The nice thing is, the books offer so much insight into all the characters, it becomes impossible not to like alot of them. But I don't think it was too long.Many times my feeling was wait is this over already? when reading the books. And there are references across all the other cosmere books is nice too. My theory is that an apocolyptic event across all the cosmere is coming, and stormlight archive is where it will be covered. You can also come to a similar conclusion after reading mistborn era II. Multiple points of view. By the end of the second book, a sort of pseudo-apocalypse is being threatened, and we're four books in. Nothing super original in there though.The problem with urban fantasy is that if it isn't Dresden files exactly or borderline BDSM erotica for at least one chapter of the book, no one cares. Actually, amusingly enough the game does have a save to file option, although the internal saving system also seems pretty consistent from what I gather so I haven't used it as yet, which as I said makes me all the more a great big dingbat for not saving bee for I ran into the honey trap . succubus milk can be got from the imps, though the best way of finding them is continuing to use the explore button, which gives some general low level encounters like imps and goblins. I'm trying to get enough succubus milk to put one over on Kelt at the moment.I'm playing a male pc as I did before, although the game has a lot of interesting female options, and usually going my route of paladin, namely focus on physical attacks with buffs that complement, so lots of white magic spells and perks for combat evasion, along with Jojo's training, though I am finding the possess special a handy route when I need to lustify something into submission, indeed I took out a level 13 spider morph that way while being level 8. I've now cleared the factory and am working up to the deep woods. I forgot that the high mountain loads on the next page of places, so for a while was stuck at level 9 having a choice of really low level, or higher level monsters, which was a miner pest, although oddly enough the high mountain seems skewed towards encountering npcs like Sophie, Mizumi and Minerva rather than monsters, though whether this is just my weird luck I don't know. I think what happened then was FS had a program that enabled braille display developers to have signed drivers before FS would allow them drivers into the product. It was $5000 a year for those braille display developers to get the signed drivers to FS so that FS could put the signed drivers into JAWS. The irony was that the reason this came into the place was that when JAWS was updated, whatever the braille display the person had stopped working with JAWS and the drivers needed constant updating. A Simplified Guide for Getting Started With Eurofly WHAT IS EUROFLY?Eurofly is a flight simulator, which contains digital atlas for the blind. It is based on real GPS system, and it contains all the maps of the world! But in my opinion, the game has some aviation issues, it's still a great game. I will not personally call it as a simulator for now. Let's see what exciting things Eurofly 3.0 has to offer.Eurofly gives a variety of options.a. Enter your home city and look what is 10KM north, south, east west;b. Be a pilot and carry passengers from one place to the other;c. Free Flying (fly for fun, with or without passengers anywhere);d. Check what is under the GPS coordinates which can be found on the internet.If you like the sound of this, Visit the Eurofly's Download Center!EXPLORING THE MAIN MENUAbout Eurofly. Gives a brief info of what Eurofly is, we have already covered that up.Tasks: the application will give you a special task. So you have to fly from one place to another. You can experience to have some ordered stopovers or to change the aircraft on your route or to have to fly through some certain countries or avoid them. You have to respect this all within your flight. You can read your task if you press A. Shift+A lets you see a brief review of your task and Ctrl+Shift+A shows you a list of what you have already done. Then you have all the means to fulfill your task and it depends just on your smartness whether you can make it. If so, you will hear a congratulations in the end but otherwise just an information you haven't fulfilled your task. Then there will appear a file called tasklog.txt saved in the application folder. There you can read what mistakes you have done. If you need to change your aircraft somewhere, press Ctrl+A. But for my money's worth, try Best Served Cold.Some others though:Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series. I haven't read anywhere near all these books, but this one is tough for some people because a good deal of the violence is of the BDSM persuasion.Sandman Slim is Richard Kadrey; can confirm, it's gory. Fast, vicious and pulls few punches.R.S. Belcher's Brotherhood of the Wheel and Nightwise are slightly less gory, but they're plenty dark, and some of the violence is nasty.The Axe and the Throne is pretty brutal as well. This one is by M.D. Ireman.Apparently Peter V. Brett's Demon Cycle gets pretty ugly in places as well. I only ever read the first book, which has moments but doesn't go crazy on the violence.Alex Marshall's Crimson Empire series is also pretty grimdark. As, I believe, is Richard