I'm generally in favor or leaving the map how it is, but I can make it smaller if people really want that. From my experience it doesn't really take too long to find someone to kill with the current size, and plus this way you have plenty of space to collect items undistracted for a while if you need to do that.

Possibly use something like win arrow tweaker to disable defender completely? Adding exclusions has always worked for me in the past, but who knows.

@jacek, I did say pretty clearly in the first post that it was a public beta release and that it should be treated as such. I didn't put it in the devs room A because I don't believe in that mentality and besides it's not exactly alfa, and B because we thought the game was a lot more stable than it ended up being. In any case, now it's very stable other than the lag that still spikes from time to time so that shouldn't be an issue.I'm not sure why you guys get the idea that sediment is or was an admin but it's completely false. I never said that in any of my posts, and I'd really appreciate it if you could stop spreading around bad roomers, specially when you have no idea how the game works or what admins really can or can't do. To answer your question though @jayde, the reason we still allow sediment here is because he hasn't yet done anything against the rules here. Rather, he has but he's already been given a warning for it. I don't believe in banning people for things they do in other games or forums. As much as I personally dislike the guy, I just don't think that'd ever be fair or a good way to administrate regardless of where you're coming from.

BGT will always have this issue.@rorygames, your ban was for another reason completely unrelated to sediment. I won't go into specifics here, but given your activities yesterday as reported by the rest of the team, I think it's fair to say you know what you did wrong.

Hi,I'm not sure why the safe zone exit doesn't always seem to work for some of you. I've never had problems with it personally. It's possible server lag may stop you from exiting the safe zone right away. Perhaps check your ping if you find that it isn't working.You guys have already done a pretty good job of answering jayde's questions, but I'd just like to add this. The chat feature exists for a reason. Never be afrade to ask for help if you need it. I myself have no problem helping out new players, and I'm sure others don't either.

@205, thanks for the suggestions. The damage of the ultrabomb has been reduced, and it also now has a limited range rather than exploding the entire map. As for mines making noises, they don't. You're probably confusing mines with ultrabombs.

Hi,Let me first just say that I completely disagree with the hole you must be a developer to criticise other developers thing, at least in cases where the criticism doesn't involve anything to do with code, and I won't take you any less seriously because of that.Secondly, yes I know the game could have done with more testing. As I've said, we thought it was stable, we didn't do as much testing as we probably should have done and the beta team was pretty disorganised throughout development. I gave a bad impression. With that said, know that we are trying to hammer out bugs and make the game better and more original. All we ask is that you come at us with an open mind. Games like these are largely community driven by their very nature, so if the community won't help the game will suffer as a result. Of corse me and Ivan have ideas, but we only have a limited supply of those.On another note, I just released another update with more fixes to speedhack detection, a new client MOTD system, ability to mute and unmute chats and online / offline messages, etc. Check it out.

@jayde, you may be correct. Again, I'd like to re itterate that from the testing we were able to do, it seemed stable. I wouldn't have released it otherwise. I'll do my best to learn from this though.In other news, we've just done some massive reworking of the game's code which should dramatically decrease lag, off loading a lot of things to the client so the server has to do much less work. If you previously stopped playing because of lag, I'd erge you to give it another shot.

Few things here.@amerikranian, you may recall me messaging in the beta skype several times after an update was released for people to come online so we could make sure a new feature or whatever was working without issues. You weren't around in the few days leading up to release, but then when we were recoding the weapon system I asked several times for anyone available to come online because we needed as many people as possible connected so we could make sure lag wouldn't be a problem before release. Usually about three or 4 people would help, but a large number of people in the group basically did a hole lot of nothing for most of the beta period.You may also remember me asking for ideas. I was sometimes given some, but usually they were impractical to add or just too outside of what I could do at the time. Often times my messages simply went un replied to.So no, it's not like I didn't try, because I did. It's just that most of the people in that folder weren't around when we needed them, or weren't around all together.Regarding custom servers, an idiot is completely right on this one. Custom servers basically murdered sbp, tk, rtr and up, for usually the same or similar reasons. Sorry, we're not doing that again.

Hi there,You can get health by picking up health items. I may add antibiotics or something in the future for those who would rather be able to have health items in reserve should they need to use them.To the person asking about testing with lag and speedhack detection.Speedhack detection wasn't actually added until after release, when we noticed several people abusing it. As for the lag, the most beta members we could usually get on at a given time was around 3 or 4. We were never truly able to test the game with massive amounts of players. Even when it went public for a week in september, we never noticed any real lag issues then, probably because the player count was about the same. We just had no way of  preparing for this, and no way to see this coming.Speaking of lag, we're about to release an update transitioning back to the old server. I was hoping this one would help fix the lag issue at least to a degree, but it seems to have if anything made things a lot worse.

