They do have somewhat traditional classes, (warrior, thief, magician etc), but you can’t choose a role till Level 10 and you can take on a few roles at once as long as they don’t directly conflict. There are combat elements, but they’re not mandatory. Neither is rp, though it’s encouraged., The active player base isn’t huge, but for the most part everyone’s very friendly and helpful to newbies. If you like exploring and worlds somewhat different from the MUD norm, TC might be worth checking out. I play it in spirts it seems, like I go on there and find a lot to do, get really into it, then all my missions that I know where things are are done and that's that for a while. I've tried The Gathering and it's pretty good but quite concerning that you got that odd message. Accursed Lands has quite an in-depth combat system from what I can remember but it didn't really appeal to me.Is UOSS RP-enforced?I've gone through pretty much all the muds tagged screen-reader friendly on TMC so I'm just searching for new ones now. No game or anything launched and I got a message that said I never tried to learn the game, the thing was tinder, and all I ever did was try to pick up every female character in the game.Along with the message ending with the phrase that is similar to "fudge off" Whether this is intentional or not, it suggest the game either has serious tech problems or has serious security issues right now.I have never played The Gathering before and still got that weirdness. It also auto-disconnected me when I tried to get on too when that happened. Re: any mud that's different? @7, I can only guess you haven't actually looked at the activities themselves, otherwise you would not be saying that. Yes, the number of activities in miriani and SC is lesser than that of cosmic rage, but those that do exist are all of high quolity, unlike CR where it's pretty much 69000 different activities which are all more or less the same thing with slightly different verbs. In miriani you have debris salvaging, roid hauling, atmo salvaging, archaeology, artifact hunting and of course combat missions, and those are just the ones I can think of off of the top of my head. any mud that's different? I've tried over 100 muds from tmc and some from mud stats.Most of them seem to have classes that are the same, cleric, warrior, mage etcetera, but I was wondering, have any of you encounterd a mud with different classes? I mean different systems. maybe chanting for spells instead of just practice spellname, then cast spellname without knowing how it works? runes system, may be? different stuff like that for melee and casters?
