If you want better translation, you would want to use the always updated database, and algorithm of an online server. The tts might collect your information though, or at least that seems to be what people tell me about using sky voice at least on android. That is from the tts program and not necessarily zhengdu. I don't see any delay in key press times comparing zhengdu and nvda, but things might be very different in Chinese. It reads more things in VS2019 than NVDA, Jaws, or Narrator. I still have a lot to learn about it to take advantage of the staggering array of features it offers.P.S. While it does use sapi voices, it does something which makes them so incredibly snappy it's unreal. Also, say goodbye to windows explorer lag. Disallowing virtual machines is just stupid and not perfect (not to mention that if your using hardware virtualization with a hypervisor that doesn't expose the fact that its a virtualized system your SOL if your trying to detect that). Granted, you can still detect it by, say, enumerating the PCI bus, but I significantly doubt that the developers are able to gain access to that unless they've written a windows kernel driver (which would make me really, really wary of their software if they find it necessary to go that overboard). I'm also disenchanted by having to pay just to use things like reaper. And the constant online auth system is overkill too.I appreciate the initiative that the developers are trying to do here, and I commend them for that. But just because they are only a couple people working on it doesn't give them the right to use an overkill, draconian auth system that's ridiculously rare for good reason.Also, a couple more questions I just thought of:1. The good thing is that the developers are very friendly and they respond to suggestions. I know it first hand because I am myself an ordinary user of the software. I know it from top to bottom, back and forth but I have my problems as well and I always receive the help from the developers. Its good to the point that my friend, for whom I have bought the license could not start the program and the developer was fixing her issue through Team Viewer. Most likely, the DRM's obtrusiveness isn't even their fault, they must've gone with one that was (remember Themida) and might be able to push back on some of the most obtrusive configurations, such as allowing virtual machines. Whatever they do, they need to at least allow virtual machines if it is possible within the DRM solution. As of now it's standing in the way of Mac users who wish to use the software, minus those who bootcamp of course which is being phased out with m1 macs. Firefox already has a low market share in China, and now that the Mozilla Foundation is cutting back on their funds for Firefox, firing more than half of the engineering team? That sounds like even less of an incentive to me. Those of us who don't put our eggs in one basket have been using Brave, I know I've been using it for about a year and a half already, and it gives us the benefit of a Chromium browser interface with Firefox-like privacy features and then some.@拓海: My worry with license relocation isn't necessarily the price, but the low fault tolerance that seems to exist within this DRM solution. Additionally, requiring persistent authorization seems overkill, why not a license heck every month, every week even, with the user being made aware when the screen reader will phone home. Matter of fact, what's to stop you from simply allowing a usb flash drive to act as the dongle? At this point, I'd feel more confident in that system than this persistent online one, particularly because flashh drive as dongle authorization has been proven to work. The old Software Passport/Armadilo DRM system has a mechanism for it, and Waves uses an off-the-shelf usb flash drive for plugin licenses. Hell, you could even use fido2/u2f, I'm sure. Feels abit like some games want a constant server connection which is more than anoying if you have a network that likes to go down at random points of the day or generally have no internet connection in some places.2, the at least for now not really intuitive way to pay. Wireing money through western union to some random guy does feel abit shady to me, reminds me abit of those old I really urgently need money spam mails if you remember them.3: Debatable, but why does the company need my phone number and not a simple E-Mail address? I don't feel comfortable in giving out my phone number, also taking into account that it might change when you switch your phone plan eventually.BTW, what will happen with the user data if the license has been terminated and the user doesn't want a new one? how long will the data be kept, what will happen with them or when will they be deleted?Greetings Moritz. Re: Zhengdu screen reader If the screen reader starts, but then doesn't say anything, you might have downloaded the paid version. The default voice is something that I think they call skyvoice or something like that. It is made for Chinese, so hearing it read English is interesting. You can change it to a more american sounding English voice, but then it doesn't read Chinese characters. I wonder if they use 2 different tts engines or something because for the last 3 years I have tried to set one as the first voice and the other as the second, and it just says they won't match. I would think you can do this with the Chinese voices though. I am not sure if it reads steam content. It doesn't always do well in windows with changing text. It has trouble reading the status of windows updates, for instance. Nvda could do this. People say it uses very little resources though, so if it did read steam, it could be a good option for resource heavy games maybe. There is also a companion program that you can download called Zhi Duo Yin which lets you download music, check the weather, read Beijing approved news, and a few other things. I'm not sure if it works with the free version though as it always crashed last year when i had the free version.
