And jaws is still a bit strange the way it works. You can have 2 computers, with the exact same hardware/software configuration, install jaws on them both with same settings, and it'll perform completely different on each of them.

If using the classic manager, Or I think even in the win 10 one in details there should be an option in the view menu called show columns. check the box for commit size as well as the working set. that might give you a better idea.

is your middi channel set to 1? if it is set to minus 1 or zero then the wavetable does not receive the messages that tell it to change the patch number due to the design spesefications of midi. thus nothing will happen unless you select channel 1

hi. You are most likely using the microsoft gs wavetable, but even if you are not, most soundfonts take the gm list. as for windows media pleyer, that has been known to have problems with the wavetable, and cause the fadeouts you mensioned.
