Re: Bookworms: what are you reading/listening to now? hey there. wel. let's see which books i've read recently and which id o likei'm actually reading robert jordan's books. they are great so far, i'm on the third book of the wheel of time.before that i was reading brent week's lightbringer saga which is pretty good. the plot is good although some thigns doesn't make sence. There are 4 books out now and he's still writing so there'll be another out next yeari've also read the vinse flyn's mitch rap serie. That's about a man called mitch rap who becomes a CIA assasin and kills terrorist. there are 16 books out and although some of them are rather short it's over all a very good serie.for anyone who wants a long storry you should go and read raymond e feist's riftwar saga. that one very good and ther eare over 5 series that continues the storry over time to new characters etc. really worth looking in too since they are amazing and you got a long storry to follow. Re: an accessible method to earn a little extra income ethin, very kindly, would you please stop for a sec and think about what you're saying?Would you, as an employer want a blind bartender or someone blind standing behind your shop? it's not as easy as it seems, for once you would have tu make the customor feel as if you're listening to them and a big part of that is you having i contact with people and help them when they need it which you can't always do if something unexpected happends and you find your self doing something that you as a blind person can't do without accessibility. And most people wouldn't implement that for these kind of jobs, and especially not if you're just going to work during summer. i know i for once wouldn't want a blind person standing behind my shop, lifting hevy things or working in a factory just for the reasons that 1, you need to be able to handel unexpected situations and make sure that people doesn't cheat you and 2, it's so easy that accidents can happen when you work in afactorry or wearhouses do to you not seeing what another employer does, even if it's not intentional it can happen if something unexpected accurs. At least I as an employer wouldn't risk that not just for the security of my employes but also because of the security for the blind person who wants this job.That's how people think when it comes to these phisical jobs and that's why, at least here when you as a blind person want a job during education you wouldn't get one. Re: face id iphone x thanks, will check that out.and @orco and evryone else, actually at first the home button swiping on the new phone was a strange experience but it's really easy to get used to it. takes just an hour of using it and it feels really easy that you don't really need to move your finger much to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to the home screen. it fits good with the swipings we're used to do to arrow to an object, change pages etc so while i was not happy with the button getting removed it's not really a big deal anymore when you get used to it.worse though is that apple took out touch id for no reason what so ever. they could have included it on the power button along with face id as samsung have done.i do hope we'll see touch id returning in the future but i don't think so.better to hope that i phones all will look like i phone x as regarding the screen cuz it really feels nice with the screen going to the edges. face id iphone x
face id iphone x yo. all. so today i've got an i phone x to test although most things seems to work like before when it comes to accessibility there's one major thing and it's face ID.i've managed to sett it up and disabled atention but still when i lock the phone. then plase it in front of me while trying to unlock it it doesn't work. it vibrates and then i have to enter the code. i basicly have it near my nose so i can get a good sence of where the camera is then move it back abit. i've tried other things as wel. it opens fine for my dad but when i try my self it doesn't work when i hold it.any advice on how to maybe plase the phone in front of your face or other advice?personally i'm not happy aobut apple since face id accessibility really haven't been thought through it seems to me. Re: I'm looking for a decent laptop, any suggestions? if you want good laptops you should defenetlly look at the latitude series. they are really good and i've owned 2 so far. my current is latitude 5480, a 14inch laptop but it still kicks ass with both graphic card, a CPU at 2.8ghz eather i5 or i7, if you choos i7 you can get a higher speed i believe. 8 or 16gb ddr4 ram. the bennefits with the latitudes are that you can configure them as you want. unfortunattly i've found that some parts like keyboard starts to slowly brake but they are still very good. issue with bt sync
issue with bt sync yo all, so i'm having a problem with bt sync, whenever i try to open it i'm getting a dialog which tells me that i should select the standard sett up or the secret one, but now to the issue, i'm not able to move somewhere else even when i press the tab key and using cursers etc, it just keeps remaining on the box with standard sett up, i've used both jaws and nvda but it's the same. i've also tried to reinstall it but it didn't work. is there a way to solve this or is my bt sync version wrong?
