Wow, how am I just seeing this now?Always wondered if there was a continuous OCR out there, now I know there is.Next logical step would somehow program it to be able to tell if you're navigating through a menu of sorts, and try to tell you what ext you're highlighting. I can't imagine that's very easy though, still, what we have so far is pretty awesome.BTW your website link is triggering my malwarebytes, I don't understand why that keeps happening

Any vinyl guys in here ever find a way to mark their tracking weight?

2020-11-08 Thread AudioGames . net ForumOff-topic room : NevEd via Audiogames-reflector

Any vinyl guys in here ever find a way to mark their tracking weight?

Bit of a random one. I just sold my old TT to a family member to get a more real deal one, the reloop 7000 mk2, got the Ortofon cart with it, planning on getting another with a couple digital decks, I like collecting records and DJing basically. Idk if anyone has ever set up one of these, but with some of these new carts, you don't even have to worry about cartridge alinement problems, you just screw it on and go, its so ridiculously easy, and it sounds pretty damn good. But I was just curious, while trying to get the tracking weight properly set, I wondered if any VI people, older or younger, ever did something like marking the positions of the numbers on the counterweight weight so you can screw it onto the tonearm properly, with zero facing upwards, making it easy to set the dial to the correct tracking force. Or if there's weights that you can buy that have a more tactile marking, though I'm not sure if aftermarket counterweights are a thing on turntables, who the hell ever had to replace a counterweight?I also tried looking for a small talking scale that maybe I could use to measure actual tracking force from the needle, like some of these digital scales with LCDs, but didn't have much luck.Apologies for the ramble, I am really fucking tired.PEACE!

@9 I don't think its totally a double standard. I mean I get what you're saying and I'm not on either extreme side of the fence for the record. But there is difference between an audio described video and a piece of hardware that 99% of its audience will be sighted people who its primarily designed for.

Re: New Maschine leaked, Maschine +, standalone

@7 You have some good points here.I'm sure someone's gonna come and call you a negative nancy, good for them. I mean, I'm not expected them to just hand things to me so I can get shit done. I made a whole album on Audacity. No fucking MIDI, cut and paste everything where I wanted it, and the EQ plugin I could use in real time crashed 85% of the time. But I still did it because at the time it was the only way for me.I was just thinking of this today, and I'm sure this might make some people angry, but the real issue is the blindness itself. I wish people would put their heads together to try and tackle that, and they are, but I think the medical industry cares about us much less than NI does. Because when it comes to accessibility its impossible, impossible, to create a solution that would target and work for absolutely everyone on this entire planet. I'm not saying accessibility shouldn't exist, though. I mean I use a screen reader and I really should be getting around to donating to NVDA. But its frustrating when you just want to do something other people have no problem doing, and you can't, because of shit like this.Sorry if I'm not very articulate here, I'm kind of hungry and am rushing this post. lol

Pro tools isn't that accessible on Windows either and as far as I'm aware is 100% usable on Mac. NI stuff seems to be the same. It would probably be easier to implement accessibility into a static piece of kit.

If this thing had TTS feedback, I would get it in a heartbeat.Did some googling and didn't seem to find anything related to accessibility but this is a brand new, fresh hot piece of gear, more is bound to come out eventually.

Re: Advice from any of you guys that use mixers

Going to resurrect this thread, sorry in advance.I'm starting to realize if I want to get a mixer, audio interface and control surface in one box, I'm going to be going into full blown pro studio gear with prices to match. I'm not going to be able to get what I want at an affordable price and I'm going to have to deal with it. With that being said, the MTK looks badass. Mainly directed at Hijacker but if anyone else can chime in that'd be appreciated as well, is there software that controls the mixer? Has anyone used it for live streaming? I've heard cases of people using a 2i2 dedicated for live streaming and they group outs that together to send to the 2i2. I also am starting to realize that a mixer with the MTK's features would be way better for livestreaming because from what I understand each of the inputs can be set as separate devices in windows. So you can send different apps to each of them. This is amazing, it allows me to control the volume in real time. I'm just having a little bit of a hard time grasping how you would do this with the hardware itself, I understand the concept. I'm a bit new to physical mixers and using them at this level, I understand busing and all that, but can what I'm talking about above be done accessibly? Also I hear that you can't solo stuff when plugged into the headphone out, because the headphone out only hear's the master channel, is that true? That would be a bit odd.As for midi, I can just get a separate hub for that, no big deal.

