My cousin and I have been working on her Moniz Thomas (aka Muniz, Moniz Tracado, etc.) of Maia, Ribeira Grande. We've made contact with a man in Canada who is also research Moniz Thomas from Maia. He is related one way, but it appears he will also be related through this surname as well. The

Cheri, I had a bunch of mtDNA matches, however, when FTDNA made its change awhile back I lost them. I recall you said something similar to that might happen. I have my Family Finder matches, but I only have two mtDNA matches. Also, I keep getting notices of new mtDNA matches, but none show up.
