hat_downSo on the left of your controller, is a thing called the hat. It's a plastic cross-shaped rocker switch. It has 4 directions, forward, backwards, left, and right. They fire when those hat directions are placed.Hopefully I've answered all your questions.

I will try the suggestions. The problem with replacing levels is that my classes are currently not aware of what pushed them.  I would need to figure out a clean way of doing it first, since the game level won’t really have access to the previous state if the latter was replaced.

@59, if that worked I would have Whatsapp on ios for now just to put less stress on my already too old android phone, preserving what is left of this fake battery.I tried everything and there is an app that does it, but it is 30 US dollars, it will probably do it, but since I can't justify paying for that and don't have the funds anyway I can't exactly tell you.Just type in google play Whatsapp transfer and it is the first result, something from Wondershare.Hth.

I for one, do use strong passwords; each one random; by the way; and stored in a password manager; for important stuff, however for games that I only play as a passtime and are unimportant? I always make a bullshit password, maybee easily guessed, or obvious if people know me well enough; but never reuse those passwords. That, plus I always either use temporary email emails on said games and tt, or, just make up a bullshit email like, a...@hotmail.com, or something similar. Just me, though. I used to be one of the people who... didn't really take things like these so, seriously years back, and fortunately I was never hacked, but now? I'm not taking that kind of risk. Although I really get the, oh i'll use the same password because its easy to rember; strategy; I mean, its sorta, appealing, at first glance given one has only to remember one password, a couple at best;  this is really; really not a good idea, and its not worth risking one's self over.

So while using Earwax I encountered an issue. I don't think this is engine-related, hence the seperate topic.I have a levels stack. At the beginning of the game, the main menu is pushed onto the stack. The play option in the menu, if selected, would push another menu onto the stack, which has an option to go back which would cause it to be popped off the stack and hence return you to the main menu. My problem is that the second menu object doesn't get destroyed. If I create a __del__ method, the only time the method would be called is when I choose "quit" in the main menu. Is there any solution to this? Consider:#In the main menu class

@meatbagThanks for being blatantly obvious and accomplishing, what, exactly?At no point did @jj say that its an android problem due to which he could not  run the game, he just had a misconception that he could not play it on his phone, someone replied stating the contrary and suggesting the methods as to how he in fact could enjoy  said game, and he said that he does not trust the screen reader in question. End of discussion, or at least it should have been. I don't see the reason to attack him at all. People have their opinions, and a full right to stick to them. We however, do not have the right to shove ours down their throats, nor attack them on those grounds, notin an in constructive manner anyway. I am sure all of us have many many other places and topics to chat each other up and even have healthy debates that do not involve going after someone who  is clearly only stating their own views, .

That bug preventing the accessibility window from working has been fixed. Note that it's a bit of a brute force fix, the game's provided keyboard shortcuts don't work when the window is up. I haven't really  found myself needing them, but it's something to be aware of.I'm going to keep trying to refine the accessibility a bit. At the moment it's possible to play via a combination of the "#," commands and ". hex number," which lets you select arbitrary hexes for things like physical attacks.One question I've been wrestling with is how much I want to reinvent the wheel. The game has a lot of command buttons for all kinds of things, which generally work on the principle that you select a hex/target first, and then press a button to act on it. That's what my "period," key is for, it lets you select arbitrary hexes and use the game's provided buttons to act on them.The original author of the accessibility code went with a different idea, that you can use "#," commands to essentially do the things the buttons on screen do. THIs is useful for some areas but tedious because there's quite a bit  of code duplication. I'm trying to decide which approach I should go with for future work. My instinct is to try and use the game's built-in support where ever possible, and add new "#," commands only as needed, but the approach is subject to change. This is probably largely meaningless to people not familiar with the game, but I figured I'd put my thoughts out there.