Re: gararge band on a vm?

I always felt like synth stuff could be more taxing especially when you start piling effects on top of it.I've gotten good enough with Reaper to the point where I can do some complex routing and effects processing.I'm sure as the person above me said orchestra libraries, guitars, etc, will bog you down in regards to RAM but I'm sure CPU could be a bottleneck also. This is one of the reasons, though not the most substantial one, why I would like to get external rompler modules and sequence them via MIDI. Less work on the computer because they're not software plugins, no DRM or inaccessibility hickups if I get stuff with all buttons and switches, and a personal preference to me a more hands on workflow. Yeah I'll need a lot of i/o, a problem I'm still trying to solve, but if it really comes down to it I can just get a large mixer and patch stuff in. I just wish I had more space.

@22 Yeah I didn't mean that necessarily, I do know that with the AI's in these next gen games they're going to be more reliant on the CPU thus a 4790k is probably near the end of its viable use as a CPU for gaming, I really doubt a 3080TI won't be bottlenecked by that particular chip.In regards to overclocking, I wouldn't say I'll go completely balls to the wall, but a decent amount, enough to better performance. People have told me that they had their CPUs in turbo mode for years, that's ok to me. If my computer that's overclocked  and gets heavy usage for 3/4 years, I'll be content with that. What's probably worse is overclocking with a stock cooler. Constant throttling can't be good for the lifespan of anything.

Re: gararge band on a vm?

@19 There's basically no way for me to monitor with effects with direct monitoring via the interface. I don't have a super pro analogue studio with outboard gear to play around with to process incoming signals for whatever I have plugged in. Its nice to be able to plug the stereo outs of my MPC into the interface and gnarl up the sound live before anything gets tracked in. I don't get exactly zero latency but what I do get isn't significant enough to be a problem. If I'm going to go crazy with pitch shifters for some reason I'll set the buffer size higher.Besides this thing can be overclocked, the per core clock speed impacts how fast your CPU processes the incoming audio. I don't know if I want to do it on my budget board (MSI B450M, but it can be done so I'm not really worried.I do notice that even on my laptop with the internal sound card, and a much higher buffer size as a result, the samplomatic 5000 plugin is a bit CPU heavy and too many of them can cause crackling. Or if you play a higher note, move the pitch wheel back and forth. It crackles. Probably because I'm using it as kind of like a ghetto drum machine so there's 8 or 9 instances of it sometimes per project. I just set the resampling engine to lowest and it works just fine. This is Hip-Hop anyway, dusty isn't the end of the world.

Yeah I mean there probably is some differences between games and DAWs, games seem to be more GPU heavy than CPU these days people still rock 4790ks and they're doing alright.I don't really care about the "for gaming" phrasing either. Save for a server, a beastly cpu with a decent high clockspeed, at least not enough to hinder performance like it may in servers, paired with a 3080TI, you're gonna be maxing out pretty much everything, on top of having a crunch monster that basically chews through everything else, especially if you o/c.

Re: gararge band on a vm?

@15 I'm sure you're cutting corners that you may not even know about. On my desktop , custom built I paid just under a thousand for with a Ryzen 2700 and 16 GB RAM, with my 18i8 I can set my buffer sizes really low and get damn near zero latency when monitoring using Reaper. I bet your computer can't do that. It is a nice feature to have since you can basically process vocals live. High per core clockspeeds makes this better though and I'm sure when I have the guap I'll get an overclocked intel based computer.I've seen people overclock the 8700k to 5.0 ghz. That's nuts!

Re: gararge band on a vm?

