OK, so I was going through the narrator sourcecode and found a few fun comments. The comments below are Optomized for easy reading.1. Clearly this developer didn't like how you had to set an icon for a dialog.set icon for this dialog

Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
Not necessarily - Microsoft text to speech existed pre-form way back before sapi 4 version hit Windows NT. XP was always going to have a partnering speech synth as shown via inclusion of L and H's tts and speech recognition
Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
@20 oh wow so what you're saying is that TrueTalk is the predecessor to Microsoft Text To Speech engine? If so, that's cool to see what older versions of those voices sounded like.

Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
Same way L and H got bought for use in Microsoft Office 2003, only that was publicly available for quite some time. TRuetalk's lead developer was Fred Richards. IT had 9 voices, though the xp codebase only had 2, or 4 technically

Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
Many Microsoft voices, other than the simplified Chinese voice in XP and Lily in Windows 7, only supported English. Narrator only supported English. The unreleased Truetalk voices only supported English. And were quite obvioulsy
Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
Sorry for deranging the topic, Ah, w but you remember React OS? Recently I've discovered this os but I don't know about accessibility.Going back to topic, TrueTalk only supported english language?

Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
as much as I liked XP and miss the stability, wonderfully simplistic interface, and low resource utilization, I wouldn't want to go back. XP doesn't support SSDs, USB 3, newer Wi-Fi standards like 802.11N, the improved Narrator

Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
Update:I managed to compile TrueTalk into a working SAPI5 synth. I also added the Japanese LH voices to my installer for said synth.

Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
@12 Again microsoft wont ever touch windows xp, and the source isn't open, its leaked, which means the only place where you are able to distribute your custom isos without any copyright strikes/other legal stuff is via torrents/dark
Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
nice. i didnt know that. but if microsoft just fix that stuff then i think it would actualy be something people use. or windows 10 with out all the bloat ware

Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
Their actually is a 64 bit version of XP, but driver support isn't that great since many computers of the time were only 32 bit.

Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
i have herd xp is way, way less bloated. if they just made it 64 bit cause i think its not idk though, and suported all the drivers windows 10 does i will install it instad. or why not make windows 10 mini. windows 10 with out all
Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
Because driver support in xp is pretty terrible, i can't run it on bare metal but i enjoy running it in a VM just as much. If they just patched it, updated driver support, and kept is an alternative to windows 10, man i'd be pleased
Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
Yeah, xp is truely awesome. It would have been much better if microsoft them selves would rel the source code. First of all it'd be complete, and second we wouldn't need to distribute our custom isos/sources on darkweb/via torrents
Re: Share your thoughts on the xp leak+interesting finds
I hope that xp is released as an open source OS, with the same simple interface, and internet capable. It's foot-print is so tiny. I just love that damn OS to this day. In fact you can still get on-line with it now a days using
