Re: tips on steering in sequence storm

yes, that' s correct. You will also want to change your steering sensitivity to about 3 in settings>keyboard buttons. The way I do it is usually by the beeps. Since the creation of this topic, the process has slightly changed. The way I do it is, if you have 1 or 2 beeps, steer in the same direction you first heard the barrier come from. If you hear 4 or 5 beeps, steer in the opposite direction. Remember, when you first heard the barrier, not the current direction when the beeps go off. And if it is 3 beeps, well you have to get lucky and guess, from my experience anyway. Also, there are some barriers that you must steer in a certain direction. I always steer to the left, but i know a few barriers where I had to steer right to get it to work. i hope all of these tips help you, they have helped me.

Re: tips on steering in sequence storm

Steering assist is activated already, thanks. So see if I understood this correctly: I can only steer while using a power boost right? So as soon as I can hear a barrier, i'll have to power boost and steer into the opposite direction? Thanks.

Re: tips on steering in sequence storm

You're going to need steering assist if you want to play steer heavy levels properly. Steer away from the barriors, but remember that one quick tap of the steering key is usually enough if you're going at a reasonable speed. That'll let you get past the barriors without crashing into the wall too often, and immediately let go of the key once you're past. Once you do that, steering assist should automatically put you back in the track center.

Re: tips on steering in sequence storm

The barriers are sweeping from left to right as far as I understand. Listening to the direction the barrier is sweeping towards and steering in the opposite direction works for me. Doing that, you should be able to pass them before they have time to sweep back towards you in most situations. The pitch of the barier sound will lower in pitch once you pass it so you can release every tensed muscle in your body. Hitting the edge of the track is pretty much a garentee. You can enable steering assist, but I don't think it helps with avoiding obsticles as much as it does with steering with the track.

tips on steering in sequence storm

can someone explain what is happening visually and what is happening audibly when things like barriers and bots appear? I gotten past a lot of missions that have opsticles, but I don't know how to avoid them most of the time, especially barriers. And when I do avoid them, I crash into the edge of the track several times. Is there a formula or some measure of time I can use, or use the audio cues more to my advantage? I don't really understand how you move to the left but still crash into a barrier. If anyone has a tutorial with and without commentary of stering/object navigation I would more than grately appreciate that. Barriers piss me off.
