Moderation.Ok, this thread is now closed as there isn't really a productive direction in which to take it.Staticmaster: again, you only received one warning, so as long as you don't break any rules again you're totally fine after 90 days.

JayJay, you should go back and have a gander at the reason why Simter was put on watch in the first place. He was doing precisely the same sort of thing he did to get this warning, and the watch was essentially to say "this behaviour has to stop

Well, I can get that, but I still don't think he deserved a warn in that situation. There isn't anything in the rules that says commenting on a mod post, no matter how shit stirry will result in warns. If that's the case, why didn't you warn stirlock

Simter definitly deserved that warning and the consequenting ban following it.He tryed starting fires basically everywhere he went without listening to reason. If it would have been me, he could have been banned months ago.Greetings Moritz.

Re: mac virtual machine with voiceover
Ok soI'm not saying Simter was right. But I definitley think a 1 year ban for an argument which included no insults, no personal attacks etc is not justified.Simter may have flawed opinions, but why not just ignore him? was a ban really required
Re: mac virtual machine with voiceover
Please remember that Simter was already on watch for plenty of shit-disturbing before now. Had this been a singular occurrence, he probably gets a warning at the absolute worst. But he was clearly trying to start trouble. No, a bad-faith argument

Re: mac virtual machine with voiceover
Erm, Are we seriously going to start banning people for, "Bad faith arguments"? Like, the guy wasn't rude or anything. He just voiced an opinion. Goodness. You have to be careful what you say round here cuz you might get warned or banned.
Re: mac virtual machine with voiceover
He also knew that there is no source more authoritative about the Apple license than, well, the Apple license? This pattern was easy to detect, as this is the same trick he tried when later trying to defend a clone project.

Re: mac virtual machine with voiceover
@22, well-deserved, IMO. He clearly read the first sentence in the quotation, and this topic is clearly asking for a mac VM that is *not* on apple hardware. The guy isn't illiterate or retarded. He knows precisely what that sentence means.

Re: mac virtual machine with voiceover
This was quoted in another of the four or so threads about this topic.@Simter: You act like this is news. All license agreements have a clause that states something along the lines of, all rights not expressly granted herein belong to *insert company
Re: mac virtual machine with voiceover
@16, bad faith means an intent to deceive. And yes, this is strictly illegal under Apples license agreement:J. Other Use Restrictions. The grants set forth in this License do not permit you to, and you agree not to, install, use or run the Apple
Re: mac virtual machine with voiceover
@17 that, is a bad fait argument and nothing else, to speak it in the mod teams words. Do a company now have to express every thing that is allowed? No, they don't. And also there is not such a thing as mac os licensing, that was back in 2012
Re: mac virtual machine with voiceover
@Simter: That's because you, the licensee, assume no right not expressly granted to you. A mac user does not own the mac, they have purchased a license to operate the mac. Those quotes were from the Mac OS license agreement, so how more authoritative
