I think both. On the plus side though, most decent laptops have mouse detection to stop the pad. Investigate yours first and see if you can't disable it via a shortcut first because if so, that's the better way.

I'm definitely going to bookmark that link, because disabling a touchpad can be a pain depending on the laptop in question, and this will be another useful thing to try.Ironcross, instead of uninstalling the driver
Re: quietstream and mousecat, maybe at least one person's solution?
Yep, Carter wrote just what I was about to. Input lock has a bit of a bug where it does lock the touchpad, however let's say after about a minute, the first gesture will always work, but then it remains locked. For example
Re: quietstream and mousecat, maybe at least one person's solution?
There's already both input lock and bluetooth audio that do what you're wanting. Might be a good idea to give them a look before writing another add-on.

Re: quietstream and mousecat, maybe at least one person's solution?
having a hotkey would be a plus for times when you need it, like if it disables all mouse event, that probably breaks Golden Cursor or just NVDA's normal route and click stuff. OK I'll get off my ass and test it.EDIT

@ironcross please lmk if it doesn't work for you and I can try to fix it. I may release an update soon to force it to keep rehooking if the hook gets broken. I think relying on 1 hook staying hooked is a bad idea, so right
Re: quietstream and mousecat, maybe at least one person's solution?
My second laptop I've been fighting to disable the touchpad for ages. It pisses me off. Some say Fn + F9 should do it but it doesn't. I've tried disabling it in device manager, the option isn't there, deleting it and all

Those are some strange issues. I've never experienced the audio problem before on a laptop, but I have ran into similar problems when using bluetooth. The problem was related to the headphones themselves though. As far s

Re: quietstream and mousecat, maybe at least one person's solution?
It's different for each computer model for both of those though. I tried disabling the driver and it didn't do a thing. Not sure if that function key will do that on my laptop, I think that is actually mute here.

I can disable my mousepad by pressing fn plus f6. I believe you can do it too in the device manager

quietstream and mousecat, maybe at least one person's solution?
Hello all. So I got a new system recently and it had some issues, such as the soundcard going to sleep after a few seconds of silence causing me to miss the start of a lot of speech or sounds, and it also has an annoying mouse
