah, also scarred for life by huge container of oil dropped in the kitchen.Don't look at air fryers as fryers.  Look at them as quality small batch convection ovens.  I can get things crispy enough in them though.  The trick is to ignore all the shit about fry on 320 or whatever and just up that sucker to 400, and sometimes to hunt around for different name brands of breaded stuff until you find one that works well.  Popcorn chicken seems to usually work out quite nicely, as do potato skins.  But it can also do basically anything that you'd otherwise put in the oven, as long as you're only looking to feed 1 or 2 people.  I've got an oven that can take up to half an hour to heat up, and an air fryer that takes about 5 minutes.  Guess which one I use more often?

Unfortunately, no.That's the short answer.The long one is that Sable is now in beta phase, as the team is now fully focused on making crimson Eclipse.However, I have heard rumblings that their will be an actual beta test some time much later, so you might; and I stress MIGHT, be able to be a part of that, but don't quote me.It all depends on how Paul Lemm and the rest of the Sable team decide to go about that particular test.I do understand why you'd want to get your hands on it, but the best thing you can do right now is start thinking about what kind of RPG you want to make with it.Otherwise, you'll get Sable up and running and think, "Now what?"Later!

Fubsepude, are you running the game in the framebuffer or from a terminal window from within your graphical desktop?If you're running from within your graphical desktop, check the settings of the terminal you're using and make sure the terminal window is maximized or set to full screen mode. With Konsole, you can press control minus a few times to reduce the font size. In gnome's terminal you can go to Edit -> preferences.If you're running from within the framebuffer it's unfortunately a bit harder. The only way I know is to edit your grub boot loader settings and append a "vga=" setting to grub's configuration. Messing around with the boot loader though can render your setup unbootable, so maybe it's not worth it for you to do that unless you already have a rescue disk at hand and have the time to attempt to do some amount of troubleshooting if a problem arises.What resolution is your terminal anyway?If you didn't know, you can check with the commands 'tput cols' and 'tput lines'

I don't think I've ever had anything air-fried that I'd consider more than lightly battered. Definitely doesn't have the same crunch.That said, it usually hits the "I want something crunchy" spot in my brain well enough to be worth the easier clean-up. I made the mistake of dropping an air fryer vat full of oil once while trying to clean it, and the event scarred me for life. Emotionally that is--it was cool oil, but it went everywhere and was a pain to clean. But my air fryer is so rarely used for frying. It's my favorite way to prepare burgers and chicken indoors. I think my contact grill squeezes out too much juice, and everything tastes dry. I also stir fry veggies, make burritos, etc. And when I want something pre-processed, it beats the hell out of heating it up in the microwave.

I like the atmosphere and setting of blind gladiator with all the different opponents and gear, and on Ios at least, the game was challenging until you got the habit of turning your phone the right way.I just wish there had been a little more, both in terms of more opponents, and more real differences in combat rather than just saving up for the most damaging weapon and wailing away, and in terms of more stuff to buy and upgrades.

English wins because most of programming (or at least, most of programming which got popular) came out of English-speaking countries.  The U.S. has many, many problems but we are responsible for most of the internet, and most of the early programming languages and CPUs came out of the US or UK.But I'm still surprised that, at this point, you can't find good programming/algorithmic resources in non-English languages.

This has reignited my interest in working out the outline for my game, not that I've really lost it really, although I have had other things that occupied me more lately. It may not be the best way to go about things but I've sort of been dividing my time between the game outline itself and working on at least a basic version of the script. Obviously the more of that I can get done between now and whenever we see the full release the better things will be when the time actually comes. I can worry about music, sound effects and voice acting later.

What can I do if my computers screen is not big enough to support lines and colomns required by the game?I'm asking because I do not have a computer with screens bigger than 12-13 inches.The computer I'm on right now is an hp elitebook 2570P.And also if it is possible to configure my computer to 181 colomns and 213 lines or whatever it is, how do I actually go about setting it up?Is it something I have to do in a console like editing a configfile or something?This laptop has its screen resolution set at 1366x768 which I believe is the highest resolution it can handle.It is a 12-inch screen.

