Re: Best way to record a play-through

yes that is true, but you will need an internet connection. I don't know how mutch latency you will get by duing this, if you get a capture card I can help you set it up in OBS. The elgato hd60s should be what you need in that case

Re: Best way to record a play-through

Thanks for the tip, Gamulation. Unfortunately, I only have an USB mike, plus I'm not in the US, so TTS on the PS 4 is out of the question for me. I'll either have to use sighted assistance to set up RemotePlay on the console itself and record this way, or just get a capture card with an accessible interface (at least using NVDA's OCR), because I do want to have the visuals included as well, and I suspect that actually moving the video from the console's internal storage to an USB drive can't be done via the RemotePlay app.I'm really wondering why the native Windows recording feature shouldn't work, though. As long as it treats RemotePlay as a game and does not refuse to capture that, I do believe the video should get recorded fine. I was just curious if anyone had personal experience doing this and possibly some useful tips before I try it myself. I like that there seems to be some customizability in the game bar in terms of whether you want to have some basic overlays included in the recording or not, and especially balancing or possibly muting the various sound sources present in the system, which I really like as it will allow me to simply mute NVDA in the recording altogether.Lukas

Re: Best way to record a play-through

if you have a 3,5 mm microphone you can plug it in to the head phone jack of your ps4 controler,a headset microphone works as well, then press the share button and start a recording, you will need a usb drive to transfer your video to the pc. I myself use a capture card, and that is way esier and more convinient for me. OBS is the best recording app in my opinion.

Best way to record a play-through

Best way to record a play-through

Hi all, this question is aimed especially at experienced mainstream gamers like Liam, Brandon, Stirlock or SightlessKombat. Thanks a lot in advance for any replies.I am preparing a workshop about blind accessibility in The Last of Us 2 which is actually going to be hosted at a university in my country if all goes well, which I find highly amusing but cool. :-) We would rent a couple consoles and allow the participants to actually try the game out in practice. However, I would like to prepare several videos at first with recordings directly from the game and my commentary to explain things. I don't want to link to other works of this kind, like yours, as I need materials in Czech. I've never done this before with a console game, though.I figured the best (most accessible and simple) way to do this would be to set up the RemotePlay app for the PS 4 and record from there using the Windows Game Bar feature. I looked at that for a while and it seems to be pretty OK.What I would like to ask is if it's going to work like this, or If I'd need a capture card to connect the console directly to the computer, or if there is just a better proven alternative. I have no previous experience with streaming or editing videos as a blind person and I feel learning to do this in the limited time I have just to record a couple videos from the game would be overkill for my needs at the time.Essentially, I'm just asking to know if this would work and produce good results or if I'm being a fool and approaching this from the totally wrong direction.Once again, thanks a lot in advance.Best regards,Lukas