Morgan's Steel Remains series. That latter, though, don't take my word on it entirely, as again, I've only read the first book. It took me a couple tries to get into it because it's intentionally written to read like the famous authors from back then, so the writing takes some getting used to, but the reward is very worth it.A better summary of Ocean at the end of the lane is, perhaps, man with eldrich abomination childhood friend returns home. After that I couldn't really go back.Jemisin is dark, fair warning. But inheritance trilogy is also good (not by Paolini, also by Jemisin, don't get them confused). That one is gods turned out to be a fucked-up family and because reasons they end up bound to an evil empire as the equivalent of superweapons, but take every chance they get to try to make them regret it--did you say destroy that empire over there? Well, the easiest way was, I just removed the continent. sort of thing. But 5th season is way better, so I'd start there. Fantasy book recommendations Hi there.I'm looking for a fantasy book out there with violence, gore, and all that stuff. I like a good healthy bit of ass kicking. I read the entirety of the Sword of Truth series, the First Law series, and all of those books were plenty of what I enjoy. So anything in that vein as long as it has magic involved in it. Again, there's a little gore, but it's not the focus; if you liked Wheel of Time, you'll have no problem with this. Characterization is Abraham's strongest point; that, and his language, which is pretty without being fluffy. His plot takes a bit to get going, but it's fairly believable on the whole, and it quickly became a series I really got into. Five books.Seconding Ocean at the End of the Lane, which messes with the mutability of memory and mortality and evil. Canlorn's right though; it's really hard to explain this one without just dumping the plot on you. A really rough try would look like this. A middle-aged man returns to the place where he grew up, and remembers some uncanny parts of his childhood, including a friend who is far more than she seems, forces too large to understand, and a clash with an evil so malevolent that it nearly unmakes his world entirely.For urban fantasy, try Zoo City by Lauren Beukes. It's gritty and dark-ish, but not especially nasty, and there's not much gore. Basic premise of that one is easier to explain. In the world of Zoo City, all criminals have somehow manifested animals which must remain near them at all times; this makes it very easy to recognize most criminals on sight. One of these, Zinzi, a down-on-her-luck South African woman, takes an offer that looks simple and turns out to be anything but. As she hunts down a missing person, the world becomes far more complicated than she would have believed.If you want urban fantasy with werewolves and vampires and shit, and you don't like Dresden because 1. it's male-focused or 2. it's sexist or 3. it's too dark, try Patricia Briggs's Mercy Thompson series. It's a sorta scrappy urban fantasy/romance thing, where the romance isn't laid on too outrageously thick (it's there, and you'll have to pay attention to it, but it's not the main story). At the heart of these stories are mysteries that usually work pretty well. Characterization is decent (some are better than others), the dialogue is fairly snappy and the plot moves fairly fast.If you want something that's more a blend of fantasy and sci-fi, look no further than N.K. Jemisin's Fifth Season trilogy. It's well-written and well-constructed. The characterization is strong. Plot is a little slow, but Jemisin doles out big reveals extremely well. There is a little blood and violence in some places, but again, if you can handle Wheel of Time, you can absolutely handle this. This is one of the better fantasy series I've read in years. Usually I come away from a Sanderson book wanting to punch them for being unrealistic idiots for the sake of the plot.The genre you might be looking for is called low fantasy. Or perhaps slice of life. Those are terms for kind of the same thing: characters doing everyday things, the novel. Not very much saving the world or anything. I'm not a good guide to such things, though.It is easier to find optimistic sci-fi than fantasy. Fantasy is very much rooted in the Tolkienesque save the world and there's armies and etc. tradition.I'm your guy for subverted/played with tropes, though not so much for happy books. I've already named the most optimistic ones I can think of offhand unless I'm allowed to mention a couple sci-fi things, or go further into the romance genre than Klune's weird half-romance half-normal-fantasy niche (the good romances--not the ones that are porn trying to masquerade as something respectable--are entirely character driven and about people finding happiness). You can name the files anything you want, since when naming sounds in Text Game Maker you have to number them. I'll definitely be adding you to the credits section of the documentation! As I said before, how can I reward these people? With all the work they've done, the game could be out in less than one week if I didn't have lots of math homework. All the translation is done, and that was the hardest part. The game is also planned, so I just have to turn it into code and hope that the enemies don't do too much damage. So if you're like 