I'm sorry Chris but I do not support this project anymore do to Stars support being incompetent, pathetic and self-centered. I know this might sound harsh but it's actually the real truth. The support is not the same as it was a few years ago and I stopped playing on there site. I know this project seemed to be pretty awesome and we really hope it could go much further, however I'm not ashamed to mention that I think we will never be able to fully enjoy online poker, at least not on stars. Even the best scripter in the world would not be able to fully make Stars accessible. Stars would have to make huge changes to their software and this will never happen. The reason why I'm not playing on there is obvious, sighted players have a huge advantage over us when it comes to being able to view our stack size. Heck we can't even OCR the table to get each and every players' stack size. The amount of chips a player has is really important when it comes to sett
 ing up a good strategy. I'm sorry for disappointing you. You might be able to email Stars' Support, although I honestly doubt they will be of any help. Best of luck

I know that this thread may not be active, but I have a general question regarding Pokerstars client.In the settings window, I want to change some of the hotkeys but it doesn't work. I can select the dezired action from the drop-down list and press the key that I want but when I press the hotkey, it doesnt work and its not saved when I press OK. Hi there rocky waterscheck post 85.  That's the latest version of the scripts. He completely fixed the screen resolution issues with his script solution. There are very small issues that are not really noticable but  beside those It's very awesome.

I wonder what is causing this?Mine's a mess compared to yours. jaws says everything two times, It also lacks behind and waits for the next event and then says two events at the same time (Which is actually 4 events cause  it repeats every one two times)

Also, with the newer scripts, I noticed that Everything was not read proprely. For example, when someone folded JAWS didn't speak, but after next event, JAWS spoke the previous message in this case who folded.

OK, so I downloaded these scripts, but I am having a few problems.I never had this problem with the old scripts, but now here is what happens:Since I am from Sweden, Pokerstars redirects me to pokerstars.eu which is not a big deal since I chooce English and the hotkeys as well as Reading of the table window is working.The problem is the retreival of the cards. If I press Alt+m to get my pocket cards, I just get a "ding" sound. This also happen for all other cards.Using Windows 10 Swedish 64 bit, JAWS 17 and Hotspotclicker v240.Any thoughts on this?Many thanks for your work!

Sebastien, I made a mistake but I did not realize it after bothering djblind for a while.So, After i pasted the shortcut in my C drive, I had to actually cut the "shortcut" part from the file name, otherwise the script wouldn't recognize it.so the shortcut name was:PokerStars.log.0 - Shortcutand I renamed it to:PokerStars.log.0and the script started working.

***Major Update***Djblind just solved 95% of our problems. His script works like a charm, full credit to this guy who managed to create a hotkey to know what the flop, turn and river at the press of a hotkey!

hey guys, I was talking to a couple friends of mine, and we were just going to start playing poker on the playroom for money, since poker stars is a pain to use. chips will be worth one penny, meaning 100chips would equal a dollar and so forth. a paypal account will be made for players to deposit funds into. a document of players chip status will also be made to keep track of chips. whenever a player wants to withdraw chips, the funds will be sent to the players paypal account. there will always bee someone sitting at a game to keep track of chips, so the chip status document, will always be updated. we have thought this through and it seems like a pretty good solution, if anyone is interested or have any suggestions let me know

Hi sebI'd like to do that but I think  your scripts does not work on my computer.for e.g. If i click on the quick cache button then hit alt+p, It will go to my account window, instead of going to a game.I try finding the "Join game" button and hit it, but  Jaws won't speak anymore. I just  hear sounds.Could this be something with the screen  resolution?

I play everything. Multi table tournaments, sit and goes, cash games. I agree that having a better way to know our pocket cards would be nice, however the more you play the more you'll get used to it.

Seb, have been using your method now and for me, it works but of course I want to be able to review my cards in a much more easier way.Do you play mostly tournaments? I play sngs most of my gameplay.I now also know what possision I have at the table.But, lets see for how long we can play before they change something in the client. But i really enjoy playing for real money as well.

I seriously don't think progress will be made. Let me explain why. I posted my issues in about 3 groups in the past few weeks, I emailed my progress to a few people, so far no response. I can easily show you guys how to create a frame that make jaws speaks whenever an action is taken, that's about it. I give up about trying to find help because no one that has the knowledge of scripting seem to care. Either that or they think it's too much time consuming. I don't want to sound harsh but it's actually what's happening now. On the other hand, if rocky is capable of implementing hotkeys so the pocket cards are automatically spoken when you press them, that'll be awesome. I think that's as far as we can go though. I've been playing poker using this method for the past few months and it works well. You just need a good memory to remember the flop, turn and river. Again, I care about this so much because I'm a real money player. I know a
  lot of you love the game enough to want to try playing on Pokerstars, and that's definitely understandable.

Progress: my python script captures the pocket cards correctly.  The issue with paths is sorted for all users.  The issue with the python console is sorted, i.e. it now works unseen in the background.  The way you get the action spoken is to fiddle with the settings.  So we have all the ingredients here, apart from those Jaws frames.  These frames are dependent on the users resolution and I'm struggling to see in advance how to avoid everyone saying the frames are in the wrong place on their computer as my resolution is approx. 1000 by 1600 i.e. widescreen.  If anyone has a fix or workaround for this I would like to hear.

