Re: Kickstarter campaign by Audazzle: Aloniverse S1D1

bit late to the party, and the project never got funded or promoted. Nevertheless I'm happy and proud of the team to say that we made the deck and the app anyhow. It''s fair to say at this stage we are in Alpha with the app and Beta with the deck. Developing games that are inclusive and accessible is really hard work. But email me with your phone number and I will phone you to discuss (within 72hrs of this post... only) The beta deck come with an alpha app that reads the cards using augmented reality markers, so Braille is not needed, it is/was an option. The Deck is not a game, its a reason to get together and make / play games. S1 means series 1, D1 means deck 1.Adding Braille to the cards is very time consuming (ask Dan) and there are no printers willing to do it for free (ask Andy... ) even RNIB wanted to charge us a very large amount of money that would of meant retail prices was over £30.00 . Not sure its fair to expect companies huge or tiny companies to give things to us. On a more progressive note, If you (or anyone else reading this) want to be involved in the development of this deck (that would be really helpful and appreciated). We have a handful of Braille copies left and about 20 non braille copies left. I'm currently working on using the cards and phones to participate in a multiplayer RPG style game. I've extended the current prototyping to make it possible for multiple players to play games with the cards even when they are not in the same room or same place. (as long as they each have a deck). @9th Duke of SLJ , TO BE CLEAR We never had any intention to charge for the card reader app (which renders the non braille version accessible anyhow), I think the campaign just wanted to say that backers weren't funding the cost of the accessibility. Perhaps that caused you confusion. Not advertising ... details on our website, add a note like "urfx sent you"p.s. Braille version costs less because you'll be eligible for free postage. hopefully between Dan and I we have covered the issues

Re: Mists of Audazzle

Folks we've made a stack of progress since this topic started... not least audible gun sight. talking buttons. narration for levels 1-8 (with more to come in the next release -- if you find them useful). settings screen. statto (experimental talking score update etc). web based TTS since Google and others became unreliable. three ways to create your own game challenge very rudimentary prototype... in all honesty I never worked so much on a project or have been so motivated to do it. Marie (my wife and Audazzle co-founder) persuaded me to get this latest release out 2.1 . She is right we need feedback so we can the good stuff forward into new games and with time to keep improving the original game JumpInSauceRS .  The latest links on our website. www.audazzle.com . If you want early and access to PC and MAC before we submit to the stores for those platforms then simply join our Facebook Group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/780129605420090 look forward to meeting you all on there or here. NEWS: FYI personally working on a VR + inclusive + audio prototype , and a very simple car racing audio / inclusive accessible prototype while waiting for your and others feedback. Via our Facebook Group you can also get exclusive insider stuff like our BAG workshop / system prototyping (where you get to make a game). hmm what else has happened since my last post. BBC radio interview, showcased by UKTI at Innovate UK, showcased at Insomnia Games Festival... potential retail partner and toys partner have started talking seriously with us. Applied for tech innovation grant. Never a dull moment and although I'm quite on the forum its because all efforts have been in production. My uni did a nice youtube video and I have an exert of the BBC interview if anyone's interested in hearing what happened when Tom at InTouch came to meet the family. A couple of TV channels want to know if we have a product and mission worth interviewing us about, now more than ever we need downloads that send a message of support. Not paid downloads, FREE downloads is just as powerful a message. Not saying this latest release brilliant or anything, just saying its another step forward with more determination than ever to create something. What we need is voices of support. Reach out to me if you want to know more on the technical side or about the new projects or if you want to help. Genuinely think some of the stuff we've done is ground breaking and need your help to make it world class. For example, a few folks getting stuck at level 7 if you agree we can make that level less complex audibly and less enemies to deal with... at about level 9 / level 10 there are ways to get through... Statto's updates would give you a clue... it then tapers off towards level 15 with experiments on styles of visuals for sighted gamers. OK thats enough babble, here's the links again...Audazzle wrote: the Android version of JumpInSauceRS on Google Play store, which you can find here:Paid https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta … p;hl=en_GBFreehttps://play.google.com/store/apps/deta … p;hl=en_GBWe have also now released the iOS version of JumpInSauceRS on iTunes Connect Store, which you can find here:Freehttps://itunes.apple.com/us/app/free-ju … 9658?mt=8#Paidhttps://itunes.apple.com/us/app/jumpins … 8278?mt=8#

Re: Mists of Audazzle

quick post to say I haven't stopped trying to get a JumpInSauceRS release of better quality out there, and I'm at the point where this is very close. if any audiogamers are willing to try out an array of features and new ways to test/share results please just email sel...@audazzle.com 1. we now have a prototype talking scoreboard / "ships computer" that is somewhat of a maverick hence his/her code name is MaverickTTS ... Maverick needs work (and therapy) but having it does mean you can hear your progress and score without relying on a web based TTS. It also means we can put a switch on it to toggle or mute it. 2. thanks to MaverickTTS we were able to finally do a web build (yes that means we are close to a PC build) which I know a few gamers have been asking for. I've been working on web build after web build all day trying to flush out the best way to login as a previous character ( for e very specific tester who loved their Mists of Audazzl
e character that much... I couldn't say no)3. shouldn't forget to mention the rival challenge thing, [[wow]] that was fun (hmm)... so we have a web based challenge maker and an email based challenge maker, both randomly create a custom challenge in the name of your character... so if you are super lazy then you can simply submit and get a reward...  4. rewards engine... so in the style of the surreal ramblings of Dark Sock... JumpInSauceRS is being backed with rewards...so lots of details and lots of potential usability issues to find and fix. point is I could be doing this over and over till Christmas, so can anyone spare time to help? ---q1. anyone used everyplay? or maybe didn't know they were? its a way to record and share playing a game. I embedded this yesterday thought it would help get the best feedback. anyhow this week and next week I just need some people to agree to help me find the issues that must be sorted
to get the final version of JumpInSauceRS ... up to fun factor 1 (on a scale of 1 - 10) ... would just love to get to 1. apologies of cross posting I'll also post this where folks have been discussing Audazzle and on our Facebook page...

