Good to know. Because I thought you were supposed to be able to replay the story using the touchpad button to reset it once a story's been completed. But it hasn't worked which is why I was wondering. Also, because for one of the characters, I didn't see them being connected to their sentinel, and I just expected everyone to have their gettin their sentinel as part of the story. lol

Just finished the story for two characters. But I'm curious.. is it possible to clear them without completing all possible story paths? I know some visual novel style games end diferently depending on choices made, but I'm guessing this game requires you to complete every route before clearing it? I find myself genuinely sad that both these chracter's stories are over, because I think I've found my favourites for this game. lol

Definitely not a must. There's extr information that adds to the experience, but the game is completely playable without it, and you won't miss out on the story. You will not be able to read the mystery files though.

OCR is not a must, but definitely makes the game more enjoyable to play. OCR for windows 10 is used with NVDA, don't use JAWS' OCR.

WHat is great about 13 sentinels is you can jump from one character to another and everything is just interesting a LOT so I am not feeling I need to thing that hard to make every piece of the story play together in my head. This is a question of curiocity. What are people doing to make the branching and non linear story more digestable and easy to follow, if anything? I'm taking notes every time I complete a branch for a character and trying to piece them together with what happens along with my own notes on how they intersect with other characters. Anyone else doing something else that's hopefully not as unnecessary as mine? lol Or are people just playing the stories through and trying to hold onto what you can? Non linear stories like this have always been a bit of a challenge for me.

Definitely getting further this playthrough than my first one wen the game came out. Loving all the characters, even thoughI'm not usually a fan of non linear games like this. Hope there's an easier way to piece the story together. I find myself having to take mental notes... lol. And Yuki Takamiya is a badass. I love the detective style story she has. My favourite by far.

@zkline. The Japanese text and voice dialogue refers to them as arms. So does the English, since the tab is called arms customization, and when you unlock one it asks if you want to unlock one of the armorments. I think that's a good way to distinguish the two. The game only refers to the abilities you gain every five levels, the passive ones, as skills.

I actually asked these questions on the 13 Sentinels subreddit a while back. Here is what i was told…Team Organization Menu: This lists out each of the pilots and selecting one will play a voice line from them. When you enter this screen you will begin on the deploy button so be careful not to click that. Also if you click triangle and enter the pilot's customization menu, you have the option of clicking R1/L1 to advance to the next/previous pilot's customization menu. However, this will not play a voice line. I will now go over what you can navigate through on the skill menu.Pilot's Customization Menu: There are three tabs that can be accessed in the pilot's skill menu and you will be at the tab you left off of. This will typically be at the Arms Customization tab (the most important one if you want to equip skills). To navigate through different tabs you simply click left on the D-Pad (these tabs don't loop if you keep hitting left). The tabs from left to right are labeled, Pilot Information, Sentinel Upgrade, and Arms Customization. You might notice there are four sound queues as you navigate the tabs but that is because this final tab is the inner tab of the Arms Customization menu for your equipped skills.Pilot Information: On this tab this is where you can turn on your passive skills and there is no limit on how many you can have on surprisingly. So just turn them all on. You will know if it is on if you press it and hear a high pitch sound. Turning it off plays a lower pitch. Some of these skills work in really specific scenarios, so nothing really to get bogged over. I cannot for the life of me remember if there are equipped by default when you unlock them but you get them for each pilot every five of their levels.Sentinel Upgrade: This tab lets you spend your meta chips to directly increase your stats. I honestly didn't utilize this at all in my playthrough and if I remember correctly you might not have it unlocked at first. I can describe this some more if you want.Arms Customization: The final tab. Each of these tabs are navigated vertically just like the previous ones, and the farthest right tab is your equipped skills. If you hold the down button on the d-pad you won't keep looping through the skills, so that is a good way to know which skill you are on (however if you hit the down button again or in separate successions then you will loop through your skills. Clicking X on any of your skills will move you to the right tab to allow you to choose which open spot to put it in or which skill you want to replace it with. You can unequip a skill by pressing square in the equipped skill tab. If you unequip each of your skills (which surprisingly you can) then it would probably be quicker to know which skills you plan to use. If you have not unlocked a skill yet then pressing X would ask you to confirm if you would like to spend the meta-chips to unlock it (yes is on the left and no is on the right). Pressing Triangle on an unlocked skill will allow you to enhance it (this will also ask you to confirm it just like unlocking a skill).I hope this helps!!