The things that make us who we are all stem from the first curse. Without that element in our history, we would be a different species unless and until someone else committed the original sin. For a second, let's assume no one did. We have insufficient data about what we'd be like. We can't extrapolate with no data points.So, what would it be like? Utopian, I would imagine. It would be paradise but because we've never tasted of sin and temptation, we wouldn't know any better. It would be an existence of pure bliss. We would not have the capacity to know what bad is. Our emotions wouldn't vary, but because we've never experienced sin, temptation, and evil, we wouldn't know that we are missing something.If you take the bit about the first curse out of this though, now we're into some interesting territory. We take what we know about the human race and we multiply it. So, what are we? We're fallible, imperfect, greedy, selfish, dishonest, and hedonistic. All of these traits would be amplified. The more this went on, the more these traits would start showing themselves in everyone else. The kind, loving, and gentle folk would form their own tight-knit communities away from everyone else.Crime would go up, and corruption would run rampant in the governments of the world. Basically, all of the bad aspects of human beings would get worse, and the good aspects of human beings would wither and die.I think this was written back when it was commonplace for no work to get done on Sundays. If we hold true to that notion, then what would get done. What is work? Work surely can't only be fulfilling tasks to receive monetary compensation. Work is different things to different people. Sex workers would have nothing to do because to them, that's work. You could make the argument that they could just sleep around for the fun of it, and perhaps they would, in time.If you weighed 300 pounds, you wouldn't get out of bed, because that would be work. Government would collapse, no food would be made, and we'd all starve. Until that happened though, yeah, it would be a shit show to say the least.

How would I know when someone joins the stream? I don’t want to not talk when someone joins or to talk when someone has left and look like a fool. Also, how would I know when someone follows me? sightlessgamer,It's called the "Accessibility window" in the view menu. THere's currently a bug which makes it harder to use than it should be, and I need to document things better at some point. But basically you use commands starting with "#," such as "#move," "#fire," and "#tile." I didn't actually write most of them, they were largely there when I started looking into this project so it's a little bit confusing.If you wait a bit the bugfix should be committed to master.

Just as an update, I've been getting reacquainted with the game, as it's been a while since I last looked at this. there are a few accessibility bugs which will hopefully be fixed in the next development release. For a bit of background, I thought I'd write up a post explaining the structure of the project, for anyone interested.There are basically three programs, only one of which I've really been focused on. MegaMek is a hex-based war game, with giant mechs battling on maps of various sizes. It includes a quite competent AI opponent, as well as support for multiple players. It's largely tactical, in that its focus is on the combat itself, the terrain and rules for weapons, damage to mechs, etc. That has been the focus of my accessibility efforts thus far.The second program is called MekHQ, and it's basically a campaign system. For those who aren't aware, Battletech not only features rules for the tactical mech combat aspects, but a strategic layer to go on top of them. THere's a system for running mercenary companies, taking contracts for various factions in the BT universe, and basically having an excuse for all the individual battles. MekHQ gives you mission objectives, tracks your pilots, money, equipment, and so forth. It's quite brilliant if you enjoy crunching numbers. It's also a lot more accessible than MegaMek out of the box, being mostly standard controls.Finally, there's MegaMek lab. This is the program I have least experience with. It's used both for designing custom units in the tactical game, and retro-fitting units from MekHQ campaigns. It also appears to be largely  standard controls. Most Battletech players don't really play with custom units anyway, as far as I'm aware, there are thousands of designs from the various source books over the years which work quite well.So in summary, the whole MegaMek project consists of three programs which are somewhat interconnected. MegMek proper is the tactical war game, MekHQ is a complex campaign system, and MegaMek Lab allows you to do unit design. All three of these programs are written in Java, though the code style varies wildly. My interest is largely in running a campaign in MekHQ, so I'll eventually work on accessibility for that as well.I hope this little diversion has been of some interest. I can't promise any kind of timeframe for anything's ince this is an open source passion project, but it's coming along.

There are no English games on the same scale, because the developers in the western community haven't banded together to make one.The short version is there are no English versions of these games and translation is needed, because there aren't enough resources to fully localize them. It takes at least a couple people who are fully bilingual to translate something completely, and if there are any others who have the time or inclination, they haven't mentioned t. I am, but I'm only one person and these games require a lot of translation which I can't practically afford to do without getting paid for the time. And then you get back to the vicious circle of the fact that payment of that kind just isn't possible.

However, WebAuthn will take a long time to adopt, and it undoubtedly won't be supported across all websites. Passwords will still be needed.Also, those password requirements you listed were redacted by NIST in NIST SP 800-63. They were changed significantly to only require a minimum length policy. There are a few other requirements but they aren't relevant here. However, again, that policy will take a while to propagate.

I know how aging works mechanically. the lower your age, the faster you regenerate health. When you get older, you regenerate mana much more quickly, this is why a lot of stuff for cast classes increase your aging because being older is actually a good thing for casters as long as you don't overdo it.