@Rocky Waters [[wow]] I didn't know you were so much into trying to find a solution, that's actually great that you know so much about the situation. Yes I emailed someone who knows a lot about scripting, and he is going to see if he can create scripts to capture the board cards as text and use a hotkey to repeat them accordingly. I too thought that pokerstars were not implementing the pocket cards as text because of bots, but a few months ago, when FullTilt poker was not migrated to Stars, it was possible to play on FullTilt, and guess what? They did have the pocket cards as text in the chat box. I emailed Stars and asked them if they could implement the feature, since they were already affiliated with FullTilt even before the migration. They basically shut me out by saying it was too hard to implement at the time. Come on... The feature was available with Full Tilt, and their lovely tech support say it's too hard to implement it in Stars? Anyway, for the "BIG
 GEST ONLINE POKER SITE" in the world... Let's just say that they have issues.Anyway, I gave up on trying to ask them for help. Apparently, 8 years of emailing them every month didn't help. Hopefully we can come up with something to at least make these scripts more enjoyable to play. That's why I mentioned in the first post that people that are not familiarized with poker or the ones that are unsure about all of this should definitely not give it a shot. It would be nice to chat, I only have skype though. Let's just say that knowing you were on the case really makes it better, since you've done this before.

Seb.  My previous scripts were based on a frame and certain text events triggered certain scripts to capture the last line of the scrolling text box.  Chopping up this string gave the cards, either deal or pocket etc  as variables to be placed on hot keys for other scripts to read.  The reason why none of us could play any more was due exactly to the issue you have indicated, i.e. no cards in that box.  My guess this was done to prevent bots from playing, just a guess though, there seemed no reason to otherwise prevent screen reader access.  My interest was gained by your discovery of the cards being accessible in a text file.  I have written a python file that can be launched with a Jaws script to automate your tenacious search for those pocket cards.  It seems to work, though I do have some issues with paths at the moment, the log file being dependent on the users folder.  I am also working on hiding the console window that python thr
 ows up by default.  The python executable throws back the card information to the jaws script via the clipboard.  My idea is to split up my tasks to auto launch the card capture at the deal and reading the cards as separate related scripts.  Given your detailed contribution I thought you deserved to know the path I'm on.  You mentioned some one also working on this issue?  Programming is not my background, so if anyone has any suggestions on efficiently grabbing text out of a text file and passing it to Jaws I am all ears.  It may well be that visual basic is so much better at this.  Chris, yes a frame can be put round the pot value and the contents of the frame be read back to you each time you press a hot key.  I was hoping not to go down the frames route this time, as the users screen resolution used to throw these out.  However I can't see an alternative to frames.Seb if you want to email me please feel free and if you want

To know how many chips you have simply go to the tournament lobby and search for your name there. If you want to know how much is in the pot you simply use the hotkey to bet the pot (f10) and press f4, this will show you in the box how much there is in the pot. You need to understand that there is simply no way, and I'll say it again, no way for us to use other ways of reading the pot amount, as well as knowing how many chips our opponents have. This is simply impossible for now, the only way for it to be possible would be if pokerstars completely changes the way the table layout looks like, and I don't see that happening at all. Unfortunately, no one has the power of creating scripts that would make these information available to us. Remember the everleaf network? Accessible poker, which were a few people working on jaws scripts, have been able to work on rendering minted poker and other platforms accessible to us, because the everleaf network have been cooperating with
  them. And I am not going to tell you how many emails I've sent to pokerstars begging them to help. I don't see them cooperating at all. You need to know that these scripts are not perfect. I mentioned it in the first post as well as everything else you need to know. I am waiting for someone who is looking to see if he can creat some scripts to know the board cards using hotkeys, and that is basically the only thing we can implement now, nothing else.

Pokerstars does not give you the pocket cards in the chat as text, this is why I open a file called pokerstars.log.0 to search for my cards every time they are dealt. I've emailed them so many times and they don't seem to be willing to include this for now. If you have other ideas I'd be curious to know them

I believe it's possible to make Jaws scripts to make those cards easier to read.  My goal is to put each card on a hot key for example shift1 and shift2 for your pocket cards also both on D for the deal and F for the flop etc.  I'm working on this, but a bit busy to promise a date.  Some years back I was the guy who wrote the scripts to play on Hollywood, Red Kings and White bet, and other poker sites using the same front end.  The scripts worked with Holdem, Omaha and Draw poker, - still a unique achievement I believe.  My scripts were copied, my name taken off, and I am told they were even sold.  I am thinking of putting a license key into effect.  Any thoughts welcome, on either the benefit of cards and other game info on hot keys, or on that license idea.

The cards are not spoken because you need to be in a game for them to be spoken, it has nothing to do with the fact that you are using a different version. Pokerstars doesn't put the cards in the chat box when you only observe a game, you need to be a part of that game for the cards to be written in text. Try and sit down at a play money table just to see.In the lobby, double click on quick seat, then double click on cash games. Press alt+p for play money games, ajust the buy-in and stakes, then double click on play now.