200 points behind at level 99, and you don't have any life tonics left, go and fight weak stuff so you get really awful exp. Tons of fights later, you'll hit level 100 and get a whole truckload of TP. BGT is already too slow due to the fact that 100 percent of the game logic is written in a scripting language. It has to be said though, I find JAWS to work faster with braille displays. It doesn't lag or anything. Whereas NVDA if you start working fast with one, it will freeze faster than JAWS. No messing with display drivers, no need to mess with a box to add a display to jaws, and the worse thing for me was that it did not even work after adding a display when I tried that with Jaws 2014 with one I used back then. I have only the Handy tech Connect 40, and the first time I tried it, I didn't really need to do anything. In fact, I love NVDA's automatic detection of braille displays as opposed to JAWS. JAWS has this annoying dialog where, when you disconnect the braille display, it keeps saying "no Braille Display detected". It's hell annoying. I’m a huge terry Pratchett fan, so I second Camlorn’s recommendation for the disk world books, I’ve read the whole series, there’s some great characters in there and some great books, all with a nice touch of humour too. I think a lot of fantasy books I’ve read all have some degree of violence, so I guess its whether your happy with a little violence as long as it’s not overly gory, which is why I was asking about what books you’ve enjoyed in the past. dragon riders of pern comes to mind as a book without any gore (lots of books in the series and great for anyone who loves dragons obviously too). News: their will be a massive update to this game that requires the player to restart, so if anyone was thinking of playing from the beginning, wait until the next update.The reason why some updates require restarting is because of how forming party members works in Text Game Maker. Say, for example, that you had made a game with two people. You created the two people (user1 and user2) in d_start, then finished writing the main game. Throughout the game, you had wanted to make one of them be on their own. In the scenario data, you would write something likes51pts=0,1s51pts順=0,1That tells the game to make the second person be the only one in your party. Now as you were writing the game, you thought of adding a third character. You would do that by creating user3 in d_start. Now, comes the problem. As you saw in the two lines, they saids51pts=0,1s51pts順=0,1Their were only two numbers, not 3. Each number represents a character. All you need to do is add a third number. Two make a full party with all 3 people,s100pts=1,1,1s100pts順=1,2,3If you were in the middle of the game and you had just added that third party member, the game would crash when it got to the part ware the new character was to be used unless you restarted from the beginning. This update will add a fifth party member to The Blank Game 2. I don't know when it will be out, but the update will give the game some replay value. Before you ask about the third game, yes it's still being worked on. I want to finish this first, then I'll go back to working on The Blank Game 3. I think instead of releasing another beta, I'll just go and put up 1.0 when it's done. And actually, I have one more thing to ask about the game. If someone who has played Pokemon Black or White or just knows these songs could answer this, that would be great. I did a lot of searching on the internet first, nothing. Their is a character in Pokemon Black/White 1 or 2 known as N, I think. I am using one of his battle songs in this game for... Reasons. When searching for Pokemon Black/White VS. N battle themes, I found two of them. One was the final battle, and one just said VS. N. I think I found the correct one to use for normal battles, but only Pokemon Champions (definitely not me) can answer that! I will upload a .zip with the songs, and I need opinions on them in terms of volume, or if I should pick out better versions? If I can find out how, I should reward (meaning pay them or buy them a game they'd want) all the people who have helped me develop this game by answering all these questions. Yes I'm writing all the code, but they gave me the information about starter Pokemon which might have taken a lot of work. Agreed with everyone though, Sable doesn’t fit the criteria for this specific list., The Sable prototype is not designed to be an engine for making audio games, instead it’s just a tool to make RPG’s, but not even all types of RPG’s but just specifically turn based RPG’s. the prototype was like I said never designed to be an audio game engine , its primary concept has always been focused on giving people a code free tool to turn their own ideas and stories into a turn based RPG, specifically more aimed towards people without any coding experience. I think we have a lot of hugely talented creative individuals within the community, but not everyone’s designed for coding, the idea is that hopefully Sable gives those people a chance to try turning their hand at making a turn based RPG. Sable will be my first full project, it’s been a huge learning curve for me and I’ve definitely still got tons more to learn, but it’s been a good experience and taught me lots (including a ton of ways not to do things in the future hahaha).
