Joao Ventura, the Genealogist, was able to get Graciosa records for me prior to
1913, when my grandfather's family arrived in the US. He had no problem going
back four generations.
Joao did great! He provided the record image along with the Portuguese
transcription and English transcription.
What is the CCA? I'm looking for marriage records on Graciosa sometime
between 1909 - 1911, Jaime Cunha Dias and Maria Tomas Cunha.
Thanks,
Lorraine

Sam, the first number is the ledger #; the next three columns are year, mo, and
date; next is the passport #; and, finally the individual #.
I read the year as 1906, not 1904, however. Hope this helps.

Cheri,
I so apologize, but I cannot seem to wrap my brain around this DNA. I
ordered the Family Finder and have received it. I have two choices.
1. I can have my mom checked, she is 96 and her father was from the Azores
and her mom from Ireland.
2. I can use my own and maybe get my mom's side
Elle,
You are not in the Azores project. Or I'd just look up your phone number
and call you.
Since your mom is 96 it would probably be better to use her and then find
someone else from your dad's side. Does he have any living siblings?

I just ordered a Family Finder test for my mom who will be 96 in June. She is
half Azorean.
I am already part of the project. Perhaps we'll get a few more matches with her
added DNA.
She did the National Geographic test and has had fun going through the results
online, bless her heart! This
Mary B,
Yes, you'll find more matches with your mom. Her DNA has the potential to
go back to ancestors from about 1717.