I actually installed Mac OS Mojave on a VM yesterday, I recently switched over to windows and sold my MBP. I still have my time machine backups so its nice to be able to access them now, just in case.I already had an ISO I created from the installer on the MAC so the software is all legal. The lag isn't horrible but you do need beefy hardware for VMs in general. My laptop has 32 gb of RAM, my desktop has 16 and I just built the damn thing, and my laptop has an intel CPU which makes the VM creation easier. It is possible on AMD CPUs but you have to mod the colonel to get it started.I'm probably going to install garage band and record samples of my favorite software instruments to use in Reaper, or where ever I wish.

What PC is this? A prebuilt?I think the degree of how many components may have been fried, if at all, depends on the PSU that's in the computer.Me, I spent over a hundred dollars on a SeaSonic PSU, power supplies are the area of PCs you do not, and I mean do NOT, cheap out on.

Have a feeling that's not going to play now. 50 Cent's new book, which is really good BTW, anyone could learn something from it, I bought on CD. $26 and that shit comes on 7 disks. They're not ID tagged though unfortunately so I just have a bunch of folders of flac files.Oh yeah I'm a pretty big Hip-Hop head. lol

Which could be fun but roomates generally annoy the piss out of me, not because its their fault as much as its just me not being a big fan of sharing a house with a person I barely know.I don't even know where I would live at the current moment the first thing I'm worried about rite now is being stable financially enough to do that when I want to.

Trying to get on my feet independently

So I would like to ask some of the older, experienced people here who have been through the bullshit for some wisdom. I still live in my parents home with my grandfather, I'm 20 years old at the moment. Since 18, due to my lack of wanting to deal with the wonderful world of shitty stressful grind jobs I have been living off SSI. Long story short, monotony of being here, and life in general, is starting to get to me. Nevermind this whole covid mess. I'm fucking bored, to be blunt. I'm also getting sick of hearing from some people in my family how I should just stay put and be taken care of, like some goddamn fool that doesn't have a mind of their own. I don't know how people can feed you bullshit about how smart you are, then act like you're naive the moment you express the desire to do something that puts you out of their control, or something that they don't like because they feel the need to talk about you to everyone else, as if you're their achievement or something. Sounds like some major auto-fellatio to me.I also admittedly deal with some pretty bad social anxiety, since high school. I also have a progressive hearing loss along with my blindness and that does add variables to things. There's no getting around that though and I just have to figure out how to live with it, as long as I can anyway. So I do have some hurtles to get past.I could type out a lot more but this post would probably be a 5 page rambling mess. I just want to hear from people that may have went through similar experiences. I don't expect to be rich tomorrow, and I don't intend to step on gravel with no shoes on, so to speak. I just want to know how I could get the ball rolling, find a way to make more money than the max of $700 I'd probably get from SSI if I roomed with someone. Whether that's a so-called regular job (maybe something I haven't thought of), or some help on how I could use my music (hip-hop) or computer skills to put myself in the position to allow other opportunities to come to me.Some people, its like this just comes so easily to them. They don't even have to try. Its how I used to be when I was younger.I am also going to community college for an associate's degree in IT, it kinda covers a little bit of everything, but I hear from a lot of people inside that field that it is very experienced based, and all I've done was really intern at a help desk.I'm sure in teh long run I'll end up in a computer/IT related place of work but as much as I like working with computers the thought of working in that corporate environment for the next 40 years (if I'm even going to be around that long) sounds incredibly repetitive and boring. It'd be nice to get a bit more out of life besides the typical drad lives that people commonly lead out, and that's no swipe at anyone here. i think if I am going to go anywhere with my music I have to get past the anxiety enough to the point where I can start working with others, meet the demands of people that ask for my production services. As long as I'm in this house though, I know I'm not recording any music of my own. Always people here, and this isn't the greatest environment to freely express myself without someone crawling up my ass, and besides which, it does get loud.I have a buddy that does music also, who is going through the motions as well. his uncle kicked him out because he didn't take kindly to just doing his every bidding just because he lived with him. Lived on the streets for a while and lost everything he had, he wouldn't have been able to do much work, music or otherwise, if he wanted to. He's doing a lot better now and he's created an app and has showed it to people in the business world who know their shit and they're all super enthusiastic about investing in it. If he started making major bank off of it he offered to fly me out to where he is now, live with him, and basically work on the music thing together, among other things, I'm sure I'd end up finding employment out there to avoid mooching off of him, because he realistically doesn't owe me anything, I also don't want to bank solely on that. He is a good dude though and he's stayed cool with me through the past 5 years which was the time my first partnership with someone I did music with started and ended, and unlike that one, I never had to fight with him on getting his part in anything we did, so I think that says something. This shit is way too goddamn long and this is a public forum, so I'm just going to leave it here.