Yes. As post number 2 said, if you unplugged your microphone while streaming, or before the stream started while OBS was opened you'll have to close the program and re-open it. If that doesn't work make sure you didn't make any filters that would limit the volume. Press on the properties button for the microphone you want and go up to filters.There's four buttons and clicking the second will bring up a confirmation to remove your filters... If you have any.Hope this helps

Yeah... Don't be nervous when streaming. It's not that formal and doesn't need to be, so just as long as you don't do anything horribly unprofessional you're fine.Also... I used my phone for looking at chat. It's not the best solution but if you have nothing else it works OK. Just as long as you don't let your stream loop back through the speakers.

having not tried this, won't this *only* stream NVDA's audio?  From my understanding, Discord is incapable of capturing the audio from multiple applications.Being able to stream NVDA on its own could still be potentially useful though!

Passwords are bullshit though. All the time security experts have been telling people to change them regularly, make them strong, and don't use the same one on multiple sites, they could have spent that time and energy researching a better way. Let me ask y'all this, in what ways in our daily lives are we reinforcing our memory?We don't need oration anymore, we have teleprompters. We don't need to memorize phone numbers, we have a contacts list in our mobile devices. When we study for school, most of us are just aiming to pass, not to hold onto the information forever. Anything we need to remember to do, we have reminders and notes in our mobile phones. So, modern technology has severely affected our ability to commit important things to memory because the tech takes care of it for us. Yet, it expects us to remember passwords?What's in a strong password? Let's see, for starters, most sites / apps enforce an 8-12 character minimum. Some places enforce no sequential digits or patterns. You're encouraged to, and in some cases mandated to use a mix of upper and lower case letters. Most places require at least one number. Some require at least one symbol.Those are the minimums. But really, we shouldn't use things important to us like names of our children, pets, birthdates of people in our lives, etc. We shouldn't use words from the dictionary either.Suffice it to say that the requirements for a strong password are a bit over the top. Now, the expectation is that your common every day person who has never had a reason to train their memory in their entire life should now come up with a password and find a way to remember it without writing it down. Well, they just can't. This is especially true when a password is generated for them.The next step is to throw a password manager in the mix, and let it generate all your passwords, except this compounds the problem. If you have 50 passwords, you damn well want to have a strong master password. There is no recovering without your master password, so it better be good, right? Well, if they can't manage a 10 character password with all those requirements I listed above, how will they manager a 16 or so character password.Of course they could do the bare minimum of whatever their password manager allows. They'd just have to hope no one ever got hold of it or they'd be screwed. All of this ties together to make the point that people are not used to using their memory, so making them remember shit that they don't even consider to be all that important just ain't gonna fly.There's got to be a better way, and I think it's coming, but I feel like it could have been realized a long time ago if we didn't readily accept passwords into our lives. How many support tickets do you all think get opened across the globe every day for password related issues? I bet it's a staggering number.One last thing, if you're the type of person who is generally good at math, and you can generate passwords in your head by following a formula or something, you are such a minor percentage of the population that this really isn't addressed to you. So when people like that come out of the woodwork and start saying how it's not that big of a deal, yadda yadda, you're missing the entire point of this discussion.

Heyo all.So sometimes, if I go to somebody's channel on Youtube and click on videos, I can scroll down in the list, e.g. moving by headings, and if I get to the bottom, move with the arrow keys, it realizes I'm at the bottom, and loads more videos. Other times, I get to the bottom, and below the last video, it says "dialogue", and it won't load anymore videos. Here's a channel from a pissy dude I used to know, that does it for me.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2gM1t … ;flow=gridI can get to "machines, 1950", but after that, I can't scroll anymore. This is with latest Windows, Firefox, and NVDA. Anybody have any ideas? My wife says what's happening is that I'm scrolling down to just an inch or less on the scroll bar, so it doesn't get all the way to the bottom and start scrolling in new videos. Some channels work, they have tons of videos, and I can just keep scrolling more in. Others just get to a certain point, and even though there are more videos, nothing. Oh yeah, and please don't suggest another browser. I'm quite happy with Firefox and there's no real reason that this should be a browser issue, since it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. SO clearly Firefox and NVDA can function with this scrolling to load more videos thing Youtube has going on. I was going to contact Youtube or Google about it, but I have no idea how to do that, other than mailing Youtube an actual letter.

