Re: how can i see files inside booksense's update file?

well, I can't give you direct links, but I will give you a pointer you could follow. John the ripper has pluggins and patchers for zip password cracking, but you kinda need a good enough wordlist to be able to crack such a password. You see, passwords aren't directly stored in the zip file, so you have to resort to at least a dictionary based attack, raw brute force isn't gonna cut it at this point. One more thing, better hope and pray to whatever you believe in, even science is a good one, that the makers didn't enter some random gibberish as the password, because then you're scrued. Even then, the password would need to be static, I mean, be the same every time, because I DK how else would the update be unpacked universally across all devices, unless it's device tied and its dynamicity depends then on the serial number of that model, though I highly daut it.Edit: an update to tiny embedded devices and most mobile devices actually means the entire operating system be reinstalled, so you could find everything you need in an update file. Since the config and user data is stored on another partition, they won't be affected, as only the primary partition is gonna be modifyed with the update. As far as I could gather, you're not interested in the user preferences storing mechanism or anything, so the kernel and basic OS files would definitely be there, though in compiled form and no debugging symbols ship with it unless you are very, very lucky. Just in case you don't know, if a program is compiled, it most likely is translated straight down to machine code, thus the source of the program is irrecoverable for those who don't have at least a bit of the code leaked or preferably an older version of the OS open sourced, so that one can compare the unintelligible machine code with some semblance of source code. Then, debugging symbols are direct mappings between memory locations and code level constructs, like C structs, classes, strings, objects, etc. With the help of these symbols, one can make a good enough guess at where a particular program is in any moment in time and compare it to the real source code. Actually, that's what the, for example, visual studio debugger does, it can show us the execution of the program with such high level of accuracy to the source code we wrote, exactly because of those symbols. Now, because they don't really exist in an OS, you can't reliably trace the execution of a program, and know what you're looking at besides. So, if your code is both compiled and has no or next to no debugging symbols, I am going to say only one thing, good luck with whatever you want to do with that OS, you'll need it badly!

how can i see files inside booksense's update file?

hello. I was so bored and I tried to do something. so I downloaded the update file of booksense. I changed the extension to zip and tried to unzip it and the enter password screen appeared. is there anyway to look inside the update file of book sense? I heared that someone extracted the file from voice sense's update file.