Anyone got an idea of how the sentinel customization menu works? When I select a slipp to equip, I press x and it jumps me to the 4th tab to select a slot. Pressing x on the slot I select brings me back to the skills list. But how do you then unequip skills? Pressing square on the slot doesn't always seem to work, but occasionally does. Also, when selecting the option to enhance a particular weapon, does the cursor default to no? This menu doesn't wrap, so I'm only assuming, because OCR doesn't give any clues. I notice pressing x on a skill slot seems to do something, but don't know what it is. Tips? Thanks!

No. I figured that out on my own, which I'll atmid took extremely long time.I pushed the stick upwards for like 30 seconds to make sure I was at the top, and then I started to count the presses until I heard a target click. Then I did the same with the bottom part of the target screen, and afterwards the left and right sides. The cursor moves slowly which is kind of difficult to describe. But because of the slow movement, you might miss the target.

Hi Assault_freak.I use the following strategies:1. Move the cursor in coordinates like it's described in the guide.2. If that won't work, you can try with a different weapon, which might give you a longer range.3. If that won't work either, you can, depending on where the other sentinels are placed, choose an other sentinel by using the left or right arrow keys for that turn.4. If that fails as well, then I usually choose "Defend," and then the enemy will come to the sentinel at some point. But the sentinel will properly be damaged.

It's not so bad. I was just wondering if anyone had figured out tricks to it. The good thing is that kaiju will always make their way towards the terminal, so if you don't move from your starting position, all you have to do is wait. I use times like those to fortify my defenses and charge EP. Destruction is still my favourite part of the game, even with this.

It's not bad enough for me not to care about it or be anoyed. I was just curious. But yes, it's a bit of a chore to hunt them down. Fortunately, they will always come to you if you don't move, so it becomes more a matter of waiting than anything else. And it's a good excuse to always keep sentinels in defense mode and charging EP.

45,This is the problem with the game in my experience. Some of the weapons you have access to are very short-ranged, but we have no obvious way to figure out where the kaiju are. They are obviously still on the map, but hunting them down becomes an exercise in tedium.I've experienced this many times and it's one of the reasons I don't care for destruction mode.

I just started a fresh playthrough, because I don't want to jump back in in the middle of things as the plot is so complicated. What are peoples' solutions for targetting? Sometimes enemies just don't show up on anyone's radar, and I'm wondering if it's because I don't understand the targetting cursor movement and how it works? Moving sentinels to different locations doesn't help either. Wondering if anyone has a trick I don't know about yet. Good example is in the prologue battle with Amiguchi, Goto and Takamiya, wave 6. After a while, kaiju just seem to stop showing up. This is after the first wave of enemies is taken care of.

No. I used OCR... go up to the very top of the menu, and it's written there clear as day. lol IF tht doesn't work, go to the very bottom instead. I notice in some menus for games OCR tends to pick up the option below where your cursor is. If nothing else, press the touchpad to delete a save slot, and it will confirm with you whether you want to delete the data in that slot, and it should tell you when you have autosave highlighted.

Only one correction. repair does not make you choose which part to repair. Repairs are automatic.When you press repair, you have to guide the sentinel to a safe location. So when you press x on repair, you are brought to the standard movement screen. There's no selection of what to repair. Also, as far as I know, defense mode doesn't restor power. I might be wrong about that, though.

Hi all.I have worked on the guide most of the day, 11 hours none stop, and I'm quite proud of the result.I have added the following:1. The Prolog. Yes, I have played the whole ProLog again, copied all the tutorial text into the guide, and explained as much as possible without spoiling anything of the story.I'm not sure if I can make that section better. I have tried to separate the text from the game screen from my own explanations by adding the line "Game screen" before some of the text sections. I hope it makes sense, especially for those who haven't played or completed the ProLog before.I could add all the times you have to press X and also when you have to explore to get the next tutorial screen, but I'm not sure if it'll be too much or not. Feedback on that would be greatly appreciated.But now, you can complete the whole ProLog section without the need of OCR at all, which was one of my biggest goal with the guide.2. Added some more pause menus.3. Added the battle section with explanations which hopefully makes sense. Comments on that section is also very much welcome. Also if there is something which I've got wrong, misunderstood, or if you just have other ways of doing it etc. I mean, my way of playing the game is not the only way to do it. 4. Story mode.Here, I've tried my best to explain how the story mode is played, and explained the controls as well. I'll add the Square control later, since I need to figure out what exactly it shows on the screen. I need sighted help for this.5. Recorded sounds.I have recorded the whole playthrough of the ProLog, because I need some of the sounds in the sounds reference section. The playthrough is not good enough to be published anywhere without being edited. I skipped a lot of dialog and other stuff, since the ideer was not to release it anywhere. Just in case anyone ask for it. However, if someone would like a playthrough of the ProLog without any comments but only the sound from the Playstation, then I might replay it again in the future.So yeah, a lot of work as been done on the guide today. If just one person find it useful, then it's all worth it.I hope the guide will make more people able to play the game, when they can read how great and playable it is.Again, if you have any comments, good or bad, suggestions or whatever, then I would love to hear from you.Now, it is really time to get some sleep.