Nocturnus is a much better writer than I am and thus he is putting something together to explain what's up, and also to invite some people to have a chat about development. We do have 4 children, and I just had a major eye surgery, so we're not trying to be slow on purpose, I promise.I'll fill in what I can, and yes I realize its still vague.Sadly, that's because we don't want to get peoples hopes up, or dash any hopes either. We want to do this right, and fully expect the development stage to take quite some time before we can even open for Alpha testing.We want to make a mud, yes. I won't say what type at this time, that will be discussed with the developers, but we do not want everything to be public until closer to Alpha. The reason for this is simple.Does anyone remember Stellaris? I do, I looked forward to it, and then because of a complicated set of circumstances beyond anyones control, it didn't happen.Now, what I can say is this.Our team already consists of 3. We already have a timeline, and plans.At this point we just need to hire the programmer/programmers, and get the thing coded.Once that happens we'll have a closed Alpha in which we'll invite some of you to play and find bugs.After the closed Alpha, we'll have a public Beta, and then we'll open everything.Understand, though this could take anywhere from I'd say, 6 months to 2 years.There's a reason, though we want this game to succeed, and we want it done right.The 3 of us have played many MOOs/Muds and know what we want and don't want.If you like or liked any features of Star Conquest, Miriani, what was to be Stellaris, Cosmic Rage, Alter Aeon, etc. you'll more than likely find something once we're ready to share with you.I can say this, this MOO will be similar, yet different to anything you've ever played, and the reason is simple. There's things we've all liked about games we've played, and things we haven't, so all of our ideas will be put together.The biggest thing that will set us apart, I think is once we open, things will be very simple to begin. The players will drive the story. There will be coded systems, but the players will have to drive the story to unlock said systems.So now that I've probably frustrated everybody with a bunch of vague nothingness, Nocturnus will be following up with emails and posts sometime either today or tomorrow.We have a story, we have a team of 3, which will hopefully become 4 to 7, depending on who agrees to help. We have plans for the mechanics, a donator program, events, and much, much more.Once we've got the coder/coders figured out, which will hopefully happen in the next couple days, and once we have things set up a bit more, we will be putting a call out for builders as well. As mentioned in the first post, these are compensated positions. The nature of the compensation will be discussed privately, but I think we've came up with a system that will fairly work for those who want to be involved for the duration.If you decide to work with us, our hope is that you'll stay with us, not just for development, but even once the game opens. We invision that this game will continue to expand, and develop even once we're completely open. There will be coded systems, but the players will have to drive the story to unlock said systems.So now that I've probably frustrated everybody with a bunch of vague nothingness, Nocturnus will be following up with emails and posts sometime either today or tomorrow.We have a story, we have a team of 3, which will hopefully become 4 to 7, depending on who agrees to help. We have plans for the mechanics, a donator program, events, and much, much more.Once we've got the coder/coders figured out, which will hopefully happen in the next couple days, and once we have things set up a bit more, we will be putting a call out for builders as well. As mentioned in the first post, these are compensated positions. The nature of the compensation will be discussed privately, but I think we've came up with a system that will fairly work for those who want to be involved for the duration.If you decide to work with us, our hope is that you'll stay with us, not just for development, but even once the game opens. We invision that this game will continue to expand, and develop even once we're completely open. It'll be a group effert from the staff and players.I hope I haven't made any of you hate me for all my vagueness, but our hope is to create a place where our dreams can become reality, and where everyone can have fun.

Hi all.I've already backed everything up yeah, but there's a thing with whatsapp. Will I be able to recover my old chats as I've been doing so with androids? Because people told me that backup copies of whatsapp are stored in google drive if you're android, and in iCloud if you're apple. Will I be able to do that? I have a lot of important chats I do not want to lose, also so many hilarious messages I've been storing for quite some time.

I would agree that paying for this service isn't really worth it. I have to be honest, most people who swear by LeetCode are those who had a lot of success practicing day in and day out, just to get into a big tech company. I went through my FAANG phase, and yes, LeetCode helped me. But all it really helps with is practicing for interviews! The actual coding on the job does not incorporate skills from doing so many obscure algorithm and data structure problems. So, unless you want to shell out 35 dollars a month to eventually try your hand at interviewing at companies like Google, I wouldn't recommend it. Besides, LeetCode already has a lot of nice free content that can still do the job in preparing you for that. Oh, and if you're a competitive programmer, I would probably recommend it, but even for that there are better resources. That being said, LeetCode does have the largest database of DSA questions, but again, many of them are obscure, or only really of interest to those who compete in these programming contests.
