Re: question about core exiles

Or ,you could go shoot ships of a robotic race called the AI that are trying to kill everything, and once you've done that enough, buy a plot of land, put a bunch of buildings on it, then produce space drones and ground robots to fight the AI in actual battles.

Re: question about core exiles

Yes. You can either choose to use combat drones when you're going into the expance, or if you're fighting in regular space, you can choose to do combat missions for either the outlaw combat offices that are dotted around, or the gal fed combat offices. You could even be a pirate should you so wish. You can even craft your own weapons and shields, and even use missiles.

Re: question about core exiles

xenothrax, yes indeed you should really check out core exiles. It is a really cool game. I myself enjoy crafting, hauling cargo and working with extractors. I've got 5 going right now on hashan where my corporation is. Just yesterday for example, I let my starter crew man go in favor of someone that actually specialized in haulage. I'll be curious to see just how well she winds up doing. Her name is Shayna Churchill. Have a wonderful day to you all and I'm also known as karate in ce, so I'll be easy to find.

Re: question about core exiles

What you do with a set is up to you. You can start specialising at level 6 at the latest, though you'll probably develop it into one certain direction long before that. But the three main directions are these: You can put an orsa location on your set, which lets you place extractors, and as the set owner you can also place farming and mining buildings that give you constant resources every hour with, I think, no limit, apart from your energy and building slots. Or, you can put starship or starbase manufacturing centers on your set later on, which let you assemble parts of ships or starbases into fully functional ones for either yourself or other players.Sets are also just nice to have because you can get most of the popular stores on them, and if you buy stuff there you get a discount.Managing a set primarily takes credits. There are daily running costs for your buildings and staff salaries to pay, but that's really the only thing you need to have a constant supply of. From level 3 and up you need to have weapons and shields and things installed to defend against attacks, and you need the staff with the right skills to use your set weapons.

Re: question about core exiles

@7 if you want a set, you'll be waiting far longer than the tutorial missions to do it. You need to be level 25 for a start, collect the huge amount of resources you need for the set hubs, and come up with the funds to buy your set license and either buy or rent your first set of set equipment. Trust me, until that time, you're far better off just doing the tutorial missions, flying around to the different planets and getting to know where things are. Then you can look at different activities or investment opportunities and see where it takes you. CE is a longterm game though, and I guess saying "I want a set" is a good longterm goal, but there's lots to do on the way there since a set requires finances.

Re: question about core exiles

Yes, CE is one of the most accessible browser games out there. Good web nav skills and an ability to use your screen reader's various functions are a great help though, because they can really help you accelerate click heavy tasks such as mining or combat. The bsg page on CE gives tipps on that regard, such as how to be very quick when hauling (lots of spair fuel is advised).@5 Karate wouldn't have had to pay to get as far as he did. The reality is that a lot of CE store items can be either looted randomly, or you can craft them if you're willing to put in the work. Those things you can't craft can be won in events, particularly in the time from october to december because there's holiday events going on for all three months. Finally, there are a few items, such as the really big fuel storages, that you can only buy. However, there are players who will buy it for you, if you agree on a credit to real life pound exchange rate. The usual exchange rate is 8m credits per pound, or at least it was when I played.Case and point: You can just about get every single payed item without actually paying, if you're dedicated enough. CE is one of the very few games where this actually works and is encouraged by the devs, unlike some others (looking right at you, Dreamland).

Re: question about core exiles

it is absolutely fully accessible my friend, and you're going to love the heck out of it. I know I do. For example, I'm running a corporation, and I've got 5 extractors getting me different resources. Also, when my ship's fuel tank refills itself after a few days real time, I'm going to haul some more cargo. Get ready for a fun journey. And don't worry about trying to keep up with the joneses, because you can do what ever you darn well please in ce. I've even done a fair bit of crafting myself. Have a wonderful day and if you have any questions, you can feel very free to ask me. Also, if you haven't created yourself an account already, when you're setting up your account, make absolutely sure to check the box that says blind vi mode. This will turn on the blind and visually impaired setup. From then on, you're not going to have any problems. Good luck on your journey into the core exiles universe.
