The 1920 census for Dartmouth MA shows that William Pine . grandson and his mother Mary Pine, are in her parents house. She is listed as married. Perhaps Joe Pine wasn't dead , but she left for other reasons. Joe Pine's draft card of Sept 1918 shows he and Mary were living on B st in Hayward.

Mike, Madeiros sounds like it should be a corruption of the surname Medeiros. Madeira is a different archipelago. It's not part of the Azores. Maybe someone else has another idea for that place name. You'll need a different record. Try for the marriage at St. John the Baptist as we discussed