when your in disk manager, don't look in the list that immediately there. Tab once and nvda should say graphical view table, then hit left a bunch of times until your screen reader stops speaking, and arrow downwards. It'll tell you all the drives in your pc. You have to find the hdd, context menu key and create new simple volume.Sorry if you already did this, but I had trouble with htis also with my first build.

Yeah, for all intents and purposes, I'm not using a Raid array for backup, I'm using it for archival purposes. So it shouldn't be an issue. Even if it is attached to hte network, I only need one drive to back it up, say once a month, and it would be an offline drive.Only things I would backup is maybe my windows instalation in case my SSD shits the bed. Everything that's important is either on Mega, or on a separate drive inside my computer.

But a $200 laptop is probably a piece of shit potato, with few exceptions.I had a toshiba laptop that I used to do all my old recordings on, and you can actually hear fan noise in the vocals when they're soloed because they would wind up like crazy under load. It ran horrible on Windows 8.1.

Any data hoarders on here?

So as of now I store all my data on one Seagate backup plus 4 tb hub, since late 2017. Probably horrible to most of you techies here, and I understand why, if that drive goes belly up, bye bye all my data.I've been thinking about trying to archive YouTube channels and for that I'm going to need a huge amount of space, plus redundancy, because I'll also be storing the data I have currently, which is a little over 2 tb. I still live with my parents so I doubt they'd let me set up a NAS, even though its probably the best option. USB enclosures seem to not be favored for the most part when dealing with stuff like this. Its also going to be very expensive no matter how I slice it, 10 tb drives look to be at least $300.What setups do you guys use?

@31 Possibly because the earbuds aren't designed to have a flat response like monitoring headphones can. Meaning, all the frequencies across the spectrum can be heard evenly, without any washing other ones out. Earbuds can be difficult.Hearing loss in general is difficult.

Re: YouTube took away my rights to voice my opinions

@12 And this highlights how the changing of the times makes certain laws, amendments, whatever, necessary to be updated.I'm not saying YT shouldn't kick dumbasses off of their platform, but they seem to love keeping on the big jackasses that make them money, and squash little guys for doing much less severe things than their bigger and more profitable counterparts. Its not about whether they should or shouldn't be able to kick people off as much as who and why they kick people off.Yeah yeah, I know, move to another platform, blah blah. But google whether intentionally or not, has a complete monopoly on the video sharing market. You can't beat it. They have the money in the bank to support that 72 hours of video uploaded a minute to YT, and how else are little guys supposed to get their foot in when you don't have to pay to upload as much shit as you want on YouTubeAnd YT is supposed to be about that user generated content, so anything short of death threats and slander shouldn't be punished or given a reason to have someone get banned, blocked from making comments, etc. Also it would be literally impossible to have a team that sifts through all the reported comments, videos, etc, so they have a bot do it, based on trigger words. That has been just dandy, oh wait it isn't. The problem is, there are corporations in Google's pockets that pay money for their ads to be hosted on their website and app. And a lot of these advertisers believe that if their video shows up before something that may be undesirable for whatever reason, that means they're associating themselves with it, which Google and the lady in charge of YouTube does fuck all to make any better, BTW.YT's just too big, too commercialized now. The good old days are long, long gone.Sorry if I come off confrontational, this is something I'm passionate about.