I'm currently working on other things on the guide, which have a higher priority.Yes, you can do that in the earlier battles, but later it'll be risky, because you can't tell if the pilot is in danger.

Repair is automatic. All you have to do is make sure the pilot isn't in danger which is hard to do, but I've used it at least in the earlier battles with no problems. Taken from a guide on the game.By selecting this command, your pilot will dismount the sentinel so it can replenish its HP. The sentinel can’t be summoned again until the repair time is over. While the pilot is waiting for the sentinel to get repaired, he/she’ll be extremely vulnerable (and can be killed instantly) so it’s recommended to use this command only in a safe location. After the repair time is over, the pilot needs to summon the sentinel again to return to action. If ever the Sentinel’s HP drops to 0 in the heat of battle, the pilot will be automatically ejected and the sentinel will enter repair mode. This method will take longer than deliberately repairing your sentinel so it’s recommended to take all precautions so you won’t find yourself in danger.

I haven't got the healing skill yet, but it heals all pilotes as far as I've been told.So, how do you exactly choose the spot you wanna repair, and figure out what spot which needs to be repaired? Maybe I get that wrong, but as far as I understand how the repair works, you choose the spot you wish to repair. Choosing the spot is not accessible because of:1. There are no clicks when moving the stick to choose the spot.2. You don't get told what has been damaged and what needs to repaired.Please correct me if I'm wrong. I would like to learn more on how the repair works.

I haven't gotten to any of those tougher battles yet, but so far, I can move a unit away and set it to repair, and when it tells me it's in threat range then I can move it again. Also, I don't think that healing skill is universal is it? It depends on the pilot, I thought.

PS remote lets your pc connect to the console via wifi and your playstation account. So the game will be on ps4, but you wil be streaming it to your computer.

I'm curious about this part in the guide...The repair screen works like the Move screen. I won't recommend to use the repair feature, since there are other workarounds, which will be explained in the battle section of the guide.Why not? The repair screen is vital for recharging power so you can use your more powerful skills. If not repair, what is the other workaround? All you do is choose where to move your character so as to put them out of the way so they can repair themselves.

Hi all.I have just updated the guide with the following:1. Changed the main menu to title menu, containing New game and Load game.2. Added the main menu.I need to check up on the battle menu where you can replay the battle tutorials, and press down to continue the next waves of battles. If anyone have any information on that menu, it would be really helpful.3. Added the Pause menu for the main menu. I'll add the pause menu for the game modes later on, since they are a bit different. Please correct me if I'm wrong regarding to that. If you have the menus for the different game modes, that'll be helpful as well.4. Added the Options menu. I'm really surprised that I was able to get all that information, just by using OCR.That was what I had time to do for the guide today. Hi.There is no demo version as far as I know.There is indeed no TTS in the game. If the menus and tutorials were read out loud, then I wouldn't take the time to write a guide. Most things, accept the menus are voiced in the game.

There is no tts in the game. But many things are read aloud by the characters. Not everything, though.I don't know if there's a demo or not. I never tried looking... never hurts to do some searching.

I might call that the title screen menu.@smoothgunner: The game has got up to 60 dollars again after a great price during Black Friday. Here in Denmark, games are going cheep again for January sales, but I don't know if you also have those discounts in the US.The game is really worth the price, also without a discount. Especially when I get more time to work on my guide for the game.

Quick comment on the guide.. the main menu is the menu you unlock after you complete the prologue... lol. The one with new game and load game isn't it, I believe. But since the game doesn't actually call them anything specific, you can label them however you like.