@rory and @thetrueswampgamer, your ping may depend partly on where exactly you are in relation to the server. This particular server is based in germany, so if you're in the US your ping may not be as good as, say, me over here in the UK. It should still be ok actually performance wise though, or at least no worse than before. Are you experiencing any lag when doing actual game things? Pings don't really matter so much so long as the game is playable without issue.

@simba, audiogame is correct in that this game uses speed stop sound, which was open sourced by Sam Tupy, and may also be the same system used in redspot but I'm not sure on that one.Btw, to those of you having download issues, it should be fixed now. The file got deleted somehow.

Hey guys,If you are still having issues with speedhack detection, try redownloading the game. We added it because of a large amount of abuse, but it gave us a lot more issues than we antissipated.About the lag, we know it exists. Right now we are in talks with carter temm to see if he can help us resolve the issue. In the meantime, know that we know the server lags a lot, and complaining about it over and over won't make us fix it any faster.

@15, it's ok. Everyone likes different things. I myself find games like these incredibly difficult owing to my autism giving me huge sensory overload, assentially meaning that I hear all these sounds and things and weapons and... it all kind of blends into a cacophony of noise. It also doesn't help I feel just about every emotion about 10 times harder than a regular person. I enjoy playing these games though partly because of the challenge, and partly because I like the concept so much anyway I can usually laugh it off when I get killed.In other news, I just pushed an update adding F4 to toggle beacons, as well as a server update which should hopefully fix our crashing issues with poisonstars.

Your level depends on a lot of factors in the game. Number of hazards jumped, bombs / animals avoided, bolders and probably walls destroyed, etc. Doing things in game earn you level points which contribute to your level. Not sure exactly how many level points there are to a level, but yeah.

It wouldn't surprise me if cython just isn't a thing on the mac. You need the visual C runtimes in order for them to work on windows, and I dout mac has that kind of technology. I could be wrong though and obviously liam did something to protect his tgtr code, but who knows.This leads me to a good question though. I wonder how easily .app files can be extracted? I would at least hope they're not as easy as .ipa files on IOS.

Coming from someone who watched while a lot of this game was coded and debugged, I can tell you now this wasn't just a throw away project. First of all he not only coded the bgt version, but then recoded the intire thing from scratch in python. Also let's just be real here, this is a very new registration system using mysql, a language Ivan isn't all that expeerienced in. I personally would have tryed to test the registration system a little more, but with college and other things going on I can understand why he just wanted the thing released, and it didn't help that I was usually the only person besides carter who could help test new things throughout development of the python version. Security, in a language like python, is much more difficult to master, so if you want your payments to be at all worth it I'd recommend letting him polish the system without jumping down his throat about it. At least he's providing support and by the looks of it refunding people their money.

I think people are being a little, ok more than a little unreasonable here. Then again, I honestly wouldn't expect much less from this forum. So he realises he can't update the game, and rather than just leave it paid like another popular audiogame dev, ahem ahem mister baker, he's actually offering to make it free so it can continue to be enjoyed once ivan reaches a point where he can no longer support the game, which is getting ever closer as he moves through college and gets a job.Oh and guys, this game is 5 dollars. Ok? 5. I spend a lot more than that every week just buying basic things like food.

I will honestly never understand people who keep coming back to this game and giving the dev money he doesn't actually deserve. Sure if you really wanted to you could talk about me having baught stuff from there before, but the difference is I don't play around the clock like some of you, in fact I bearly play at all, just login from time to time to see what's going on. If you want sam to actually do anything about your complaints you'd be better off just not playing his game for a while, not buying his crap, etc, because at the end of the day right now he doesn't actually have to give a crap because the money is just rolling in.

Ok I'll bite.I think most of you probably saw this coming so I won't hold off anymore. SBP is once again being discontinued, and this time for the last time, at least on our end. Part of the agreement with mason was that he was still allowed to maintain and develop his own version of sbp, so you may still see updates from him but of corse using the older sbp before it was rewritten, but I wouldn't count on it since I dout he cares much more than we do.I'm sorry to those I've dissapointed with this decision. I think it's been pretty obvious how little I've contributed to the rewrite in general, the last time I really worked on sbp was probably in about april of this year after which I just completely lost any hope that there was much that could ever be done with the game other than small bug fix updates. The rewrite only prolonged it's lifetime, and it's about time it died. Myself and Ivan both have bigger and better projects we have been spending most of our time on. There's my livestreams to think about, then there's bloodbath and extreme runner, both of which have much more potential and interest from testers than sbp probably ever did. Not to mention my livestreams which take up a lot of time I could be spending coding, but I'm not complaining because I enjoy those streams a lot hence why I've been doing so much lately.