Re: Interesting and unconventional uses of audio gear

@16 I have a bit of an unusual type of hearing loss, by the fact that its on a frequency by frequency basis, not overall volume loss. To be blunt, I fucking hate it. For  a while, up until maybe 2019, I used to be able for the most part ignore it and still use high quality gear to do my stuff but I lost pretty much all my high frequencies in both ears and now that I have smaller hearing aids, I wear my headphones over them. Which does help. But the problem is these things aren't designed for music. They're designed for speech because lets be real, that's the most number of people that have hearing loss will ever have to worry about. That was my beef with them from the start. They're not a natural sound. And from my experience it seems like companies could give a fuck less about us. From a hearing aid standpoint, making them work for us, which I understand is an issue and isn't easy, but you already know that once these hair cell regeneration therapies start becoming viable the pushback is going to be a motherfucker, and the cost for these treatments are going to rule out anyone but Trump's children.Ok, that's a bit of an exaggeration there, but you get my point.I just wanna hear normal again. I wanna enjoy mixing my records again, I wanna be able to sit by the TV and play video games like I used to be able to, without trouble. It blows.

Re: Interesting and unconventional uses of audio gear

This is a pretty awesome thread, actually. I love geeky shit like this.I was born in the year 2000 but I still used cassette tapes regularly. They were the easy way to mess around with stuff back then, especially for a blind person. I used to record stuff on tape all the time, then use a composite video cable that was used for cameras to transfer the audio to a VHS tape. Maybe not that unusual because now that I'm older I know that they used a version of VHS in hifi VCRs and they were the tapes used in DA88 digital audio tape recorders, these were the home studio multi track machines to get back in the day for those not in the know.I also did the pull plug out partially to get an out of phase signal. Noticed it by accident once and was like "huh, that's interesting."I basically destroyed a microphone by hooking it to the quarter inch output of my receiver back in the day. Lol. I still remember what song it was. Eminem's Medicine Ball.@Nocturnus You're a pretty interesting dude. Didn't know you were into as much stuff as I was. Living with progressive hearing loss is definitely big shitty and it sucks that I can't do stuff with my music sonically that I used to be able to do.Maybe this doesn't count either but I made a pretty good sounding album entirely using audacity. Still has some moments on it that I'm proud of.Did you guys ever see those video cameras that use cassette tapes as a recording medium? 8BitGuy did a video on one of them.I find physical hardware much more exciting than just using a computer for everything, meaning a computer with no gear whatsoever to work with it. That's just boring to me.

2020-08-08 Thread AudioGames . net ForumOff-topic room : NevEd via Audiogames-reflector

Advice from any of you guys that use mixers

So rite now I have a Focusrite Scarlet 18i8, and I can tell I'm going to be outgrowing its i/o pretty soon. Problem is for an interface with 16 channels is really expensive, or hard to find in the first place or would require me to buy another box and sync it via ADAT.People are saying get a mixer, get a mixer. But if I go for an entirely analogue mixer, meaning no digital/DAW functionality, I would have to either connect its outs to my 8 channel 18i8 anyway, or even through USB, everything would be pre fader and the faders would only control the mixer and not the DAW tracks. If I'm going to get a mixer, I would like the faders to work with the DAW, have transport controls, EQ, compression would also be cool, etc etc. There are some pretty dope digital mixers out there but the issue is they use touchscreens. Big nopey, for obvious reasons. So for anyone on here that does use this gear, what do you use?The reason why I need a lot of inputs is I'm going to be picking up a new machine at some point after selling my MPC, with 8 individual outs plus stereo outs, and I'll probably get a rompler or keyboard at some point also, plus a DJ setup, with outputs from the DJ mixer going to the console. I guess even if the console isn't pre-fader, I can use EQ from the DJ mixer to fatten up whatever sounds I'm recording into the DAW, so post fader only isn't the end of the world.Oh, and midi, MIDI is also important to me if I'm going to keep things synced, although I can probably either keep my 18i8 and use its midi ports (not likely), or buy a little USB MIDI hub.

