Be aware that that is a pretty hard signal processing operation that
will "warp" the sound data pretty drastically. As I wrote, that is
pretty much what Autotune does (but in an even more extreme way).

I tend to prefer to listen to music the way the performers and producers
intended, but on the other hand, long ago I was also part of making a
system that synthesized an extra
It is also worth noting that 432 is less than 2% lower than 440. Doing a
simple sample rate change will result in the music playing 1.8% too slow
- will anyone even notice a tempo change that small?

Update:
This afternoon I did the following:
- Xilinx reset (again)
- Changed out RCA/coax cable
- Verified that red laser light is being emitted from the Toslink cable
coming out of the CDP
- Repeated tests using another (different) CD player
Given the probability of multiple cables and
Since you seem to do some diy you may open the unit and reseat the
flatband cable going from the small digital in board to the mainboard.
Transporter (modded) -> RG142 -> Avantgarde Acoustic based 500VA
monoblocks -> Sommer SPK240 -> self-made speakers
I'm going to suggest some really silly things. I'm sure these are not
true in your case, but then again, I've seen very smart people struggle
with a problem only to find that it was caused by something very silly.
So forgive me in advance.
1. You mention RCA cables. In my case, the digital

Good suggestion... I think this has to be the next step and I may do
that tomorrow afternoon.

Try turning digital volume up higher in the Transporter using remote or
buttons on transporter. I notice that on my Transporter Digital inputs,
I typically have to turn the volume up more than normal.

The VU meters will not work they are rendered by the server so thats not
an indication of anything .

Does trasnporter actually do digital passthrough - I thought it could
only do digital in to analogue out. (

That is a far more difficult thing to do than to adjust them together.
I searched google and found that

I had the volume up to around 70% with the remote and still no sound.
And

Good point. Do you have an external DAC to connect CD player to as a
test.

Just curious, is there a way to confirm that the CD player is sending a
signal through its digital out socket?
