Mike,
As it happens CAD has responded on the gfaforum :- there is
no extra requirement for a Form 2 pack - so hence no extra cost.
The gfaforum has proved very successful in extracting an
answer from the GFA. The answer was informative and did not come with

Instead of discussing this on aus-soaring why not take it to the gfaforum list?
You may then get a response from somebody in GFA.
I’ll cross post shortly.

For the paleo engineless gliders you are likely to risk an outlanding with
its attendant hazards. Pretty stupid to risk breaking your glider or
yourself over lack of a backup.
So you are saying that a outlanding is a risky occurrence?
People are outlanding all the time, except for a few

Just to clarify.
The Australian Air Force Cadets is an entity in its own right, it is NOT
part of the Royal Australian Air Force.
Details, if you are interested in Acts or Regulations can be found here:

equipment must meet
appropriate standards.
The minimum equipment for all Australian Registered Sailplanes is:
a. One Air Speed
There is another V speed above Vne that a qualified test pilot is allowed to
fly the aircraft to during testing.
Due to a very slow internet I am unable to find the authoritive source, but it
is out there.

Gary,
I did not miss PS's point. If you refer to my 3rd para I did suggest
that there may be a better compromise system.
MB picked up on this.

I seem to remember that one person on this list decided that they would be
safer if they fitted a flarm to their aircraft. They forgot that the other
aircraft needs to be fitted with a flarm to.
Flawed logic!

What are the issues you are worried about? Explain them.

Mike,
If you really hate the GFA so much why do you expend so much energy bagging
it. Why not simply do what other have done (and I believe you have) go and
fly under CASA. GFA has not tried to stop you doing so, and when I was on
the board was certainly there was no intent of stopping you flying
Robert,
You may find that like many other members we simply don't really
mind what the GFA does as long as we are allowed to continue flying and
soaring in piece. If heaven forbid the GFA put in place something else
that stops or limits our ability to fly. Say another rule that (and this