Re: reaper descussion

Going back to post 2, I pretty much bypassed the whole width thing, and just used the JS channel mixer plugin. You can have a bit more control over the mix with it, I feel. When you throw it on a track, it goes to mono, meaning both channels are centered, and I use presets to get either the left or rite side. I work with samples so that, along with a center canceler is super useful.I wish Reaper could have tracks recording midi to overdub by default, god damn it.Its irritating when I record an 8 bar sequence and boom! Gotta do it over because i forgot to hit "\" for overdub. Also, say you want to nudge a sound forward without nudging the midi item forward, and then possibly having to trim it, there's another js plugin called time adjustment delay. Put it on a track and choose how many ms you want the sound to be delayed. I use this on 8th note high hats sometimes, gives an otherwise quantized drum sequence some bounce.Shit, I'm giving up all my secrets! N!

Re: Consider this an official I don't give a damn

@58 I'm definitely not as educated legally as you seem to be, I'm just some random prick that gets angry at things and rants about them, but legit T.O.S. or whatever they choose to call it is just literally to cover their ass. If the responsibility would be on the guardian then that would be their argument, period, no matter what it is and how you slice it. They would just go with that if any legal matter does come up if any shady shit does go down. These companies probably pay top dollar for lawyers and I wouldn't know how to topple this argument in a courtroom other than calling them shady, corporate scumbags taking advantage of people and their ignorance by giving everything confusing/spooky language.Has anyone ever went through the terms of service for Windows 10? Pretty sure there's some stuff in there that most of you wouldn't like very much.

Re: Consider this an official I don't give a damn

I also think that the idea of personal ownership of your entertainment media, movies, games, and to a lesser extent music, is starting to become obsolete and it irritates the shit out of me that I can spend good money on something and not fully be entitled to a copy of my own, or that it won't be ruined by some DRM no longer working in 30 years, or a patch server being offline, or your account magically being lost from the system, , its ridiculous. So in a way, those guys cracking games (even if they don't distribute the game's files), as well as hording full romsets of old game systems containing games from companies that are way more than long gone, they're doing a better job of preserving history than these big companies are because they're too worried about red tape and shit that they set up to protect them when these were products in walmart in the 80s and 90s.

Re: Consider this an official I don't give a damn

You have a point, I do largely agree. I also think that there is differences between mediums.I'm not sure if you're quite aware of how a pain in the ass copyright is when you deal with MPAA media, but they literally go to sleep clenching their sphincter muscles. People that buy a legitimate copy of a movie on a UHD Blu-Ray have to have very specific hardware that isn't a dedicated Blu-ray player to even watch the fucking thing. Let alone rip one to put on all your devices, or store on your own personal plex server. I've heard instances of people buying the blu-ray and torrenting a digital copy because ripping them would be more of a pain in the ass. So even without the hole descriptive audio thing a lot of people out there have issues with MPAA and their crap.I'm not saying its necessarily cool either that blind people have to download an "illegal" copy of their movie to have audio descriptions or that they should be allowed to just because, but I understand why some do it. I used to illegally download a lot of music growing up because I was broke and really developing taste at a super rapid pace that my parents would've looked at me crazy for. Some of that music was also very underground or out of print, or not available digitally. Now that I have money I buy my music, I do wish there was more easier ways to get lossless audio other than buying a CD, but that's besides the point. When it comes to movies though it strictly comes down to the publisher not offering, or being willing to offer, descriptive audio. So this is why people resort to these places that provide it. Which is a legitimate reason, in my opinion, whether you buy a legal copy or not to counteract your mp3 version or whatever. But I think we could do away with this by not necessarily taking our pitchforks against the people who do this, but rather advocating for audio descriptions to be added, thus making these websites irrelevant. Boom, we got rid of the problem by attacking its roots. As a sidenote I think the MPAA is stuck in the 80s/90s of sorts because most of their revenue comes from Hollywood and movie making isn't as accessible to everyone, compared to music. Musically everything is oversaturated especially online and as an artist I have no problem with people sampling me, if someone's going to download my album for free, there's still chances they may come to a show but even if they don't you can't stop them. I'd rather focus on providing quality product rather than lampooning people.