I think my biggest issue with your spin off is that the engine has so much possibilities when it comes to platforming and more advanced zombie types that just aren't being used. So far all I see is insanely drawn out levels with nothing extra accept more and more zombies, and a broken food system which uses sounds from stw, and a money system which doesn't even seem to work correctly.I'd say start a lot smaller, make a small basic little game which uses your own code and then progress until you're big enough to actually code / design a game like this without all the shortcomings. The 2d engine I open sourced on the ATB forum shows off the basics of the zombie arena map system whilst pretty much leaving the rest up to you to create.

If anyone is still stuck, contact me and I'll try and get you moved out when I'm around. I just fixed an issue with the map that should hopefully stop people from getting stuck in future. I have also for the current moment removed the teleporter by the edge of the sz. I plan on avenchually adding a door there in it's place, however doors are still not fully implimented.

We now have an afk system which activates if you are idle for more than 60 seconds. We also now have a peak system, so the server logs the max players online and notifies everyone when the peak is reached.

Lmao. Up didn't have a staircase you could go up to access some other maps, but even that used different sounds, and besides the safehouse was it's own map, there was no central map for killing not counting the war maps so if you're just basing what you think up was like off of clones you're sadly missinformed.

People don't listen, apparently. As for the things that got removed, those were removed because it was the only way to keep the code usable. As to the person saying the new map is like one from up, well obviously you never played up in it's heyday. I did, and it never had a map like that. @Chris, yes, but this version has a couple extras as well, like safe zones and the like. The main thing in this update is now the game kind of has a future because now we can add things much easier, and a lot of the existing bugs have also been fixed. @dash, I'm not sure what rock you've been hiding under lately, but if you check the masonasons updates Twitter or the old sbp topic created by me, you won't have to look far to see that the code was soled, a long time ago in fact.

I already replied to your email, but anyway the long and short of it is that due to vps related issues, see the minefield topic, I was basically forced to switch back to freevar which was what I used before just to keep the site running, but that didnt quite go as planned either since I don't have my password and they aren't replying to my emails, so we're sort of stuck until I can find a decent web hosting provider. Ok guys, slight change of plan regarding the continuation of sbp.SBP will not still be updated by me, weather or not ivan chooses to carry on with it is another thing intirely. I am instead focusing my attention on a slightly different game. No, this is not what I was talking about erlier, that was another thing that will probably not be publicly released. This here thing I'm talking about is a 3d fps like thing, which I'm hoping to make into a kind of 3d SBP since I know a lot of people would want that. Looks like someone's debugging our packet keys and using the leaked source code to login to it. I might be able to stop them from logging in as Dev at least, but obviscating the key could be a hole other thing. Blame sediment.

@226, not really. If you make rtr 2d and rip out the hole watch mode when you die and the single player mode, which used to exist in rtr anyway, you'd more or less have sbp, minus the timebombs and mines of corse.@Mohamed, that one is a known bug, you'll just have to enter your info quickly. I might be able to fix it, but sbp updates are pretty low on my priority list at the moment.

Just some advice, I'd recommend getting a domain to mask that IP so if it changes for whatever reason, you can just update the domain and people won't have to change connection info. I probably won't add it to the list until this happens.

@rob, have you tryed redownloading the games? It's possible your downloads may have been corrupted somehow. If not, could you copy the exact text error? If it actually says startup failed, that's most likely a windows error, as all other errors produced by the bk3 games directly would usually output in jappaneese.

If I'm remembering this correctly, you need to have a serton amount of lemmon in your inventory. After that, you can go to the stage 7 shop. When you leave, the guy should offer you the boomerang in exchange for the lemmon. At least that's how I think that works.

Exactly. Sure if I wanted to I could easily stop sbp servers from running in future, but that'd be against my own nature to do that. I still like the game, and I probably won't stop playing it for a while. There's just only so much that can be done with the code as it is. I've probably already done more than mason thought possible when he was working on the game, but without a huge re write doing much more would be futile.