OK, so I created an account, but since I am not in the states (I am from Europe) they wanted me to play at pokerstars.eu.I set the program language to English.I entered a table just to observe game play.But unfortunatly, the cards on the table are not read by JAWS. The only things JAWS speaks is the different player actions.So, maybe it has to do with a different client. Too bad!So I am not able to play there at this time.

For sure! Pokerstars's software is fully accessible with the jaws cursor and you can select whatever game you want using the filter. Forget about help from others though. That might sound harsh, but sighted people don't seem to care about our needs. I contacted a lot of devs and they don't want to help. Luckily, someone accepted to try and create some scripts where we can use hotkeys to make jaws repeat the cards on the table, and I do think he is going to be successful, so fingers crossed.

I'm the person who created the scripts. I can't confirm if this works in windows 10, and I'm getting help by someone willing to make it easier for us to announce the board cards, I'll update you whenever that's available. However the ones on here are totally usable with some practice. I feel like there aren't a lot of people interested in this, since there are some other poker games a lot more usable than Pokerstars available, that's why I haven't followed the topic. thanksI m instal and I think work nowbut    don't find this9. Go back to settings, Table Appearance, Dealer Messages, "then double click on "Everything". Press ok. This will ensure you get the board cards as well as each players' actions spoken to you.

You have to download hotspot clicker and install it. Follow the instructions and you should be good to go. Without more information I can't help you. Have you downloaded hotspot clicker?

@sswwaaiikkee yes you have to use jaws cursor to register in tournament, plus you might not have installed hotspot clicker this is why yo ugot this error message.Good idea about the articles' room SLJ

Hello,This is going to be a long post with detailed instructions on how to actually play on pokerstars. Keep in mind that I highly suggest you to play on QuentinC's playroom if you're only looking to play for fun or you don't really want to spend time ajusting to pokerstars, because the accessibility just can't be compared and is not worth it if you don't enjoy poker like I do. It's far from perfect. I'm warning you just so you know what you're getting into. You should also be familiarized with the JAWS cursor. Here's a short demo of me playing a tournament. Keep in mind that you need to be fast with the keyboard and jaws needs to speak quite fast as well. With lots of tournaments and the opportunity to play with thousands of people. I love poker and I always wanted to play where sighted people could play. I literally sent hundreds of messages to pokerstars for the past 5 years begging for them to help. They basically told me the same thing over and over again and they never really wanted to help, so I had to find a way to play, because what we have so far in regards to accessibility playing poker with real money is definitely non-existent. So if you're like me and really love to play poker and are willing to deal with a few issues here and there, just follow the instructions below. Once again, if you only want to play and don't care about all of this, I strongly advize you not to do this. This take times and you have to get used to so many things. You also don't want to play with real money right away. You should wait to get used to the software and the steps you need to do to overcome the few issues you're going to be facing.***Important***If you live in the United States, you will only be able to play with play money, however they just started allowing people to play for real money as well, so if you live in New Jersey you're good to go. Check back with pokerstars frequently if your city and state allows online poker.What you need:Pokerstars.com if you do not live in the United States or if you live in New JerseyPokerstars.net if you live in the United States (excluding New Jersey)JAWSHotspot clickerScripts and hotspot set for pokerstarshttps://www.dropbox.com/s/ajj458o46jaa4 … r.zip?dl=01. Install pokerstars. Make sure you read the notes above to know what version you should download2. Install hotspot clicker3. Download the scripts and hotspot set for pokerstars (link above)4. Extract the zip file5. Copy and Paste the extracted files in your jaws settings: go to start, all programs, jaws, explore jaws, explore my settings and paste them there6. Open the pokerstars software and create an account. Make sure you use the jaws cursor to help you.7. After your account is created, log in to pokerstars8. You need to use the jaws cursor to navigate the software. Go to settings, gameplay, then hotkeys. You want to configure hotkeys to check/call, fold, bet/raise, set bet amount to all-in, and also if you want to bet specific amounts. For example, if you want to bet a percentage of the pot, or 3 times the blind. It's going to take you some time to configure these, but it's definitely doable. just choose an action in the box, press tab once, and press the hotkey you want for this action. I use f1 through f12, but make sure you do not use the f4 key since it's preconfigured with hotspot clicker to focus the pc cursor to the box where you can enter an amount to bet. After you're done configuring the hotkeys you need, press ok, and then agree.9. Go back to settings, Table Appearance, Dealer Messages, "then double click on "Everything". Press ok. This will ensure you get the board cards as well as each players' actions spoken to you.10. Go to folder options and make sure the option to show hidden files and folders is on.11. Go to c:\users\your name\AppData\local\pokerstars or pokerstars.net depending on the version you use12. Press the application key (the key that simulates a right mouse click) on the file called pokerstars.log.0 and send a shortcut to your desktop13. Go to your desktop and press the application key on the shortcut you just created and go to property. Press tab till you can add a shortcut key to this file and add one. I use control+alt+lPlease note that the script files will also change the way jaws say certain words for the notepad application, so make sure you use word or another program to read text.You're all set now.
