Hi all,
I found an old posting on an Azores site from a woman named Connie. She wrote
the post in 1999. Unfortunately, her e-mail is no longer active. I am hoping
she is following this Google group or that someone might either know how to
reach her or recognize the family she was
Are there any passports, online, from 1880?
If so, where can I find that link?
Thanks!

This link will take you to the CCA site. The only ones on line are from
Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel. There is a gap 1884-1894 (don't know why). Horta
and Angra do Heroismo are not on line yet.

There's a gap in the records (1884-1894) because they are missing.

Everyone should test! The more people who do, the better chances we have of
breaking down those brick walls! I did the FamilyFinder test and have been
busily working with new found cousins! I now have pictures of my great
grandparents, and some solid leads on the parents of my great grands.
If you are researching the USA - in the South circa Civil War, you get

One county courthouse burned down 4 times!!
Some vets who try to obtain a copy of the DD214 have had to deal with the

Who are your Portuguese great grandparents? Do you know where they are from?
How did they get to America?

Where would passport records for someone from Flores most likely reside? Of
all my Azorean ancestors, I only have a confirmed location for one of them;
Antonio Rodrigues Cardim, who was from Fazenda. His wife, Maria Incarnacion
Freitas (Coehlo??) is only listed as being from the Flores.
Robert,
They could sail from any of the 3 ports (Ponta Delgada on S. Miguel, Angra
on Terceira, or Horta on Faial). Horta is the closest to Flores. They are
not online as of yet.

Especially where are they from? Many of our ancestors came from the Azores via
someplace else.
