Also, I'd really live to shrink your patch to the minimum, and I think
you're fixing some little bugs we have currently.
Would you mind splitting this bug fixes out of your patch so I can merge

This is useless, you can p_delete(&NULL).
More over you are using xproperty to store group information. At first

I tried, and there's no leak, but there'

That's why indexing a table with an awesome object fails, and indexing

For the very same reason, weak table will fail.

No, I won't accept that. I've no idea why you use this but if you
need, find another way. :)

If I understand correctly, you raise full-maximized windows upon focus.
If it's not focus, then you lower all maximized windows to get them
under tiled ones.
So you basically implements two layers of windows: tiled/maximized ?
Not against it, this does not seem bad but seems to be a very personal choice.

Even if I really think all this align stuff and widget placement will
have to be rewritten someday.

that's weird, if it's the only application with such a problem.
Can you try to enable something like electric fence or duma?
It sometimes make it crash sooner, which help.

Seems ok, I pushed it.
I only re-added the XXX part in mouse.lua, that helps to keep the corner
really fixed with size hints.
