The problem I have with all XP-based PEs is that they are essentially all unofficial. Depending on which builder is used you may or may not end up with a working result. This is no longer the case for Win Vista or up. Now I appreciate that

You can build a WinPE with Winbuilder ahd XP as source.The project is MultiPE.In my experience, Windows XP is better for small WinPE environments than building from Windows 7-8.Send me a PM or write in this thread if you want to know

With windows 7, this is quite easy to do. You can just install the operating system from the windows vista desktop, or another version of 7. With xp though, you cant do this, as the installer is not compatable with newer versions of

I gave up on TWPE because the support for audio devices is very limited (most USB stuff simply wont work, EG). Sure, its a nice thought, and if it works for you, great, but Id prefer something more … mainstream, that is actually guaranteed
