Hi Terri,
I am also interested in AA.
I have a list of the marriages in AA from 1837 to 1900 and none of your
people appear to be married there... It is not much but at least you get the
information they married outside these dates. The surnames are there present
but not the people as you

Are you related to the Mello(w)s from Gloucester, Mass? My Great

Gloucester, Mass.

Terri,
One of the biggest problems for me when I first started was dealing with the

take the mystery out of reading the documents ? Also, I spent time reading

THANK YOU SO MUCH everyone! This is alot of great advice. I went
after work today to look at the microfilm and although i had limited
time (because the library closed) some of the pages seemed easier
to read. I won't give up.

that your Ana da Silva Mendonça married to Manuel do Rego de Oliveira in

in Nordeste.

Just curious: Is anyone researching on Pico ? I see a number of posts
regarding Graciosa, Sao Miguel and Sao Jorge, but not Pico where my

The CCA site will eventually house all the records. It will take a few more
years to complete all the islands. Right now, there are no records for
S.Miguel online. Only an index that Hermano provided to them for deaths in

Mary Ann,
Thanks for taking time to post a reply. I'm aware of the database for Pico.
Actually, I spent several years extracting the marriages and deaths for
Candelaria with the thought of possibly publishing the results. I was in the
middle of doing the baptisms when the database came online.
I am interested in Pico. My grandfather, Jose Machado Soares was born in
Lajes, Pico in 1881. He was the son of Jose Machado and Marianna Rosa
Macedo.
