Some great news for those with ancestors from the Island of Faial. The
book Familia Faialenses by Marcelino Lima has been scanned by Google for
some time but we were unable to read it page-by-page. Now thanks to the
University of Michigan we can view the book and even make JPG's and
Mr. Claeys has recently provided a good deal of information about
Flemish surnames, however, claims of this nature which greatly impact
accepted genealogical history need to be vetted. Until another
reputable genealogist confirms, and certifies this claim to be
factual, it remains only an unsubstat

I could never figure out how Guill made such a big error with Margerite de
Savoie and with Willem Van der Hagen as grandson of the Duke of Burgundy.
All the Dukes legitimate and illegitimate sons are known...a

place in Sacramento Ca. in 1891.