Hi all.I know it's been a while since i've given an update, and that's mainly because i've had other things going on, other games, etc. Not to mention I'm in the middle of my GCSE's, I think they're finals to you americans. Anyway, given everything I just haven't really had the time or the will power to do much with sbp. As so many people have already said, there's just really not much that can be done at this point. The code is just, not nice, and there's just not much more I can do with it. People have been talking about adding vehicles, but the chances of that happening are unlikely given how everything is currently in the client. It'd take a big re write to fix half the issues, and I'm just not sure if it's worth the effert at the moment. Right now I have something much better, or rather, an update to something much better in the works that I might be unvailing in a few months. Given all that, you can pretty much consider this game abandoneware until ferver notice. Once my exams are over and I have more time on my hands, i'll do a little patch fixing the major bugs, and then that'll be it. Who knows, I may even take the offline code and make an offline game with it, since as mason rightly said, this game just was never meant to be online.To all you who currently play sbp, thanks for all the support you've given during it's development, and as I said, the thing i'm talking about will I hope replace sbp nicely, that is, provided people don't start drama or anything because of it's existance, which could happen, but more on that later.Thanks for reading.

I agree with whoever said you should probably get some coins when completing games, i'd say 50 for normal and 100 for extreme. Or if that's too much, 25 for normal and 50 for extreme. Gives playing the actual game a little more value as well.

I'm one of the people who thinks some of the power up sounds should probably be changed. Some of them just have so many garbled effects and other crap it's really hard to hear what they are, specially in game. The power up thing is also something i've been mentioning for the past few weeks, although I guess this scoreboard system kind of fixes that a little. Still it's annoying how so many of them tend to have more neggative effects.Btw, @ironcross, I'm curious why you wouldn't play something just because it's coded in bgt? Bgt it's self isn't a bad language, granted i'm switching to python myself but still, it's a pretty stupid reason not to play a game. The lack of diaganal steps is annoying though, and more of a bgt issue than anything, one of the cool things about python and pygame is that stuff like that is sort of just built in.

Ok so first, responding to omer's post.I do sort of agree, but what you're doing isn't much better than what jonnyboy is doing. FYI, i'm 15, and you know better than anyone that I for one can create my own crap being in my beta folder and all. That aside though, if the number 2005 has anything to do with this guy's age, he may be even younger than that.@jimmy, weather you meant to or not, you basically contridicted yourself by playing that guy's clone. You also would have most likely asked for admin in order to get it. As carter already said, alireza most likely just went on there to troll, but I for one don't believe you when you said you just went on there to see what changes he made. If you were truely against cloning, it wouldn't matter what he did, all that would matter is that at the end of the day, he used stolen code, which he did. Also, you don't need admin powers to see changes he might or might not have made, if they're not obvious to normal players, then they don't really matter because people can't miss what they don't see.

Ah, then I stand corrected. @536, I was talking about nvg. Although the python wrapper for game engine could also be useful. My main issue with python so far has been classes and for loops, they just make no sence to me. I might try and make a game in python just for the heck of it, probably use game engine for map handling and things. Oh, and another issue, and quite a big one, is libs. It's just so confusing, which one to use, what works better, etc. Plus there's window creation and keyboard handling, so far i've never been able to make anything in python that isn't completely command line based.

I wouldn't have done that if I were you, brouzers at least should always redirect to https even if http is still a thing because that's just how most of them work. And i'm not just talking about stuff like the updater, you've got ch, th, both of those are payed games. Ok so ch is optional but still, now people who did actually give you the 5 dollars can't use there keys. I was actually thinking about giving th a try, I might but still, but if licence keys are useless i'm just glad I didn't buy a key last night or something like I was thinking of doing.And... Ok i'll bite.So I understand why you might want to move away from bgt because of the anti virus issue, but is that seriously a reason to remove half of them from your site and then block the others that have net functions from connecting? And i'm not just talking about the ones you removed yesterday either.All that said, I am glad you've moved to a programming language you seemingly can use a lot better, you have access to an engine that already probably puts you a step ahead of the rest of us, I just hope it pays off and you make better games because of it in the long run. Personally I like bgt, it's what i like and what i'm used to, and unless i'm given a really good reason to switch, like if a windows update stops bgt games from running or something, i'll probably stick with it. I never really liked the look of python, c++ just sort of already provided what I needed but made the regular old process about 10 times more complicated, etc etc.

You know, i’ve been thinking about adding a item mine which you can place to get enemies. They won’t effect you, but then again the traps kind of already do that. I think a mine remover could work though.
