This is my take; as an owner of one of the original CuBox-i from Innuos
Innuos Zen = expensive LMS player with additional (useful) facilities.
It also has the potential to expand the system with an expensive power
supply and an expensive USB cleaner.
The Zen is pretty much a closed system,
I don't think it's in the wild until later in October or early
November:p

I have experienced white noise with a set up.
I have a NorthStar Essensio dac which works faultlessly with Optical or
Co-ax inputs.
The Linux usb driver is completely pants.
I have tried it with raspberry pi, and Raspbian Desktop on a PC.
The Windows and Mac OS drivers are hardly any better

What you could try, is a different OS in the pi, either MoOde Audio or
Volumio.
Or install Raspbian Lite with Squeezelite (and LMS, if needed).

Just read the KEF speaker blurb and it seems there are two input
options, 3.5mm analogue (that's the radio taken care of), USB-limited to
24/96.
So, assuming you like the sound of the Speakers (is it possible to try a