So earlier random shit was going through my thoughts and one of those things happened to be.  deep fried verces air fried foods.  Since I started this topic I will say that my favorite way to eat food that is suppose to be crunchy, unhealthy, and coated in breading is to pop it in a vat of oil, or well an actual deep fryer.  I tried the air fryer way, and found that many of the foods didn't get that lovely crunchyness that you get with a deep fryer.  The food also seemed dry, and lacked flavor.  And some foods like zukini and mushrooms tasted slimy.  However, i do know that this is just my personal experience, and I am intrested in what you all like.  I know the air fryer is suppose to be healthyer, but come on, it almost seems laughable. the only unhealthy thing you lack in that is the oil, the rest of the ingredience is for said deep fried foods is still the same.

I sometimes feel as that native english speakers deffinitely have advantages over people who were or are learning english as at least a second language, simply because really complex problems are usually explained in a more professional manor, including several professional terms and more complex text structures. I already encountered several problems where explanations for algorithms or problem solutions weren't available in my native language, which is th reason why I usually go with english-only resources when searching for info on programming-related stuff. But its true that its also a skill that you need to develop, reading and, later on probably even, writing professional texts in the context of your dedicated problem.

Hi.Oh yeah, one more thing, you guys in the US use a grid system for your roads/streats, we don't do that hear.I'm not attacking anyone when I say this but I think it's very important to say, America is not the world and if any Americans want to travel outside of their own country, this really needs to be remembered. It's so emportant to realise that country x isn't going to be like country y, they may have similarities but they're not the same place.I mention this because of the amount of Americans I've read about, not on hear, but on places like reddit, mentioning dollars and things like that even when they're talking about another country.

So they can bill you a bit extra just cause they messsed up on their guestimated figgures?You've got to remember the UK is an older country and therefor has older ways of doing things.This is how you do it with the old system: you get this key like device, go to a post office? Or eletric shop, I'm not sure of the exact shop, then you'd ask to put £20 on the electric, the person does something with the key, you take it home and open this little box and put the card in. The box machine thing then recognises that you have £20 on it, then  beaps, you take the key out; close the door and you're done.It sounds like a lot of steps but it isn't.We're just getting smart meters. I think they started about 2 or so years ago? I'm not sure. My family won't get one because they think it will cost them more as you'll have to pay for it being plugged into the wall, I just think they're scared about this new tech and how it will be different from what they're used to.

Android does provide the NDK if you do want to write your apps/libs in C, but I have no idea how much that library provides. It may only provide the low-level APIs to graphics (Vulkan uses the ANativeWindow struct from that so I think that's what it does provide) or it might allow you to write whole Android apps in C. Even if it does I can't imagine anyone actually wanting to write an Android app in C (though it might actually be easier than doing it in Java/Kotlin/whatever The Android APIs in Java seemed way too over-complicated the last time I looked at them).

There's a particular cryptographic algorithm that builds on top of AES called AES-SIV (and there's a GCM mode based on it called AES-GCM-SIV) that offers some protection if you reuse a nonce/IV, but still, its just not something you do. Its akin to reusing the same encryption key. Sure, the IV is public, but that's no excuse for reusing it. (Hint: if you don't know how to do cryptography properly, do *not* do it at all yourself. Use another library like Cryptography's high-level layer that abstracts all those details away from you. Unless you know what your doing, don't interact with the low-level ciphers themselves, and don't screw around with primitives. If you do that without understanding exactly what your doing, it'll be no one's fault but yours when your encryption gets broken -- and by an amateur cryptanalyst to boot, or someone who's actually malicious out to get you. If you use crypto properly the expert hackers will have quite a time trying to break it, but doing it wrong is just as bad as not using it at all.) I would strongly recommend that the author of this topic go read a book called 'Serious Cryptography'. Its a practical approach to cryptography that goes into great detail about all of this. I'd recommend that very same book to anyone else who is interested. The book is written by one of the authors of the BLAKE2 hash function, and its all factually correct.

You can always write your own engine for your particular game as well. If you come back later and believe that none of the engines suit your particular needs, writing the engine and using tools like pygame and cytolk themselves is a really good way of learning how all of this works under the hood (not to mention its an excellent learning device). Using these frameworks only gives you a slight edge; even with them there's still a lot of code you'll have to write, but these engines take a way all the boring stuff so you can get down to the good stuff. I'd encourage you to try writing your own sometime though if you really want to learn how it all works.
