* General news
Draft 1 has completed its IEEE MEC review, and we should be able
to open the ballot after the ballot invitation period closes (on
July 23rd). There were no changes to the body of the standard,
just front changes to include the correct IEEE notices and disclaimers.
The draft is checked into the SVN repository:

IEEE Ballot group status:
We have 22 in the ballot group so far. The largest interest
group is "General user" at 31.8% , next "User - other" 13.6%

Bug 0000249: Add standard support for $'...' in shell Reopened

Richard has an action to propose new wording to discuss in a future telecon.
* Current Business
Bug 1045 had a comment during its interpretation review.
We believe the current resolution is OK. A new bug report covering
the problem mentioned may be reported and resolved at a later date.
Andrew took an action to approve the interpretation - completed
after the meeting.
Bug 1041: Encourage implementations to include better integrity checksum,
compression and decompression utilities if possible. OPEN
