Re: How to control my Android phone using the keyboard of my laptop

@4:Checking it out right now. My laptop has bluetooth, so I am hoping it works.@6:I do own an OTG connector, but didn't I say that the keyboard in question belonged to a laptop. How do you expect me to connect a laptop keyboard to a phone using OTG. And yes, I have a desktop USB keyboard as well, and I have used the phone that way, but my intention is to go very portable, and a USB keyboard isn't exactly the thing I want to carry in college or office. I also know about Talkback keyboard shortcuts, thanks for suggesting that. I am hoping that whatever magical software connects my laptop keyboard to my phone allows me to use those shortcuts.@7:It does sound like that can get the job done, but it would be better if the thing allows me to control the phone as well to some extent.

Re: How to control my Android phone using the keyboard of my laptop

If you have a keyboard that could be connected by USB you can buy an OTG with only $2 or so and connect the keyboard that way. You can also connect flash drives and all of that stuff.  Android have a lot of possibilities what I do not know why is no one looking for them. Also you may need to check out TalkBack keyboard shortcuts to be able to navigate quickly

Re: How to control my Android phone using the keyboard of my laptop

@2, curious minds wonder what app you used to control the PC from the phone? I'm aware of narwhal and use it regularly, however getting audio can be a pain in the ass, usually involving TT or discord, which inevitably has huge huge lag, so gaming or whatever is a no go.Btw, I'd be very interested to hear how your android experience has gone so far. I didn't even know you'd made the switch until I saw this topic so...You weren't wrong about commentary being kind of like the NVDA for android either, btw. Consider me a fairly recent convert, though it did take a lot of nagging from a friend to get me there.

Re: How to control my Android phone using the keyboard of my laptop

Hi,Use something called Across. It works by connecting your computer via Bluetooth to your device as a keyboard, and then letting you use your computer keyboard to send keys to your device over Bluetooth. It may or may not work on your system.http://www.acrosscenter.com/

Re: How to control my Android phone using the keyboard of my laptop

@2:I don't need my Phone's screen displayed on my laptop, just want to send keyboard commands from laptop to phone. Kind of how NVDA remote works, but in reverse fashion. And no, Naaval or whatever Android app that is, it doesn't work the way I want.

Re: How to control my Android phone using the keyboard of my laptop

Heh, I've gone the other way around, controling my computer with my droid.  I prefer that alternative to the former, but I'm sure it can be done if, for whatever reason you seriously must.  Never done this, but maybe it'll help?

How to control my Android phone using the keyboard of my laptop

As the title suggest, how do I use my laptop's keyboard to control my Android phone. I am just asking this because typing with a physical keyboard is so nice on phones. I know, bluetooth keyboard is the way to go, but as I already carry my laptop, I don't want to carry additional gadget with me for that.
