You should be able find the actual date of your Grandfather's birth/
baptism as recorded on the parish or civil register. Most Portuguese
parish and civil registry records were microfilmed by LDS for the
period you mention. All you need is a few facts about the family,
where they lived,
Gee, I may be wrong...but isn't Walter F Walker most unkind to the Azores
in his comments. In fact, most American writers were not kind if seemed to
me.