Re: Consider this an official I don't give a damn

Its pretty obvious the other thread wasn't locked because of necromancy as a whole but more so because of the topic. Which is understandable.Anyone remember that Windows Vista thread with those funny as shit posts I brought back a few months ago? I think that was definitely harmless and a few people actually did reply to my posts in that topic. Now if I were to go through off topic room and bring back posts from 2007 about getting help with Skype 3.0, yeah, that's annoying. This thread though was pretty damn unnecessary and more than a little stupid. Jayde didn't exactly rip OP a new asshole, he didn't get warned.I can't stand overzealous authority figures/mods myself but I understand their position on "piracy" and its really not gonna kill anyone to take it outside.

Re: For those who use audacity

sadly this isn't as simple as adding a sidechain like in reaper, what I used to do is just use the normalizer plugin, select the amount of time the voiceover is, and lower it by 12 db or so, depends on the music really.

Didn't do wrong in my book.In my opinion, only mods should have that power anyway, from the start.I'm glad he did it the way he did, because he was able to figure out, 1, how the delete thread feature may be used, and 2, how often its really used, and its kinda funny that Brad of all people who kept trying to delete his threads because he himself wanted to leave is the one making a stink about it.This is the internet. If you're not 100% sure of what you're posting, don't do it. And if you do something stupid in the heat of the moment, or because of a misunderstanding, own up to it, so there's no reason to delete anything.

Re: Question about reaper

Anyone on here actually using control surfaces? Like the fader port?Has anyone managed to figure out how to do presets where you can essentially control not only the main mixer, but instrument plugin parameters with the buttons and faders?I could probably do this in my keylab mk2 but it has a main system that isn't very accessible.Really would be cool to map my keyboard to do beats without putting my hands on the qwerty keyboard, probably impossible though.

Re: For those who care; I'm back.

Nobody on here really knows me on a personal level and when I am done reading or communicating on here, I just go.I registered this account to ask a question in a thread about virtual machines. Didn't use it for over a whole year until I made my GPD Win 2 review thread. There was no reason to post this thread, imo, it just serves to stroke your own ego and puff your chest out. There's a whole a small number of people that are really *important* here, and I'm putting myself in the unimportatn category, people here important to me are the ones that just do more than ask questions and respond to posts, people that post their mods, projects, games, ideas, etc, are the important ones because they put the most productive energy into their posts. There's nothing wrong with not being the most vocal guy in a conversation, if I don't know you, I'm not going to be socially dominant out of respect, but if I was in a convo where I was just minding my business and people were talking about police brutality as if it wasn't real, if I was going to open up my face and argue/debate with them, when that would inevitably fall apart because lets be real, no one accepts other people's opinions anymore, I would leave. And not try to come back like "Yo guys!" After I verbally ripped apart their logic. If I did have to deal with that particular group of people again, it would just be on a common courtesy basis, no real interactions. Also glad you can't just delete threads. Deleting threads when you yourself are just trying to leave, serves no purpose other than to shut other people up and it shows you weren't really committed to leaving in the first place

I don't mean search for plugins, I mean using vo+f to jump around the plugin interface by searching for the parameter name. Say I want to adjust the attack of a sample, I just go out of the fx list, vo+f, type "attack" and I jump rite to that field. On windows its a lot of tabbing

Re: Question about reaper

Thanks for the corrections, that's just what I have been doing, didn't know that it was a shortcut specifically to SWS. Although in my case at least, SWS is pretty essential.Reaper with Osara is very accessible on the mac. Maybe there's some small differences I personally haven't found though. Aside from being able to search for parameters in plugins on the mac side while you're in the fx window, so you can kinda jump around the plugin. Don't think that's possible on Windows.