Re: Mists of Audazzle

thanks Haramir. glad to hear about your Android phone! This week we have been working on rival challenge... if your patient at game over (and connected to the web) the scoreboard will announce your position and your nearest rivals... we are adding a feature to get ranking points and medals by either challenging or accepting a challenge. players get to redesign the level, how long it lasts, how many lives and so on. last night I was up late testing the prototype which I hope will be ready for blind / VI beta testing next week, its quite a geeky interlude from the simple game play mode... you get asked to edit something called JSON... which is a very simple way to organise data that is sent between devices / computers and apps. I fear it might be too fiddly and off putting some gamers off trying but lets see. and there is a cop out and go with the random settings anyhow. However if thats the case then we will provide an accessible web page with a form... ironically I think sighted users will find this more accessible for them.. still reading? GREAT thanks for bearing with me.So Rival Challenge for Mists of Audazzle games (like JumpInSauceRS) it works like this.you tap challenge rivalsyour email app is opened (just like Mists Incarnation) ... if your lazy you need only tap send at this point. anyhow if the geek in you is allowed to emerge...a randomly generated challenge is place slap bang in the middle of the email... between triple square brackets. in the form of JSON text file. like the one here...Hello Liut Vahroh,Check this (your game challenge) email carefully, optionally edit it with the utmost care and then send it.! Your game settings were generated with maths magic. The settings are presented to you in a format Earthlings called JSON. If you choose to make the game your own and edit the JSON, you must keep text inside speech marks, do not delete square brackets, keep the simple numbers (no decimals), do not delete any commas or the {} parentheses (squiggly brackets)… HERE ARE YOUR GAME SETTINGS. [[[{game_name: The Liut Vahroh Challenge Trophy, lives:1, bullets:352, created_by: Liut_Vahroh@audazzle,base_level:4,shields:5,timer_in_seconds:252,jumps:2 }]]] once your done editing or if you like the settings you have had randomly generated simply send this email and we will send you back a confirmation email with a special link to test your game… after you tested the game you tap the challenge my rivals and the message will be sent to your nearest rivalsCheers Dark Sock-- by the way I need those triple brackets to denote where the JSON settings starts and ends. now once you either send or edit/send the email... your good to go... back in fun mode. email is sent to our gateway and Dark Socks evil email bot gets to work weaving a specially encoded jumpinsaucers url that gets fired back to you in the form of a simple email and a link. this is because as the creator of the game you must be the first person to test your game... you simply tap the link it opens JumpInSauceRS and some new code I did this week extracts the settings from the encoded url and your taken to the game...you play your game challenge... (perhaps we might limit it to stop you becoming too nifty -- to be confirmed) assuming you like it... and once your done, you will then tap the send to rivals button... Im coding on these next steps tonight... and the plan is...an email gets sent to your rivals with the special link.your rivals then face a challenge with consequences as followstake the challenge gain a medal and ranking points whether you win or lose... or squirm and lose ranking points if you dont respond by a certain date ( or stardate hehe) ... I dont know what should happen for the the winner of the challenge ... so open to suggestions. anyhow it feels good to be at the stage where we can offer a game that lets you make your own accessible / inclusive game. albeit very step 1... I just hope the step is appreciated and in the right direction. Official launch is set for Septemeber, like I said we hope to at beta much sooner and with your help make this a game for blind, VI and sighted to enjoy. cheers urfx.

Apple have approved Free JumpInSauceRS 1.2.3 for test flight anyone who wants to test the accessibility of this and future releases right now can do so by emailing me sel...@audazzle.com , this is a request for internal testers so you would be considered part of the Audazzle team. 1.2.3 is pending approval for public release... with Darks comments in mind we will share the results of early testers and perhaps agree a set of criteria independence rating being one of them. We will do better with future communications.

@Dark I take personal responsibility for the decision to release the early version although it was discussed long and hard with the team. Technically I believed we had no choice, I could not find anyway to submit the latest version for approval until I had release the already approved version. So we are already waiting now for Apple to approve version 1.2.3 which fixes the issue for sign up. 1.2.3 is available now for Android. I dont know if you are aware, but Apple take their time and are a law unto themselves when it comes to approving changes to a game. As a father of a blind child and a friend of many blind adults and children I did not make the decision lightly indeed the game had been approved some months ago and we did not release it. We went to new college Worcester and tested new versions until we had a tried and tested solution for sign up.This week we discussed releasing the game and the notice to give with it. What tipped the decision f
or me was that effectively we couldnt submit the fixed version for approval until we had release the already approved version. That is, I could not find a way to do this via Apples developer console. So I felt we had no choice in the end. Perhaps there is a way but I could not find it.Please be assured of my passion and very personal commitment to making Audazzle games inclusive and accessible. Please also be assured of the passion of the team and those volunteering their time to make this happen. Please contact me personally and I would encourage anyone on this forum to do so.
